Firefox will not load . it just freezes when trying to upload the homepage

Its ask do you want to set Firefox as a default browser and I choose when. Its freezes then and when I try to close it asks me to do I want to send an error report. I have been using for at least a couple of years. Internet Explorer works for me.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Rather difficult to say what the problem may be at present but for general info please have a look at

Note sometimes you may have to wait a while for firefox to shutdown completly, and if it has hung then as explained in the above articles you may need to kill any firefox.exe process that is still running (and maybe plugincontainer.exe)
Try starting firefox in [[safe mode]] e.g. by holding down shift key
* do not make any changes in the first window, just click on continue ? Do you get as far as seeing the options window for safe mode ?
If firefox is crashing see [[firefox crashes]], this is easier to work through if you can get firefox to start without crashing on startup. Firefox will not load any web page, other programs will. Continuously "connecting"

Firefox will not load any pages, but Google Chrome will. Firefox will 'load' the home page, but with any other site, the tab will continuously circle and say "connecting". I have tried clearing my cache, starting in safe mode, and restarting my computer. So far, nothing is working.

Update..when I open firefox from scratch, the main firefox pages on the home page seem to work. But as soon as I try to go anywhere else, IE going to a website in the address bar or even trying to access the defauly bookmark links, it just sits there loading but never brings anything up.

You could try the new Reset feature. This duplicates certain key data from your active settings folder into a new one, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your plugins will still be active, but could be disabled manually if you like.

Time to time firefox will not load, says it is running but cant close and reopen

Every once in a while Firefox will not run, it says something about a file in the profile directory and that it is running and to close the current session or restart. I run task manager but it isn't running. It seems to fix when I clean my computer, I haven't noticed a pattern to this it's just from time to time.

By default the "Get Add-ons" tab is selected if you open the about:addons page (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons) 
That page tries to load content from the Mozilla server and that can take some time especially if the Mozilla servers are busy. 
You can click on the Extensions tab to see the installed extensions or one of the other tabs to see other installed add-ons.

Drop down menus on iPad, the first selection in the drop down will not load as a selection when using safari, what can I do? I use this for my mobile, on-site auto repair business and not being able to call up repair and diagnostic info and reference for some cars is troublesome for sure. It works fine on the computer and I have installed a remote desktop app as a workaround but it is unreliable because the desktop is not business dedicated and may be off or in use at the time. So is there a known fix for this?
Let me paint a more descriptive picture, visualize 4 drop down selection menus, first one is for year, next one is for make, 3rd one is model and the last one is for engine size/type. If I wanted to choose a 2012 vehicle it wont work because it is the top selection on the list. This can be forced by selecting any other year and then coming back to 2012. Ok fine, but then let's say I wanted to choose Acura as the make, well it won't take it because again it's the top selection. Again you work around it be selecting any other make and coming back to Acura. Ok now select the model, same trend follows. But now since most Acura vehicles come with dedicated engines and no optional engines I have only 1 selection in that final drop down menu and it will not take my selection and therefore never let me proceed to the info I need.
This is also true when ordering parts from my wholesaler's website, they use drop downs and I can only get to that last drop down and then I'm stuck. This is blindingly frustrating, what options do I have. I'm not opposed to any avenue at this point.

Did you ever figure this out? I bought my iPad last week to use in my business as well. I assume you are trying to use alldata? That is where I noticed this same issue. I had problems with identifix working with safari but downloaded a different browser and that works fine. Alldata does not work with either browser. The main difference is that on identifix if there is only one engine selection, it automatically selects the only option and continues to the home page. With alldata you have to make the selection manually even if there is only one option. Honestly if I can't get this to work I am going to return the iPad as it looses a significant amount of usefulness to men
