Firefox will not open error: "cannot load XPCOM"

Tried to get on FF and I keep getting this message "cannot load XPCOM"
Also, I red directions on how to "reach" my profile, and I get 3 messages telling me my profile cannot be read.
I am s'posed to be the "administrator" but I can['t make any changes Help!

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

In the last couple of days when I start Firefox it will not properly load the Google home page I set up. It will not load the calendar or Date and Time. When I try to open gmail it will not open. Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! I hope that solves your problem too.

Csound1 What Ive been trying to explain is that I have been running bootcamp, I open the app where the first screen is the introduction, i hit continue, the first time I select "download the latest windows support software fromm Apple" then I return and instead select "Install Windows 7." Then hit continue. The third screen is where I "Create a Partition for Windows" I set Windows to 80 gigs then hit INSTALL. As stated before Bootcamp cannot find the install drivers saying "The installer disc could not be found." My windows software is on a USB drive not a disc, I tried using a virtual disc reader to make it appear that the windows software was running on a disc, still no luck. What I would like to know is how to install windows on bootcamp.

Just of late, Firefox will not open, have tried to uninstall, but it tells me I have to shut Firefox but it is not open! same problem downloading new version

Wherever I find Firefox on my computer, it will not open. i cannot get beyond the icon or the file. Clicking on them gets no result.
If I try to uninstall and download again, it tells me it cannot proceed in either case until I close Firefox. But it will not close. So I am totally stuck. It worked well up to about a fortnight ago.

1. Kill firefox.exe through the Task Manager, to open the taskmanager hit Win + R and enter taskmgr.exe in the window, hit enter, right click firefox.exe and hit "end all processes" or something similar.

The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Firefox will not open ANY site. It worked last night, but not today. I uninstalled it many times, didn't worked. It displays the screen that says "unable to connect" yet chrome and explorer both work. I have disconnected and reconnected a few times, restarted my laptop, neither of those worked either. I have also tried turning "safe mode" off after re installing firefox, but again, that did not work. I need help :(.
Although, before this, firefox was not letting me use voice recording sites or any site that let me watch television online. It would load the commercials, but not play the episode. It wouldn't even let me upload pictures to photobucket. However, it worked using chrome or explorer.

I have no navigation bar ever since I closed it to gain more space on the screen. It won't re-open. Firefox will not open in safe mode, but opens immediately in normal mode with the new improper config, so I cannot reset to default config. I erased Firefox and re-installed and it still opens with the same faulty config. Why does Firefox not give me the safe mode dialog box, why can I not re-open the nav bar, and how can I do these two things, please? This morning, Firefox crashed. After this, when I click the Firefox icon, the hourglass appears and then nothing happens. Firefox does briefly appear in the task manager when I do this.

Firefox will not open after unlocking Sempron

After upgrading to a new motherboard and unlocking Sempron processor, Firefox will not open. I have tried Firefox (safe mode) and rolled back to a previous version, but to no avail. It worked fine when I ran the Sempron 140 as a single core (even overclocked to 3.17ghz) on Biostar A785GE motherboard. I cannot find a crash ID to link to.

Maybe you restored to a version of Firefox that crashes or still have a virus problem.
(irrc some Firefox versions specifically had problems after Windows restores)
Follow up checking for malware and then try re-installing Firefox. I would also suggest you make a copy of your [[profiles|profile]] including all folders and sub files and put it somewhere safe as it may assist in restoring your bookmarks and information.

Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

Thank you for your question. I understand after you reset Firefox, that Firefox will not open up on one of the accounts on this computer.

To test to see if the problem is the profile, use the Profile Manager to create a new profile. [[Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles]] If the problem goes away, you can then move your bookmarks and other important settings into the new profile.
