  • Firefox crashes on load, just displays Crash Reporter

For the last three weeks or so, when I try to start Firefox (v26.0) it crashes and the Crash Reporter is displayed
Clicking to start Firefox again just displays the Crash Reporter again
    I have tried:-
    1. resetting firefox (using the reset option in troubleshooting)
    2. uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox (including removing setting information)
    3. disabling hardware acceleration
    4. disabling all extensions and add-ins
    5. creating a new profile
but it is still the same
I have also tried starting Firefox in safe mode. Sometimes when I hold down the shift key and start Firefox, the crash reporter appears and sometimes I can start Firefox in safe mode
the latest crash report is at

  • Firefox won't load pages, but other browsers will.

Firefox won't load any internet pages, but different browsers, both Chrome and Explorer work, I havent tried others. I've un-installed, changed the name of the folder of the plug-ins that were left so it wouldn't recognize them, then re-installed nothing happened. I've checeked for viruses, proxies, and i'm pretty sure its not a firewall, I think we only have one and I checked it, plus there is no prompt asking me if I want to allow firefox to access the internet. It won't run in safe mode, so its not any add-ons, clearing the cache didn't do anything either. Its also not in offline mode. What else could it be?

    Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

  • Firefox won't load google image search results

Firefox won't load google search results. It will load the page of results with the thumbnails etc. but if you click any of them, just a loading spinning icon appears on the tab and it never loads.
    I have tried:
Both logged in and out of google account,
All other areas of google work with no problems (news, shopping etc.),
Site working perfectly in Internet Explorer,
    Running firefox in safemode,
Manually disabling all plugins and addons,
    Clearing the cache and cookies,
Opening results in new tab just results in white page with web address but it never loads,
Restarting both my PC and router.
It's not been working for at least the past 6 hours. Last time I used it was about a week ago and it was working fine then. I've not noticed any problems on any other sites this week that I can recall.

Updating firefox to version 17.0 appears to have solved this.

I just updated to 3.6.11 and now firefox won't load any webpage it
just times out I tried diableing add-ons no difference. I't on internet exploers now. Tried rebooting.

Do you use McAfee Antivirus/Firewall/Security products? McAfee released a security update that is blocking Firefox 3.6.11. This should be cleared up with the next McAfee update.

  • My Firefox won't load any websites, but other web browsers will. I have tried following the proxy help to fix this, with no luck. What can I do next?

Any website I try to visit using Firefox won't load, it just keeps saying that it is unable to connect. I tried other web browsers, and they work no problem. I tried following the proxy steps provided, but did not help.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

If you use a Firefox 4 beta release then you should create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

  • Firefox won't load web pages all the way, what can I do to fix this

I have this problem where firefox won't load any webpages all the way and if I try refreshing the page it shows some of the webpage but not the whole thing....and now it won't load any images either. I have tried everything that i could think of and nothing works. I can't watch anything on youtube or go on facebook and google won't work either.

There seems to be something of a pattern in that those are all secure sites (HTTPS address). Have you noticed any certificate errors recently that you might have solved by adding an exception, or does everything seem normal otherwise?
    Here are the usual things:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

I found a fix for this, not only firefox but several other networking programs were broken as well (Outlook and IE were ok for some reason) so I reasoned that the Norton uninstall was incomplete somehow - I had done it from the add/remove programs in the control panel. Sure enough that's not enough to release Norton's tentacles in your system, there's an uninstall tool on their website (a whole set of them actually) that managed to carve it out completely and after a restart everything was back to normal. My machines will definitely be Norton-free from now on ... N

  • Firefox won't load check images from my online bank.

Firefox won't load check images from my online bank. It had been doing so with no problems, but stopped 2 days ago. I can get into my account and navigate with no problems. But when I click to see the image of a check, I get a blank page.
I am using Firefox 3.6, but I have the same problem on my laptop with Firefox 4
It works fine with Safari and Internet Explorer.

If you can't open them in Firefox anymore (you seem to have a plugin: View PDF documents within your web browser) then download the documents to the desktop and open them with a program that can open PDF files.

  • Firefox won't load homepage when launched and crashes when closed.

Last night, while I was in Firefox, a notification popped up that updater.exe had been downloaded. I could easily take a guess: a new version of Firefox was out. I closed Firefox and then had the updater do its thing.
When Firefox then launched & came up with a blank screen (like what you would see with New Tab), I was a little confused. I checked Tools > Options and the general tab was still set to show the homepage when Firefox starts up (Xfinity). I also went through all the other tabs and found that nothing had been changed. It was 18.0, as shown in "About Firefox" so I was scratching my head as to what was going on. Humoring myself, I clicked the "home" Icon, and sure enough it toop me to my homepage. Figuring I'd take a shot at it later, I closed Firefox (The red X in the upper right).
Then things took a stranger turn. Upon closing, the Mozilla Crash Report screen popped up. I figured this was a one-time thing, so I didn't send a report. I launched Firefox again, and again I got a blank screen. Upon closing, the Crash Report screen popped up again. To ensure this was just something with Firefox, I launched Internet Explorer. It showed the homepage upon launch, and didn't crash when closed.
Now, upon getting the troubleshoot information, I discovered another twist: When I go to close one of the tabs, Forefox crashes.
This has me scratching my head. Before I updated, everything was perfectly fine. Now I run into this. Any thoughts?

Alright, I just tried to reset (help > Troubleshooting > click 'Reset Firefox'. It said it would try to hold onto bookmarks, passwords, etc). When it closes, we hit the Crash Report screen again. Launching Firefox reveals nothing has changed (Theme being the same is the give-away). I'd say that hasn't worked as of yet.
I typed about:crashes and copy/pasted everything in the "details" tab. If the "Raw Dump" tab would be more effective, just say so and I'll add that

  • Multiple crashes daily of mozilla firefox with windows operating system. Crash reports sent but no change.

for the past 4 weeks, firefox crashes daily multiple times. I already have it set to send the crash report to mozilla but no change/help from firefox. why the constant crashing?

    Hi bostongio9
Your crashes all have a different crash signature.
You can try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 18.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Maybe also do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • FireFox won't load pages, but IE explorer can.

This happens at random times when I have 2 separate windows open. When I'm trying to load a page, the browser either won't load or it's taking too long to respond to the connection. The only way I can resolve is by closing and open FireFox. But then I have to forcefully close the exe file under task manager(in which I don't like to do in most cases.) or restart my PC and it's really becoming annoying.
