Firefox will not open a window nor can I uninstall it!

Firefox does not open when I click it. I attempted to uninstall it but when I try nothing happens. I have researched fixes, but it seems as if I actually have to open a window to fix it, which does not work. What can I do?

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.

The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Firefox will not open new window, Why?

I have Vista home base premium operating system. I am a regular user of Mozilla firefox after had lots of positive feedback as one of the best browser. I had no problem for a good while, until recently I found out my add-on firebug stop working. Then I noticed that firefox stopped working properly, ie; it will no more open new window/s. One window will open after rebooting and i can have a number of tabs opened. When I right click on a web link and take the option to open it in a new window it will not open. When I take the option to open it in a new tab then that would be ok. When I go to the toolbar and click on File and chose option "open new window" again it will not open. I have on many accasions completely installed Firefox using the IObit software and use the advance system care to clean the registry and completely scan the system. I then reinstalled the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. I did that twice. The problem is still there. About the ad-on firebug, when I go to the toolbar and click on Tools, i can see Firebug with the extended arrow, but when I click on the arrow to the extended options, it simply would not respond.
There must something going on, please help.

Firefox will not open new window for websites that require it

I am running Firefox 3.6.16 on Windows XP.
For some time now, certain websites will just not work - for instance, when I use Mapquest, it used to open the new window when I clicked on "print" - that no longer happens.
Today, I was trying to use the eScrip online mall, and when I clicked on the store name, it did not open a new window - this was working fine back in December when I was doing my online shopping.
My suspicion is the new version has some kind of problem. does anyone have a solution for this?

I use MapQuest a lot but haven't used the PRINT option for a while. I just tried it and you are right, the PRINT does not open any window or even work. But if you change it to the NEW MapQuest, the PRINT function will work. I guess MapQuest has disabled the PRINT option in their CLASSIC version. Maybe they are trying to encourage users to use their NEW version instead.
If you still want to use the CLASSIC version, you can always copy the map and paste it onto a Image Editor program and print from there.

Firefox will not open multiple windows.

Just upgraded to Firefox 3.6.3. I can open multiple tabs in the open window, but I can not open another window. Possibly unrelated issue is the search bar not functioning.
As for the window issue, I've tried;
Ctrl + N
File [N]
File -> New Window
Rt Click Link -> Open in New Window
Nothing whatsoever happens with either of these attempts.
As for the Search bar I've tried to input a search and press [Enter] as well as clicking the magnifying glass with the mouse. As with the window issue nothing happens.
I'm not sure if these issues are related. Restarting does not fix these.

Firefox will not open. I have tried to uninstall and this wont work. I have laded beta version but I still can't uninstall earlier version. I would prefer the earlier version working. I have tried to update this version and that wont work either

I can't open firefox. I have tried to update, repair and uninstall and nothing works. I have checked that it is not already running. I have restored my pc to an earlier date, completed scans but it will still not work. I have loaded the beta version ok but I am not keen on it and would prefer the earlier version.

Firefox will not open until Windows Firewall has opened at startup. A slow process and slows Firefox in Starting. Can this be corrected?

Since installing Firefox the start up time for the computer has greatly increased as Windows Firewall has to be started before Firefox can open. Very annoying and can this problem be corrected?

Firefox does this for security purposes. I do not recommend attempting to "fix" this.
To boost starting time, you can try a Firefox preloading software.

Firefox will not open new windows, opens with session restore every time I use it, and won't let me open the throubleshooting tab... Why?

Whenever I try to open a new window, nothing happens. This includes clicking ctrl+N and through the drop down menu.
Also, whenever I start firefox to browse the internet, it always open with a Session Restore with the previous session listed, even though I closed all the tabs and shut it down normally without any prompts telling me about saving multiple tabs.
Finally, when I tried to troubleshoot this problem, the tab never appeared. The only options that work on the Help Menu are:

Firefox will not open in windows 7 , i have closed the prossess and tryed to restart it but same thing, it will not start.

fresh in stall of windows 7 home pre. this has happen before and i never fingered it out. this is windows 7 , 32 bit not 64 bit. i try to launch Firefox 4, or earlier version and nothing happens.

AT&T U-Verse said off the record to me that sometimes IE-8 gives them Fits" I do nopt kno0w where to turn; U-Verse Techs only solve specific U-Verse problems!
