You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button

I do the download for the new version, it goes smooth, and then when I try to open it up, it pops up in my Task Manager for a moment and then disappears. No error messages, just disappears.
hmmmm. can you check something for me? (this might give us a heads up on the nature of the itunes problem.)
try launching your QuickTime. does it:
(a) launch perfectly fine?
(b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
(c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?)

My Firefox will not open - it just spins. Can't do anything. Help!!!

Have been happily using Firefox for years. When I shut down my computer today, I had to force quit Firefox. I'm on a Mac. Once I turned it back on it will do nothing. Have reinstalled the software. When I try to open it I get this message (see attached)
I have tried to Reset Firefox and Start in Safe Mode - neither work. Just spins and has to be forced to quit in Safe Mode. Just spins and has to be Force to quit when I try to Reset it.

Despite numerous reboots Firefox would not open for 3 days because apparently it was occupied, how can I see what it is occupied with and how to close it ?

I opened my online banking site but could not sign in or sign out hence I closed the website and closed Firefox. For 3 days I could not open Firefox nor Explorer. During the 3 days I rebooted several times. On the forth day when I opened Firefox a screen opened saying Firefox was embarrassed etc. etc.. and that I could restore my online banking site which I did. I was able to sign in and sign out of the account and close the website. My question is when Firefox locks up like this, how can I see if a site is open in Firefox if I can't open Firefox?
I am using Windows 7

The 'Embarrassed' screen comes up when Firefox has not closed down correctly and is trying to restore the situation. This will not always succeed, and you may have to do a normal restart.

You should always try to close Firefox by using

Where possible try to avoid closing by: killing the process, closing the window, or turning off the computer whilst Firefox is running.

I do not know why you could not open firefox for 3 days, presumably a problem with your computer. Note even if there is no internet Firefox itself should still open when required.
If Windows Explorer is not running/working there was probably not much you could easily do with the computer. Or was your problem with Internet Explorer (The default Windows Browser) again possibly a symptom of a bigger problem.

Firefox will not close after trying to print an online document. How can I close it?

Trying to print something from safari, firefox opened with the document and showed up with 2 boxed. the first says:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script no, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:2417.
I then gives me the option to 'stop script' or 'continue', neither work.
the second pop up gives me the option to print the document but again the buttons don't work.

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted. 
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Firefox 5.0.1 will not open, I just upgraded to it.

Firefox will not open. I have been to the task manager over and over and stopped the already running firefox, no help. I just upgraded to the new 5.x.x, and now it will not open ever.

You may need to delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing the latest Firefox. 
In case you still have problems after installing then check your security software.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Firefox will not open now - I just updated my privacy settings, and cleared cookies - what happened?

I changed the privacy settings on Firefox preferences, including clearing cookies, history and cache, and now Firefox will not open at all. It said it had to restart after one of the privacy changes, but it didn't and now won't open by the dock icon or thru applications. Firefox will not open the St George logon window. It has for morre than 5 years but in the last 48 hours it has stopped. IE and Crome still do. Firefox will not open...please help.

My Mozilla Firefox will not open any windows, although it does start and show as running in my task manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice now and restarted my computer twice.
I CANNOT start Firefox in safe mode by holding down shift or using the "firefox/safe" in the run box.
I've tried it with applications closed, and open....I've tried it online and offline, I tried to run it in compatibility mode, I checked my computer for viruses...nothing helps.
I have read every troubleshooting item here but they only say try safe mode, or do something from Firefox when it is open such as reset it. I have no add-ons or extensions on Firefox and it just worked yesterday...also my computer is brand new Windows 8.1 12GB ram 2TB harddrive and everything else works fine.

Firefox will not open. Hangs at "connecting" stage. Non-responsive even to process shut-down via task manager.

Starting yesterday, Firefox will not open at all. It hangs at the "connecting stage." For hours. It will not shut down even using the task manager for applications or processes, and it locks up virtually every other application. I thought I managed to save an open Word document yesterday - it looked like a slow, but normal save during the Firefox hang, but the document was empty when I restarted my computer.
Even though my machine is not pentium 4 based, I tried starting using the Windows XP/M configuration, I downloaded and re-installed (over the top of) the existing version, I verified that no Mozilla processes were running before trying to start Mozilla, and tried creating a new profile. Absolutely no success. Every time (of the dozens) I have tried to start Firefox I have had to force a hard shut-down to get out of the application. I have now unpinned Firefox from my task bar because I keep forgetting and hitting it by reflex.
I am running version 11.0 (at least that is what I just downloaded - I am not positive what I was running yesterday). My system is Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i3, 2.4 gHz, 4 GB RAM, 64 bit OS.
Next option is to restore to a previous version. If that doesn't work, I will uninstall and start over from scratch.

I have no navigation bar and firefox will not open in safe mode to reset to default config. Reinstalling doesn't work. Any help please.

I have no navigation bar ever since I closed it to gain more space on the screen. It won't re-open. Firefox will not open in safe mode, but opens immediately in normal mode with the new improper config, so I cannot reset to default config. I erased Firefox and re-installed and it still opens with the same faulty config. Why does Firefox not give me the safe mode dialog box, why can I not re-open the nav bar, and how can I do these two things, please? Firefox is currently unusable for me without a nav bar and without access to the default settings in safe mode. I cannot research the extensions I'm running since I have no nav bar to go to Tools, Add-ons, Extensions.

Firefox will not open after attempting to upgrade to v5, sys restore didn't help

Was running 3.6 with no problems, but trying to upgrade today apparently broke it. The upgrade failed for some reason (the old .exe is still the only one in the Firefox folder & I can't find any files newer than April 2010 in there), but no matter how I try to run it, nothing happens - Firefox will not open, period. I tried reverting to last week with sys restore, scanning for malware with Malwarebytes, but still nothing happens. I'm using WinXP 5.1 media edition SP2 (yes, it's been around a few years but it works for me). I'm now using Chrome which seems to run just fine, tho I miss all my plugins.

If Firefox runs without problems, it could indicate that your firewall is blocking Firefox.
