Firefox will not open links in gmail, but Internet Explorer will. Firefox is the default browser. The tab of the site it is trying to open reads: https:/w8mbn4 or https:/...urw8nbn4. No errors in the Error counsel are reported. Help!
I put in the WOT Addon, but Uninstalled it with not improvement.
I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).

I start to fill in details to pay a bill on a supplier's website. Firefox never gives me a successful completion. On some websites, I get as far as the "VISA Verify" last stage and then get a message that there has been a problem. On 24ace website, I only get as far as choosing to pay by Debit Card when the process stops before I get to the stage of entering the card details. Internet Explorer works first time every time. Drakon may be thinking some new fixes in the beta version of Firefox might have fixed this particular problem. Although I am not that confident after using many versions of Firefox and the different types of builds they have (nightly, beta and release).
My advice is to stay on the current Firefox you have. I don't think there's any immediate solution to your problem as some websites are incompatible with Firefox and must update the broken website code on their site.
I'll try a test purchase on http://24ace.co.uk when I can and see if I get the same problem as you.
One easy thing to try is clearing your cookies and cache to see if that helps.
To clear cache and cookies:
* Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history
If no Firefox button is shown, go to Tools > Clear recent history.
* Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
* Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
* From the details list, check '''Cache''' and '''Cookies''' and uncheck everything else.
* Now click the '''Clear now''' button.

Yahoo mail will not let me download an attachment But Internet Explorer will!
When using FireFox with yahoo mail I can not download an attachment on an e-mail but Internet explorer will!
As stated above - purchasing more space in iCloud has nothing to do with this. You do not have enough space left on the iPad for the movie to download, you need to delete content on the device itself.
You may want to transfer purchases to iTunes and then delete some content on the device to make room.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains (e,g, sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net).
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

Firefox crashed. Closed all my windows - did the auto update thingy with accompanying message. Brought up the windows that had closed as usual - all said "problem loading page". Firefox will now not connect to internet. It's not a problem with my connection etc - internet explorer is working fine. Anyone else have this problem today?

Microsoft Update KB2670838 will not allow PDFs to display in Internet Explorer 11 and 10

When upgrading to Internet Explorer 11/10 in Windows 7 Enterprise, there is an update KB2670838. It halts the operations of PDF's into the browser, instead it throws up a blank page with a small box thats crossed and it wont let them show up in Adobe Acrobat/Reader.This update is a requirement for Internet Explorer 11 to install and while wed love to get on the latest version, we just cant with this problem. Internet Explorer 9 displays PDFs in broswer just fine.
We have tried in Adobe to make it so it will not display in broswer by unchecking that option, but it still does not display. reading up on it there is a registry hack that helps alivate this but it is only for Windows 8/8.1.
Any tips/solutions/Help for this would be appreciated for this.

How do you invoke the default browser for Unix/OSX
Does anyone know how to programmatically display the contents of a URL in the default browser for a Unix system? I found a javaworld article on doing this using Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd). The article gives the cmd string for invoking the default browser in Windows, and for invoking the Netscape browser in Unix.
This can easily be extended to invoke any known browser executable in a known path on a Unix system; but I'd like to invoke the default browser without knowing what or where it is. I'm specifically targetting Mac/OSX, but any Unix solution is worth trying.
Is there a Unix command for launching the default browser to display the contents of a given URL? Or is there an alternative approach, rather than invoking Runtime.exec()?

This code detects the default browser on a Mac, and provides an elegant solution for trying standard browsers in turn for other Unix systems. I do know that in Photoshop CS5 in Bridge there's a preference dialog that allows you to set file associations as well... I'm not where I can test CS4 at the moment. There may be such a dialog also in Bridge CS4. Open Bridge, choose Edit - Preferences - File Associations if that subcategory exists, then find your file type and change the association.
Yet a third possibility is that if you have a viewer program like IrfanView that you'd like to associate with the file type, then the viewer program likely offers a menu through which you can indicate you want that program assocated with particular file type(s). I have instructed IrfanView to make itself the viewer for all Image types, and that works well.

Firefox will not show links to flv files. I get the error message for each flv file: "File not found. Firefox can't find the file at http:// (path) .flv." Any mov and swf files in this same path will show. I can see the videos in Safari so the paths are correct.
Is this a webpage that contains a link to a flv file? Please post a link to the page and tell us which link(s) are the problem flv files or else post a link to the .flv file itself.
