Firefox won't install bc of "Unsupported Architecture" when I clearly meet the System Requirements?

I installed Firefox 4.0 and upon clicking on the mounted image, I dragged and dropped the program into my applications folder, then because of unsupported architecture the program wouldn't launch. However, I read the system requirements before installation and I meet all of the above. I have a PowerMac w/ a Dual 1.8Ghz PowerPC G5 based processor, 1GB DDR SDRAM, and a 320GB Hard Drive running Mac OSX 10.5.8. After which I had to delete the program and restore firefox 3.6.16 using Time Machine.

Firefox 4 doesn't run on a PowerPC Mac.<br />
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

  • Does not meet the system requirement for installing BB App World

I bought a Curve 8520 in Singapore yesterday. When i tried to download App world into this phone, it says "my phone does not meet the system requirement for the software".  does it refer to hardware specification or the BB O/s version on the phone. How can fix it because being able to use App world is one of the purposes that i buy a BB.
Also, How about MS Live Messenger , facebook ?  Do I need to install them seperately through App World?
    Please help!

    Hi there!
Please see these links for reference:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp#tab_tab_system_requirements
    http://www.blackberry.com/app_includes/devicesoftware/appworld/appworld_availability_en.html
A key component in accessing AppWorld is your carrier -- if they are not delivering it, then you can't get it. If you don't have an adequate plan from them that incudes it, then you can't get it. Hence, if you meet the hardware requirements AND it is available in your country, then you need to contact your carrier to find out how you can get it via their network.
All that said, AppWorld is merely a storefront, vending apps developed by others...there are many other storefronts available that don't have the same restrictions.
    Good luck!

  • HT201364 Why can Maverick not be installed on my computer when I meet the system requirements?

I got my iMac in July 2007, which I believe is mid-2007, I am currently running v.10.6.8, have 2 GB memory and over 100 GB of available space. This to me meets the system requirements, so why do I get the "cannot be installed on this computer" message when I try to upgrade to Maverick?

Something does not match up.  Check your year of manufacture.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space

  • I would like to run the most secure version of firefox on my computer, but my computer does not meet the system requirements for the latest version

i would like to run the most secure version of firefox on my computer, but my computer does not meet the system requirements for the latest version. is there a way i can have the security of firefox 8 and still be able to run it on my old computer. i currently an running firefox 3.6. it is a bit slow, but it is functional.

Currently Firefox 3.6.24 is as secure as Firefox 8.0.1 is. Firefox 3.6.x will continue to get security updates until next spring, although the exact date hasn't yet been determined.
Which of the system requirements are you lacking? <br />
Processor wise you're stuck with what you got, but RAM can be upgraded. WinXP is still supported in all versions of Firefox and will be continued to be supported until Windows drops support for WinXP sometime in 2014.

  • I have the system requirements but it won't install

I've downloaded the version compatible with my computer but it says does not meet the system requirements. It's not a new computer but everything has always worked fine on it. I had uninstalled the old version as I read online that uninstalling and reinstalling should fix the problem but that didn't happen. Any help is appreciated

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From what you describe, your internet connection is the culprit. Until the download completes (all parts, not just some of the parts as you have now), you cannot run the exe file and install the software. I find it a little odd that the CD forces a download, but the carriers actually are responsible for that distribution when they sell to their end users. In any event, internet connectivity is important so that updates and such can be accomplished as they are released.
Just to be sure, are you downloading from here?
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
From there, you can get either the PC or MAC version of the Desktop Software.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Why won't Maverick Install.  Meet all system requirements.

So, my 2009 MacBook Pro is running 10.7.5 (Lion), and meets the system requirements having 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and the memory required.  It has an 2.33 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor.
When I click "install" in the App Store it states, "OS X Mavericks cannot be installed on this computer," with "We could not complete your purchase," above.  When I click "learn more," it sends me to the system requirements page, thus why I explained my setup.  I verified and checked the stuff in Disk Utility and there were no issues.
I just got an iPhone 6 Plus and with running the newest iOS 8 it requires one to have Maverick or Yosemite, eventually, installed to access iCloud Drive, so I'd like to complete the update to my OSX.  Any ideas?

Installer reports "OS X could not be installed on your computer" or "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"
    I would do this first:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

  • I wish to install Mozilla Firefox as my Browser having re-installed XP Home Edition on my 'old' Dell losing my Service packs, so Firefox won't install.

As I am on the early XP, without any Service packs, I want to up-date to SP3. The Microsoft Website won't offer any help. Firefox won't install and I need a prompt to send me in the right direction.
I am using IE version 6.00 and it is refused access to updates because it is so old.
The 'old' Dell runs well but had suffered my bad management one night resulting in the need to re-install XP. It is my second PC and I am running 8.1 on my newer machine, so I can access help topics.
What is my next step please?

See if this works to get the XP2 and XP3 updates.

V11 iTunes installs fine, iPod found, no iPhone 5 b/c no AMDS.  Error "insufficient premissions to install AMDS" Tried numerous uninstall / reinstall combinations, installed iTunes as administrator, etc.  Somethings not right. What the Heck ?

See the following article for dealing with Apple Mobile Device Services: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
Downloading and installing iTunes will not fix this problem. If the other troubleshooting steps do not work, go to the Control Panel and uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Services, Quicktime and any other Apple program that might be present. Reboot your computer, then download and install the latest version of iTunes.

  • Firefox won't let me select options from drop down menus, on the previous version nor on the current 4.0 version that I just downloaded.

If I am on a site and trying to get information etc, and I have to choose from a drop down menu of any kind, Firefox won't let me choose anything. I can't answer the next question regarding This Happened because I can't select from your drop down.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • When going to my hometown paper's site I get a dropdown banner that says Firefox has prevented this site from reloading ,but when I click on the allow button you have on the banner nothing happens so why is the button there?

When I go to the local paper's from Elmira,NY and some other sites I get a drop down banner at the top of the page that tell me Firefox has prevented this page from reloading, but when I go to the allow button that you put on the right side of the banner and click on it the banner goes away and then it comes right back. It will come back every time you click allow until I click on the x box. So I want to know why is the allow button there if it does nothing?

Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Advanced and in the General tab, remove the checkmark from "'''Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page'''".
You won't get that dropdown banner anymore afterwards.

Hey Luis. I not only remember…I still have mine (OS 9)!  Works perfectly well…for some things; just need to be selective about what I ask it to do. (Also have its big brother Pismo running Tiger, which is still an extremely competent machine.) When I take them out of their cases, I'm still amazed at the G3's build quality.

  • FC Express HD doesn't install regardless of meeting min system requirements

hi. Has anyone else had this experience? I've tried to install FCE on my system - power mac G4, OS X 10.4.7, 867 MHz Processor, 640 MB SDRAM. all of which meet min system requirements. But it won't install. On the install screen, it gives me livetype and its media, and soundtrack and its media as options to install, and I did in fact install them but FCE is always grayed-out.
    Any ideas? Many thanks.

Which version is this, 3 or 3.5? Which computer is this exactly? Is it running an upgrade card? You should contact Apple if you have an installation problem.
