Firefox won't display website buttons

On my Windows 7 64 bit desktop, Firefox displays all link buttons as text only. Most are in a blue box, but some are simply not displayed at all. The button is invisible. This is on Ebay, Google, Scottrade, etc. All other browsers display properly. All other computers display properly.
I have repeatedly uninstalled and deleted the Mozilla folder and re-installed to no avail. All plug ins are up to date.

Hi,
You can try the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''.
(To revert to the previous profile you were using, close the new profile, start Firefox and choose the '''Default User''' profile. While the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Profile Manager] is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers), or the former profile, as the case may be).

  • Firefox won't display website properly on my new asus-explorer displays fine

Opening a website, let's say Google, and selecting 'images', gives one screen of photos but scrolling down yields no more photos, just a blank screen. Most websites don't show all the info previously there. Such as stock numbers in the margins. Same websites are fine in Explorer. I don't like Explorer. Laptop is new Asus. Screen resolution is set to 'recommended'. I think it's 1366x768.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Firefox won't display ANY videos, but Chrome/IE will.

It's all in the title really. FF won't display any videos. In Youtube, the screen is black, apart from the red "play" button in the middle. When I click play it says "an error has occurred". In any other video sites the video section is blank, white. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. Firefox is also fully updated.

hello, yes, you'd have to uninstall flash from the windows control panel in windows7 (just diabling it in firefox won't work in this case). alternatively you could run the uninstaller-tool that adobe provides on its website: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

  • Firefox won't display Courier

Firefox 14 simply won't display Courier on my system. Every instance of Courier is replaced by Courier New, and it makes my website look improper (I want the aliased look of the original Courier font). Why won't Firefox 14 use Courier?

Firefox 15 ''might'' allow you to display Courier and some other bitmap fonts. At least that's the impression I get from this bug (fixed for Firefox 15): [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=749139 749139 – MS bitmap fonts are not rendered as expected even if Hardware Acceleration disabled]. If you want to experiment with the beta, you can download it here: [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/]. However, since it's such an early beta, you may end up with more problems than you solve.

  • When trying to view photos from a Facebook post, Firefox won't display photos

I can view Facebook photos on the home page and in photo albums. But Firefox will not display photos on the home page when I click on the photo to see the larger version.

    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Firefox won't display toolbars.

Firefox will only display the one bookmarks toolbar. I've tried options show more than one toolbar, add toolbar. I've tried uninstalling and starting fresh. I've tried downloading 3rd party toolbars like shoutcast radio, and it will show as an add-on but will not display as a toolbar.

I'm not sure what you mean?
Do you have a problem with one of the default toolbars?
If you create a new toolbar in "View > Toolbars > Customize" the you need to place something on that toolbar before clicking the Done button.
    Empty toolbar are removed automatically.
In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • Firefox won't display an image from one directory, but will from another. IE displays both.

I have some very simple logo jpgs I want to add to www.foautah.org. I have been having a problem where IE will show the jpgs, but Firefox won't. I have narrowed it down to a very simple test and found that in a little html test page: test.foautah.org/test.html Firefox will load two images from one directory (graphics), but not from another (sponsors). The images are identical copies. IE shows both from both directories.
NEVER MIND. After wasting hours, it finally dawned on me that Adblock might be doing something. Turns out it hides anything with "sponsors" in it. Time to rename my directory. Argh!!!

  • Firefox won't load websites, no error message

Firefox updated to 20.0.1 today. Now it won't load websites. I don't get an error message or the "in process" wheel. I can access websites through internet explorer. I updated internet security but it didn't help.

Check your Windows Firewall preferences and see if it isn't blocking Firefox from showing websites. Also have you checked your internet connection? If your internet connection is working fine yet you can not access any website then it can also have an error. If so I recommend you uninstall and install it again. Sometimes in the process of downloading it can come corrupted, then if possible, download again the newest version of Firefox and install it. But do not forget to check the Firewall.

  • Firefox won't display changes to site after putting to remote host; refresh doesn't work

I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my machine, and since it was wiped clean I installed CS5, reconfigured my Dreamweaver site, and made changes to our index.html page (so far).  After putting the files to my remote server, I noticed that Firefox does not display the changes I made to that file - it is showing the page last saved on my CS4 version.  Figuring this was a cache problem, I emptied it, refreshed/reloaded several times, restarted Firefox - nothing worked.
I checked the page in IE8 and all the changes appear correctly.  I used BrowserLab to preview in IE, Firefox (same version 3.6 that I use) and Safari, and all 3 display correctly the updated version of the page.  Viewing in "live" Firefox seems to be the problem, and I've searched everywhere for answers. Help is needed and appreciated!

    Some things to try:
    1) In Firefox > Tools > Clear recent history.
    2) Try adding a last modified meta tag to your index page.
    <meta http-equiv="Last-Modified" content="07 February, 2011  at 16:43:39" />
    3) Use an anonymous proxy

Probably you could start the oracle database with SQLPLUS, and it will output the errors in dialog.
    Eks:
    log on as sidadm:
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    sql> startup
It will tell you if any table spaces are in recoverymode or offline.

  • Firefox won't display my photos

    Hi,
My iWeb website, photothemes.com, has been posted for a few months now, and has almost 1,000 hits. Feedback has been good. Unfortunately, the latest version of Firefox, 3.0.1, will not display the photo thumbnails in my "album" pages, although everything else works well. Earlier versions of Firefox also worked well. Currently, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Camino all display the pages properly.
To see what I'm talking about, open Firefox 3.0.1 and go to photothemes.com; then click on any of the "Links to My Photo Albums."
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    1)
Download and install latest updates for Leopard. Click on Apple menu / Software Update. Latest OS X version is 10.5.4.
    2)
Open your site in iWeb, go to you photos gallery page and do some kind of "fake" change on each photo page. Like add a text box and then delete it so that iWeb thinks that you changed something. But you really didn't.
    3)
Save your work in iWeb by clicking on File / Save
    4)
If you are using MobileMe then click on File / Publish ALL to MobileMe.
If you are using FTP, click on File / Publish to Folder and upload and replace the entire website (not just changes).
I hope this helps. It helped me.

  • Firefox won't display "popup windows"

What I mean when I say popup windows are for example you go to UPS.com, you fill in your tracking number then you hit the display proof of delivery, a smaller window usually pops up showing that information, for me, I just get a huge blank gray screen. It also happens when I go to a support website for example and click on live chat, that window that should be popping up doesn't display. Tried reinstalling firefox and that didn't seem to fix it either.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

  • Firefox won't display a web page. It starts, I see it in Task manager but it doesn't do anything. It used to work just fine. I had troubkle with my service provider, they got the net to work again but firefox doesn't do anything. Explorer works.

I uninstalled firefox and re-installed it from download. No difference. When I boot my computer, the internet doesn't start automatically anymore. I have to go into network manager and start it myself. Don't know why. My on-line windows help won't connect to the net either.

Sounds like a broken profile. • Firefox won't display at all, comp thinks it's there but nothing.redid plugins also, no help. thanks, Steve

Hi, firefox was working fine for the longest time and suddenly, it just wouldn't display on my screen. The icon is there, it looks like it's trying to load and nothing happens. I uninstalled it and reinstalled, didn't help. Did the updates on 2 plugins, that didn't help either. It seems the comp thinks firefox is up and running but there's just no moniter display at all. I know this as when I do a comp clean up, it will tell me to shut down Firefox first before continuing. Not sure why this has happened suddenly. Any help and instruction would be really appreciated. Thanks, Steve. I've tried everything I know.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
