Firefox will not detect my headphones
Firefox 3.6 will not detect my Plantronics USB headphones. Speakers play fine, but I want to listen through headset.
Try restarting Firefox after you plug the headphones in.

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Starting yesterday, Firefox will not open at all. It hangs at the "connecting stage." For hours. It will not shut down even using the task manager for applications or processes, and it locks up virtually every other application. I thought I managed to save an open Word document yesterday - it looked like a slow, but normal save during the Firefox hang, but the document was empty when I restarted my computer.
Even though my machine is not pentium 4 based, I tried starting using the Windows XP/M configuration, I downloaded and re-installed (over the top of) the existing version, I verified that no Mozilla processes were running before trying to start Mozilla, and tried creating a new profile. Absolutely no success. Every time (of the dozens) I have tried to start Firefox I have had to force a hard shut-down to get out of the application. I have now unpinned Firefox from my task bar because I keep forgetting and hitting it by reflex.
I am running version 11.0 (at least that is what I just downloaded - I am not positive what I was running yesterday). My system is Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i3, 2.4 gHz, 4 GB RAM, 64 bit OS.
Next option is to restore to a previous version. If that doesn't work, I will uninstall and start over from scratch.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

This morning, Firefox crashed. After this, when I click the Firefox icon, the hourglass appears and then nothing happens. Firefox does briefly appear in the task manager when I do this.
I tried rebooting. I tried reinstalling multiple times. (Firefox will run when I select "Launch Firefox" from the installer. Then the problem occurs again.) I tried safe mode. I have found that Firefox will work if I select Windows XP compatibility mode from the icon properties menu or if I run the program as an administrator. When I do this, Windows asks me if I want a program to be able to make changes to my computer.
I have noticed that a Windows Error Report is being generated each time Firefox will not open.A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

I downloaded Firefox 5.0. Firefox will not open. States running offline. I have a Intel Pentium/Windows XP system.
This also happened when I tried to download Firefox 4.
Firefox 3.6.18 works fineYou may need to delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing the latest Firefox.
In case you still have problems after installing then check your security software.

Beginning last week, Firefox will not connect to the internet.
Firefox will not access the internet at all. This began suddenly and not immediately following a change in Firefox or my computer.
Maybe you have a malware infection.
See:

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
Firefox will not open. it says to proxy server is refusing connections. please advise
firefox will not open. the window says that the proxy server is refusing connections.
go to '''TOOLS''' then '''OPTIONS''' then '''ADVANCED''' then '''NETWORK''' tab then '''SETTINGS''' tab and '''select the options NO PROXY''' click '''OK''' and '''OK''' again in the next screen. With that you have disabled the proxy settings.
if you like to '''not''' disable the proxy settings choose :
'''Auto-detect proxy settings for this network'''
thank you

HT1386 iTunes will not detect my iPhone(5s) after the most recent update.
Ever since i updated iTunes it will not detect my iPhone, every time i plug it in it asks to trust the computer which I always use to sync my iPhone. Every time i select "trust this computer" and it still won't detect it. PLEASE HELP.
Hello fercho965,
Sorry to hear that your iPhone is currently not recognized by iTunes. I found an article with steps you can take when you experience an issue like this. I wasn't sure whether you were using a Windows or Mac computer, so I included the respective articles for each:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I have a VGA monitor plugged in to my imac using the VGA adapter to the mini-DVI. All was working well. Since I updated over the weekend, the computer will not detect the monitor.
Any ideas how to fix this?Pcantin wrote:
I have tried another VGA monitor and that failed as well. Since you don't think the update was the cause, it may be that the adapter I am using decided to call it quits. I will see if I can find another and test that out.
I will look into the external drive idea as well.
Thanks for your help on this.
I didn't think about the adaptor, but you should at least visually inspect both the adaptor and the cable at both ends. If one or more pins got bent even slightly the connection might fail. The cables can also fail internally. Replacing the adaptor and cable may be the quickest thing to do initially. If you want to try to save money, first replace the adaptor, and if the problem persists, then go replace the cable (or vice versa). -
Firefox will not start on limited accounts. It reports firefox already running. This happens even if no other users are logged on. Administrator accounts have no problems accessing firefox
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
