After downloading the Firefox 3.6.15 update, my problems began. Firefox would not connect to the Internet. When I rebooted my PC, Firefox said that it couldn't access any Web sites. I uninstalled Firefox, then downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6.15. I still have the same problem: Firefox will not connect to the Internet. I am running Windows XP, service pack 3. I never had problems with Firefox until I installed version 3.6.15.

I have XP Pro. I tried installing 3.6.15 and could not open it. I did a system restore and 3.6.14 would no longer open. I tried again installing 3.6.15 and got a message that the previous version had not uninstalled properly. Tried uninstalling.
As a precaution I used MozBackup to save my bookmarks etc. and also saved a system restore point.
I then clicked Start, My Computer, drive C, Program Files and deleted the Firefox folder.
I installed 3.6.15 and it is now working fine with all my bookmarks and addons loaded automatically.

Windstream tech service is useless. i can connect with the built in router through Ethernet or wireless, but still no connecting to internet, help! windstream said everything is working on their end, yea right. What i do know is that both the mac and ipad work at other places and can connect with wireless connected to the internet, so i know it's not the apple products.

There is a 2701HG-B, and a 2701HG-D. If not labelled on the modem, ask Windstream which one they presently supply or how to tell the difference.
By the way tell your wife it isn't that bad. At least you have an ethernet DSL modem. There were times where DSL modems had RJ-11, USB, and Ethernet, and all three were used to provide access. At least now only the craziest DSL providers still use those modems.

When I try to connect with firefox it gives me the message that firefox was unable to connect to the server that I was attemting to connect to, and then it asks me if I would like to try agian. I still have internet explorer on my computer and it connects just fine. I need to have firefox working, or I will have to go with google chrome or something different, as internet explorer is not recomended to use on most online college applications and it is finals week.

Windows 7 has a firewall which controls access to the internet on a program by program basis. It is possible that Firefox is not in the firewall's list of a approved programs.
Go to the Help feature and search on Firewall and read the information on how to allow a program internet access.
I don't use the Windows 7 firewall, I use ZoneAlarm's firewall. When I installed ZoneAlarm, I disabled the Windows 7 firewall and have never used. Thus, I can't give you detailed directions as to what you might need to do to allow Firefox to use the internet.
NOW - are you able to get to the internet with Internet Explorer, just as a test?
If not, then the problem may be elsewhere, such as your internet connection - dialup, DSL, Cable, etc.

Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

My macbook will not connect to the internet at home. It works fine on other networks, but at home it will recognize my network name but says it will not be able to connect to the internet. This issue just sort of came up randomly. I have shut the router off (I use Verizon Vios) and reset it and that doesn't work. The little Wifi status at the top of the screen just has an exclamation point over it. I haven't changed any of the default network settings. It just stopped working. Too bad my 4S is 2 years old. Wifi is dead. I had to upgrade to 5S, but 5S is soooooo much faster than 4S so it's kind of good outcome. Without the 4S breaking down, a stingy person like me would have never upgraded the phone.

hmm, well I would say that raises the possibility of an issue with your ipad, and lessens one with your router.
What version iOS are you using? Update
