Firefox will not open any pages

Two days ago my computer would let me open firefox, but it will not display any of the pages - not even my home page. It tells me it is done at the bottom of the screen but nothing is showing up. I prefer to use firefox, but I am having to use another broser.

A new version of Firefox was released 2 days ago, so it is possible that a Firewall is blocking the new version of Firefox. For details on that see [[Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can]].

• Firefox will not open ANY site. Wont work AT ALL. Nothing seems to be working.

Firefox will not open ANY site. It worked last night, but not today. I uninstalled it many times, didn't worked. It displays the screen that says "unable to connect" yet chrome and explorer both work. I have disconnected and reconnected a few times, restarted my laptop, neither of those worked either. I have also tried turning "safe mode" off after re installing firefox, but again, that did not work. I need help :(.
Although, before this, firefox was not letting me use voice recording sites or any site that let me watch television online. It would load the commercials, but not play the episode. It wouldn't even let me upload pictures to photobucket. However, it worked using chrome or explorer.

Looks like a bunch of people have this problem. Anyone got any ideas to fix this???

• Updated to android 2.3 on my htc evo 4g and now firefox will not open any tabs?

I've been using Firefox 4 since first few weeks of release and all was great with Android 2.2 on my htc evo 4g. Now updated to 2.3 this past weekend and Firefox will not open any tabs. Have resorted to using stock Dolphin... :(
I miss Firefox. What is the fix?

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then try to disable Virtualization.

I have windows 7 64, and recently, when windows automatically updated, my firefox will not open any new tabs, manually or when opening a link...

When I open Firefox I only get an untitled tab and "done" in the lower left. It will not open any web page. I have XP. I think this started when I installed AVG 2011. I have uninstalled the avg and still can't get it to work. My internet connection is work as I am getting my email through Outlook. I recovering to before this all happened and that did not help. Also, IE won't open, so I have no web browsing available.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
I even downloaded ff again, uninstalled oldff, and installed new. no luck. all i get is a pop up stating ...download is in progress, please wait.... but it never loads. started after last update. Is ther a way to delete the last update to firefox?
thanks

Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and click Options (Preferences for Linux and Mac).
#In the Options (Preferences for Linux and Mac) window, select the ''Applications'' panel.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right hand side you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

• Firefox will not open any webpages, but other browsers work. How can I fix it?

Firefox will not load any web pages. I recently ran a registry cleaner/virus scan on my computer and now Firefox 5 will not load ''any''webpages. It displays a "Problems Loading Page" error message. Other browsers still work. I tried uninstalling and re-installing firefox, even restoring to a previous restore point, but nothing seems to work. Guy there is another people who have maybe the same problem, look this: https://support.mozilla.org/it/questions/971842

• Firefox will not open certain pages,

It will not open my BT emails or flickr but when I use IE they work perfectly. I have cleared my history/cache/cookies and run a virus check, no malware.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was having the same problem and it was driving me INSANE because every solution I found on the internet said "just use Firefox!" (my default browser). It doesn't matter whether it's Firefox, Safari, Netscape, Opera, whatever, the computer was NOT accessing these sites. It seemed to coincide with a recent OS update, but maybe that's just my imagination.
Then my sister-in-law came over with her totally identical MacBook and complained of having the exact same problem accessing the same sites!
On top of this, I had no problem accessing these on my iMac in Chicago last week (running the same OS and software), so I concluded it had to be our router.
In my case, it was solved by simply rebooting the router. Have you tried this? It seems so simple, but now I can access every site that I was having trouble with. You might have to reconfigure something on your router, I don't know much about this. But my general conclusion is that something was wrong with the way the MacBook and router were communicating. Sorry I can't be more specific!

• Firefox will not open any web pages including its own introduction pages.

I downloaded Firefox to try out.
When I first opened Firefox on this computer, it failed to open any web pages and continues to do so.
I have downloaded it on two other laptops with the same configuration with no issues.
Google Chrome is working on this machine.

Update..when I open firefox from scratch, the main firefox pages on the home page seem to work. But as soon as I try to go anywhere else, IE going to a website in the address bar or even trying to access the defauly bookmark links, it just sits there loading but never brings anything up.

• Firefox will not open web pages that are called from the mail program that comes with Vista, anyone out there have a solution?

I have installed Firefox ver 4 on a Toshiba laptop running Vista. My problem is when using the mail client that comes with Vista any url in an email message will not load in the browser, a new tab is created and has the url from the mail message but that is as far as I get. There is no revolving icon on the new tab and clicking on reload does nothing. So far this is happening with every website I have tried. There is no error message of any kind. The websites are working sites and can be opened if I navigate to them manually
