Firefox will not download to my computer. tried 4 times

I could NOT get firefox to update. I tried downloading it, but it would NOT download after 4 tries.
Can you E-mail me a copy to [email address removed by moderator], - so that I can try to directly load it into my computer. I believe this is due to a virus from one of the other browsers that prevents me from downloading or updating my firefox. all 4 of the .exe copies just says "Failed" on the download arrow.
Thanks,

Hello,
Does it fail on every browser? Also if no download works, it might point to bigger issues that you would want to address before downloading Firefox...
Make sure that you are downloading from the official Mozilla website:
* https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If you still cannot download, I recommend you download it from another computer and transfer the install file via USB or email it to yourself there.

When I click on, Download Firefox for free, on the main page, it asks to run or save. I click run, it downloads, and closes the first download box, but thats it. wont show up anywhere on my computer. help please?

Have you tried choosing the save option instead? That should save the Firefox installer to your normal location for downloaded files, you can then run the installer to install Firefox.

  • I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:

  • Adobe Edge will not download to a computer running XP

Adobe Edge will not download to a computer running XP in case anyone is wondering.
I just spent a frustrating hour finding this out the hard way.
I do wish my cloud home page announced that face in big writing just above the Edge products that I could see from my XP computer.
I have put this into this forum, as a search on Adobe Edge will not download on Adobe forums during that frustrating hour produced nil results.
    Sigh......

Whenever you looking for a specific app and if it's not listed on the CC Apps page, you should immediately route your thoughts to "may be it's not supported on the OS configuration" and to confirm that you are always welcome to review the tech specs page for each product (categorized separately for each product), quoted down below the CC Apps page (I agree if "Tech Specs" link can move up the page that will be helpful, Good and valid input for CC Page design)
Must seem like such a natural train of thought to an Adobe employee. But it's not how non-tech people think.
Unfortunately this post betrays the fact that Adobe does not understand how many of its customers, especially newbies, work in these situations.
No-one goes to a download link, fails to find it and 'immediately route your thoughts to "may be it's not supported on the OS configuration"'.
Hiding the download icons (for whatever "valid" technical reasons) simply wastes the user's time and starts a guessing game which creates confusion, frustration and anger.
The first thought is usually confusion, followed by wild guesses along the lines of:
Perhaps the website is broken or buggy
Perhaps my browser is broken or buggy
Perhaps my computer is broken or buggy
Perhaps I have done something wrong and must reinstall my software and/or operating system
    All very unnecessary.
Confused, they then post in the forum.
Take a look throughout the forums to see this sentiment time and again.
Add a note to the Cloud homepage for non-geeks who don't think technically.
    It's not that difficult.

Firefox will not download onto my mac OSX 10.8.5. It stops at 15 seconds to go. HELP!!

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop
    *Firefox 25.0.1: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application (open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Installing+Firefox+on+Mac
Your personal data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data when you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

  • Firefox will not open on my computer

From sometime last night to today (11/18) Firefox will not open when I click on the shortcut link from my desktop. I've tried to add another profile by clicking on start/run/firefox.exe but that doesn't even work. What would be the next step?

Do any error messages display when attempting to open Firefox?<br>
In the task manager, is the <code>firefox.exe</code> process running?
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back soon.

  • Firefox will not download and neither will any other program, ever since I accidentally deleted it.

I tried to clear a history and accidentally trashed firefox, It disappeared from my dock, so I opened Safari and tried to re-install firefox. Now, it will not download. Nothing from any site will download at all. What do I do?

It sounds as though your PC is infected with fake antivirus software. The detailed cleanup instructions vary depending on which fake AV you have. However, as a first step, try this:
Download the following on a different PC, copy them to a USB flash drive or CD, and then run them on the infected PC:
    Malwarebytes Anti-malware : http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
    SUPERAntiSpyware : http://www.superantispyware.com/
Hopefully these will get you back online safely. If not, search for clean-up instructions for the specific malware.

    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)

I had this same problem on a Wyse V90LE Thin-Client running XPe. It ended up that my TEMP & TMP environment variables were set to Z: which was a 30MB RAMDRIVE.
You might try changing your TEMP & TMP environment variables to some drive that has plenty of space. (100 MB did it for me) Go to CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM > ADVANCED TAB > ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES BUTTON and change the value of both TEMP & TMP.
    Hope this helps!

  • Firefox will not open without restarting computer

I do not shut down my computer as we use "Log Me In" so I and another person can log in from wherever we want, anytime. About 5 months ago the problem started. I can open FF when I come in every morning, but when I come back in the afternoon or later in the evening, Firefox will NOT open.. It does nothing.. I can click to open, use the drop down and select open, nothing happens. I have to restart my computer every afternoon in order to get Firfox to open.. So I have begun transferring all my links to IE as it does not have any problme like that.
