  • Please help! My Itunes says corrupt file and will not open (IMac 2010). I couldn't fix it by reinstalling so I moved it to trash. It will not delete from my trash as it is saying "Japanese.lproj" is in use. I can't delete or open to close it, what do I do

    Please help!
My Itunes says there is a corrupt file and will not open (IMac 2010). I couldn't fix it by reinstalling ITunes so I moved ITunes to trash. It will not delete from my trash as it is saying "Japanese.lproj" is in use. I have never opened or used "Japanese.lproj". I can't delete ITunes or open ITunes to close the Japanese.lproj, what do I do? Thank you for any help you can provide..

It will not delete from my trash as it is saying "Japanese.lproj" is in use. I have never opened or used "Japanese.lproj".
Interesting. This sort of thing is more common on Windows systems. Taken at face value, one of the iTunes program files (one of the Japanese language resources) is damaged.
I'd try running your Disk Utility over your startup disk. Does it find/repair any damage? If so can you empty your trash and reinstall your iTunes successfully now?

  • Updated to iTunes 11 now it will not open or uninstall- Windows 8 64bit

Updated to iTunes 11 using the "check for updates" tab on iTunes. I installed and realized it will not open. Turns out it installed the 32bit version (I did not have any option to choose between 32bit and 64bit). Nothing was going right so I attemped to unistall it using the controll panel and going to unistall programs. It in a way uninstalled, there is no iTunes folder on my hard drive or anything so I am guessing it did uninstall? Anyways, I attemted to download and install iTunes 11 (The actually 64bit) again but here is what happens: It will download everything but it will not open to install. Help?

I have a similar problem. I updated Firefox to 3.6.4 a few days ago. Then I tried to load Microsoft update KB982524. KB982524 would not load correctly. After that Internet Explorer will not start. I get a very brief flash of Internet Explorer running, then the window closes. So now I cant run Microsoft Update.

  • Created sideshow in iPhoto shared with iTunes and now it will not finish when I try to burn it.

    Using Yosemite 10.10.1
Created a slideshow in iPhoto shared with iTunes then created a DVD in iDVD and it plays in Quicktime in my MacBook Pro.
What I'm trying to do is create a DVD that will play in a DVD Player on a TV Screen.
When I try to burn to a DVD it is slow and then freezes in the final phase of burning. However, when I check the DVD nothing has burned. The disc is empty.
    Any ideas?

Here's how to create a video DVD from a slideshow in iPhoto:
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.5 and later select 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

  • I have an iphone 4s, I installed Vtok but the video chatting part of the app is not working when I try to chat with my husband through gmail on his PC. Can I fix this or is there another app that will let me chat with my gmail chat contacts?

Vtok video chatting is not working on my iphone 4s. When I try to do a video chat with my gmail chat contacts who are using a PC we each only get the voice part of the chat and no video. Is there some way to fix this or is there another program that will let me video chat with my gmail chat contacts? Thank you.

    You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

  • HT5622 my apple ID will not work when i try to update my installed apps.  it works fine for itunes and for new apps.

when i try to update my installed apps, my password is not accepted.  it works for everything else.  any ideas?

Those apps must have been purchased under a different Apple ID. You will have to delete and re-purchase/re-download them under the new one to solve this issue.

  • Itunes gives me this error message This copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes (-42037) However, it will not install-- when i try to download from the net it says same message.  How do i reinstall Itunes?

Itunes gives me an error message when I try to open.   "This copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes (-42037) "
Howeever it says the same thing when i try to download from the app store.  How do I get this reinstalled??

First uninstall your copy of Itunes--http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/uninstall-itunes/  (make sure you empty crash)  Then you go to the applications website and reinstall it.  Dont worry about losing any of your music because thats in a separate folder.   Thats it---it works.

  • Itunes will not open/ cannot uninstall quicktime

Since restoring my PC following installation of replacement harddrive, I cannot get into itunes. It says itunes has encountered problem and needs to close. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it will not let me uninstall Quicktunes. I get a DLL function call crashed error. Can anyone help? Thanks/

    Emma,
I was able to get my iTunes working again - I can't remember the exact order of my steps as I was at my wits end, but I did have luck when I followed the Windows Troubleshooting tips for "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
I believe that I did the following steps:
-I installed the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility then opened it via Start/All Programs/Windows Install Cleanup. (see more detailed instructions in the article referenced above.)
    - I selected iTunes from the list and clicked Remove
    - I also selected QuickTime from the list and clicked Remove.
    - I restarted my PC after exiting Windows Installer Cleanup
    - I checked for QuickTime and iTunes in my Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and removed them if they existed
    - I may have restarted my PC again at this point
    - I then downloaded standalone versions of QuickTime (I did this before iTunes) and iTunes. I found the links to the standalone versions of these applications on the same document with the Clean up iTunes Installer files instructions.
    - I did another re-start of my PC
After doing this, my iTunes miraculously worked again and all of my song files were intact from the restore that I did after clearing my hard drive.
I urge you to try this at your own risk... it worked for me, but I'm not an expert. Maybe someone else will see this and can confirm that this is a good fix for you too. I'm sure if you're as frustrated as I was, you are willing to try almost anything!
    Good luck!

  • ITunes will not open or uninstall!!!!

whenever I try to open iTunes there's an error that says "'Document' is not a valid short name" or something, and then tells me that a fatal error occurred during installation.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, but when I try to uninstall, it gives me the same error and won't do it.
So, I'm stuck with a non-working program without the ability to uninstall it.
I also tried to delete the iTunes folder from the Program Files folder on my hard drive, but iTunes helper and some resource thing can't be deleted because they are read only.
    Help please.
    (I have(had) iTunes 8)

Since you have XP take a look at this : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301
Make sure your iTunes Music folder is backed up some place safe before you start.

  • Itunes will not open after uninstall and re-download, I only get a message itunes match accessing itunes store which goes on for a long time

I could not open I-tunes.  I had used it a week before but it was spotty and then eventually it would not open at all.   I uninstalled it then downloaded it.  I restarted the computer.  When I tried to open itunes, I got a message "ITunes match. Accessing iTunes store" and it does not go beyond that.  I've tried this process twice.  I had my Norton support service do a tuneup and they downloaded iTunes but it will still not work. help!

  • ITunes will not open or uninstall/ reinstall

Every time I try to open iTunes (version 7.3 I think) a message pops up that says "This action is only valid to products that are already installed"
And when I try to unistall it/ reinstall it a thing pop's up saying "iTunes setup can not locate iTunes.msi" or something like that.
Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

It sounds as though you have a problem with your installer files and need to use the Miscrosoft Installer cleanup utility:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.
