Firefox will not render the font "maximo" correctly in the browser. It renders correctly in Chrome and Safari. Why is this?

I am designing a website and having difficulty with @fontface in Firefox only. Font is "maximo" and is a ttf. It renders perfectly in Chrome and Safari but will not do so in Firefox. I changed my firefox preferences to allow pages to choose their own fonts and wonder if there is something I am missing. When I checked the Tools menu drop down and opened the inspector, the inspector shows that the font is rendering as Helvetica. I am using a mac and running OS X 10.9.5. I would be happy to send screenshots.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes.
If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

When I am NOT private browsing Firefox will not allow me to delete or change the website address in the location bar. My only remedy is to open a new window and search in google then click the link to that site through google. How can I resolve this?

When I swap to private browsing firefox allows me to anter the website address directly into the location bar - but this is a slow [prcess to swap back and forth - also by dint of using private browsing I loose my website information.

I was running Firefox fine just yesterday. I screwed up the registry a litle while removing an installed program completely, so I restored the system and everything appeared to work fine. I then decided to play an old video game, Return to Krondor, which was made back in 1998, so I ran the program with no other programs running in compatibility for windows 98. After finishing the game, I closed it and put the computer in hibernation mode. I come back today and firefox will not run at all. It is not running in the background and there are no programs running. There are no services running which could interfere with it. I think somehow Firefox may think I'm in compatibility mode still, but I have no idea.
I'm running windows Vista 32 - bit with an AMD 2.4ghz processor, 4gb ram on an Emachine computer. I have already tried system restore, restart, processes etc. Nothing works. I can still run Internet explorer and all other programs.

Firefox will not display characters that were added by the webmaster on user PC?

I employed a company to design a site for me which is great. Then I asked them to add a small button/image in the back end (admin area) that when clicked on will send an email. No image will display so I got them to change it to Text format, still it is not showing on my end. The design company are able to send me emails showing where it is but I cannot see it. It is worthwhile mentioning that it will not display in either IE8 or Opera, Is it a firewall problem ? Or a setting on Windows 7?

Firefox will not open at all. After click the hourglass comes up and then goes away and nothing happens at all. Nothing will load past the desktop. I cannot get into firefox at all to enable anything or disable anything.

When i click on the mozilla icon on the desktop the arrow will spin (VISTA) and will then disappear. Mozilla will not enable or even pop up or anything. I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).

Firefox on my other machine will not visibly launch. There is occasionally a message stating "you already have a Firefox session running, please close it before opening a new one" when I make a second attempt. I have tried to follow all the directions in any of the troubleshooting guides or in the forum posts on other sites, but I cannot even open the Profile Manager or open Firefox in safe mode. We have done a fresh install and that has not helped. Any additional assistance would be appreciated.

You can try to disable the Java Quick starter and the Java Console extension in the Control Panel > Java.

For about a week now, Firefox will not start unless I re-install it, then it works for about a day and does the same thing. I have gone through all of the fixes

I am on the current Firefox version. I am running Windows 7 Professional with all current updates, and I run McAfee. As stated, I have tried all of the possible fixes your site discusses and have made sure McAfee is setup to allow Firefox full access. I am not sure what to do. Suddenly, Firefox will not launch. When I try with the Task Manager up, it never appears on the list of applications.

On a desktop PC running Windows XE, FF will not launch. Has been working very well since we installed FF two weeks ago and made it our default browser. IE launches normally allowing me to post this question. On my laptop, on the same wireless connection, FF works fine. I have rebooted several times. Everything seems normal except for FF. I have run PC Doctor and have fixed all problems that came up. McAfee finds no problems.

Update: After a very long time, perhaps 15 minutes or more, the FF screen comes up blank with the "loading..." message on the first tab. Also, because I tried several times to launch FF, more such screens came up with the same result. My home page never loads. If I stop page loading and try another web site I get the same result.

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?

Firefox will not let me contect to anything in the first inch of the page.

If I use Firefox, I can not connect to any item in the top inch of the page. But if I just connect to the internet with internet explorer, I have no problem and can connect to anything on the page. Its bad because most of the pages have the main things at the top. It does not matter if the page is full size or smaller.

Firefox will not load page unless i'm moving the coursor

I'm using a samsung NC10 and upgraded firefox yesterday, since then no internet pages will load unless I'm constantly moving the cursor with the touchpad. IE seems to work fine.
It's particularly a problem with video streaming (eg 4od), the sound stays on but the pictures freeze until i move the cursor again
