  • When wireless connection lost during surfing, firefox will not access the internet after connection is restored.

While surfing the net on my laptop (windows vista home premium, all updates current), if the wireless internet connection is lost while a page is loading, firefox will NOT connect to any websites at all when the connection is restored. Also, if I try to shut down firefox, it will appear to close, but if I try to re-start it again, it will tell me "firefox is already running", even though it's not. I try to go to windows file manager and shut down firefox.exe manually, but even with that it will not shut down, it's like it's stuck in some sort of "loop". The only way to recocile it is to completely re-boot the system, which takes forever, because firefox.exe doesn't want to shut down even in re-boot.

  • Firefox will not open a new, secure log-in page, on my bank's site

My Bank's website opens a new, secure, log in page from a link on its home page. When I click on this link to do so, nothing happens. No window opens and Firefox does not give any messages as to why. It used to work, but has stopped in the last couple of months. I don't know if it something in my settings or not. I also use the Flock browser - which is based on the Mozilla code and the link works in this browser. Settings in both browsers appear to be the same.

I get the login window in Firefox.
It uses javascript to open the window. Try hitting control-F5 - that will reload all the scripts in case one is corrupt in the cache.
Do you have any add-ons that might block scripts? Adblock Plus, No Script, ...
    If so try disabling them.
    Try safe mode

  • Firefox will not open in Vista after upgrading to 9.

I updated FF to ver. 9, now it will not open at all. I have tried downloading it and re-installing, but I get an error message that: FF is already running and that it must be shutdown first. Then I tried to uninstall FF in completely, but again I get the message that it is "already running and must shutdown first." Also, I have tried to open FFin safe mode, but that does not work either. Vista all my AV is up to date. Side note IE9 and chrome work fine. Thanks.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • FireFox will not send AOL mail, It tries about 5 minutes, then says there is a problem with sending mail.

    Hi
I'm working on a Mac with 10.4.11 and using AOL as my mail, for the last 2 days I can't send mail from my FireFox, I can receive but not send.
I'm using FoxFire 3.6.10; I've tried cleaning cache, but it didn't help.
I don't think it is my system, because I can send mail on the Safari.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

  • Firefox will not start up even after I uninstalled and reinstalled.

I even did a system restore to back before the problem started in case it was a OS problem. I did notice a firfox safemode file in system startup which was not the location I installed to. There are icons on my desktop and start menu. I recently switched to Panda Secuity so I uninstalled that and switched back to System Mechanic [used for several years, worked fine with Firefox] to see if it made a difference, it did not. Any help or suggestions greatly apprciated.

  • My Firefox will not pull up, even after I uninstalled the old version and installed the new version. What is wrong with it? It only had this problem recently.

I am having problems getting Firfox to open. I have unistalled the 14. version and then installed the 15. version hoping that it would fix the problem. It didn't. I have even tried restarting the computer, which also did not solve the problem. I know it is not the computer, because all other applications open properly, except this one. I would like to know what is going on and the problem to be fixed please.

  • Firefox will not launch after latest OS X security update

Just installed latest Apple software update on Snow Leopard. Now, Firefox will not launch. Checked system logs and get this:

The following may or may not be related. Before installing the update, I had lots of these messages in my logs:

Sounds like you may have a check in the box for HTTP and/or HTTPS proxy servers, but you are not behind a proxy server. Safari and Software Update use the HTTP port, Mail doesn't, and Firefox ignores the Mac OS preferences and uses it's own proxy settings.
Go to System Preferences > Network > active connection > Proxies tab and if there are proxies checked, UNcheck them.
    Hope this helps...

  • Firefox will not remember my e-mail log in

I had no problem with my e-mail until about a week ago. I made no changes before this. Now firefox will not remember my e-mail log in. I check the box (remember me) but it does no good. I went to tool (privacy) and went through the process to remember my log ins but nothing seems to help

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Private+Browsing
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
    * Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
