Firefox will not open new 'tabs', not sure if its disabled, but does anyone know how to enable the use of my tabs?
Firefox will not open any tabs on my browser. I've tried using all alternatives to open a new tab - using the 'plus' (+) button doesn't work, 'control + T' doesn't work, going to File and clicking 'new tab' doesn't work either? Help please!

How to program a midi foot controller on Mainstage? Does anyone knows how to program the foot controller with exclusive solo channel in order not to dance "tip tap" while from clean guitar I go to crunch or solo? How to do this programming on Mainstage?
I basically managed to learn how to invert parameters which allows me to be as default in the clean guitar channel and if I switch the first button on the midi foot controller I switch to crunch, but at this point I tryied so hard to programm the second and third button to switch, only through a button in one step, to a third channel for distorsion or a 4th channel for solo guitar but I couldn't figured out how this work can be done!
I would appreciate if anyone could help or share this experience with others who are experiencing the same problem.

does anyone know how to delete the back up for the ipod? I am getting an error message that says "iTunes could not back up iPod because it is corrupt or not compatible with iPod; delete back up and try again"
Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and highlight the backup you want to delete and click on Delete Backup

I recently changed my apple ID but my previous apple ID is associated with my icloud account. I'm setting up my new iphone 6 and cannot complete the set up until I can sync my icloud account. Does anyone know how to change the icloud id?
Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your phone). -
We downloaded Office2008 update June 13th. Now our Office programs won't open. Is this happening to others? Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

IPod 1st gen does not work after upgrade to iOS 3.1.3. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I upgraded my iPod 1st Generation from 1.1.5 to iOS 3.1.3. through iTunes. After it went through the upgrading process, I received the error message, "iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6). I went to another PC and was able to restore to the original version. However, I would like to be able to upgrade to 3.1.3 so that I can buy some Apps that requires 3.1.3. Does anyone know how to fix this or have any suggestions? Thanks.

I had my itunes account on my laptop which has since crashed. I had to buy a new computer and iinstall the new version of itunes. It did not pull up any of my information with music library, etc. Does anyone know how to transfer existing music from my itunes account for my ipod to my iphone?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

Yes. Are you familiar with Dropbox? Dropbox is an excessively easy way for you to transfer files between devices (PC/Mac/Galaxy Tab/iPhone/iPad/etc.). You can upload your files to Dropbox on one device and receive it on the other.

I am not seeing the weather in the notifications for 'today'. The weather app doesn't show up in the notifications dialog either. What to do?

IF not too late, I will try to explain the philosophy of diacriticals. Basically, there are two ways:
- with so-called precomposed characters, i.e. chars which contain both the basic letter and the diacritical mark in one, unicode-encoded, char; this applies to chars used in languages based on the Latin alphabet, e.g. ř (Czech), ė (Lithuanian), ș (Romanian) etc.
- as, for various (mainly) linguistic and dialectal use, the number of precomposed chars is limited and, at a given moment, stopped by Unicode, the other solution is to write the basic char then add the diacritical mark, below or above, or even put more diacritical marks, 2 or 3, sometimes needed.
Your problem is, therefore, that—in your list—only a with macron, i.e. ā, is available as a precomposed char, the others must be achieved by typing the basic letter then macron above. This requires that both the application and the font be capable of doing this. If the font is missing the unicode block named combining diacritical marks, you cannot do that. Lucida Grande is that font, but there are others.
Your problem is then the keyboard layout capable of doing that. As the solution offered by Apple was not satisfactory for me (non-mnemotechnical and not covering all my needs) I created my own keylayout, labelled US Academic. It should be updated, some recently added chars are missing, but it will cover your neeeds. Alternatively, use Char Viewer to add the macron, a particularly tedious work. I know, some abhor dead keys, I like them, because—once mastered—they allow a fast use of diacritical marks. Consider that nobody needs all diacritical marks, but several, which may be easily memorized. In my keylayout, macron (line) below is option-a and macron (line) above is option-shift-a. Therefore, type c then option-shift-a = c̄; similarly, s̄; p̄; ā; x̄; q̄
True, you must exercize the use of such keylayout, but—once mastered—is a piece of fast work.

Therefore, if you need such pieces of linguistics, if TextEdit is too simple, Nisus or Mellel do a better job (the former with any appropriate font, the latter with OpenType fonts only).

Does anyone know how to Unhighlight the font in notes?
I highlighted the "font" and the "document color" in my Notes app on my Mac, just playing around and looking at the options I have. However, now I cannot figure out how to get the document color (Example 1 in turquoise blue) to go back to no color as is in Example 2. Or to unhighlight.

The method for putting a setting back the way it was in apps on the Mac is to reverse the setting by choosing it again in the same fashion that you made it. Such as -- [Menu] > [Edit] > [Undo] -- and [Menu] > [Edit] > [Redo]
Additionally, the Apple Help Files are very -- helpful -- in learning how to do something or solving a particular problem in an app.

First of all, thank you for your patience, this is driving me nuts, can't imagine what you must think right now....
I made a screenshot that hopefully clears this up:
On the left is what I see when I open up Finder preferences, and then the Sidebar tab. As you can see all boxes are checked. The Middle folder that is open is what I see when I open Finder from the taskbar. which is fine by me. On the right however I have opened Macintosh HD. And as you can see, there is no sidebar, it just opens up with 4 folders.
Weirdly enough, when I tried to add a photo to my apple ID just now, the sidebar came up just fine. And I have found that it does that with more programs. So it is literally only when I open up Macintosh HD that it wont do it. I hope this clarifies it a bit more.
and to answer this question:
I'm not quite sure I understand. Is the sidebar layout you showed me not the one you want? Because if it is the one you want then you should just close the preferences window behind it.
this sidebar only pops up when I open the preferences - general - show in new finder part and then choose 'other'. I cant close the preference window behind it, because then it will close that pop-out folder as well.. -
Does anyone know how to access the new photo sharing in iCloud?
In the keynote, at the end of the iPhoto for iPad demo, there was a brief demo of a new iCloud feature that would allow sharing of photos to a web link. I'm confussed as to whether this is only in the iOS iPhoto app or, if as stated a new feature of iCloud, should it be a new feature of iPhoto 9 as well? Has anyone tried this? Is this Apple's replacement for MobileMe's iWeb and iPhoto's Gallery? If so, hooray!
