Firefox won't open 4kids.tv web site

There are 4 children who use this web site on my computer; http://www.4kids.tv, it loads then disappears then tries to reload but never does.
URL of affected sites
http://www.4kids.tv

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

• I can't open my work web site it lets me go right to the login page and won't open how can I fix this

I can't open my work web site it let's me go to the login page then it won't go any further how do I fix this

To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser feature in Firefox 4, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste html5 and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click html5.parser.enable to toggle it to false (it will turn bold).
Then return to your work site and reload the page.
Does that make any difference? If so, you can leave it that way. If not, you might as well switch it back (double-click that preference again to toggle it back to true.)
If not, and you need to roll back, here's the process:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 4.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

The graphic is partially shown. You can see only text and you can't orient yourself.

firefox won't open...keep getting "404 not found" WHY? HELP

The 404 message usually indicates a web page can not be found. If you are seeing that message in Firefox then Firefox is up and running but either having problems connecting to the web or not finding a specific target page. Sometimes the address may be wrong, sometimes the site may not be available.
Have you written this message whilst using Firefox on another computer ?

Is it one particular website you are having a problem with, if so what is that site, and what is the web address as written in the location bar. If it is many pages give at least two examples please.
Copy and paste the location bar contents into your post
* Keyboard key Ctrl + L (press the Control key hold it down than press the L key) that will highlight the location bar content, do that while trying to use the web page

• I can't open any Danish web sites - PLEASE HELP !!

It's very weird, since yesterday haven't been able to open any Danish web sites.
As soon as it ends with .dk it won't open the page. And seeing that my web site ends with .dk I can't get my personal e-mail to my mail program either.
This is not only Firefox. It's all my browsers.
I'm on an iBook G3.
I cleared cashes - cookies etc. Nothing's working. And I've been able to open all the websites from other computers, so the problem must be coming from mine.
PLEASE HELP !!

I'm definately no network specialist, just heared an emergency call ..
my guess, try...:
system prefs/network...
select your network settings, click on "TCP/IP" ...
paste into DNS Server (any or all...)
213.191.74.19
213.191.92.87
131.234.39.10
131.234.39.11
131.234.137.23
131.234.137.24
195.8.224.1
195.8.224.1
these are some German DNS servers, which allow (me...) to access any, even Danish websites ...
I'm pretty sure, there're lots of Danish DNS Server, which works faster/more reliable, but just give it a try, how it works...........
unfortunately, I don't have the IPs of any danish DNS... as said, me no specialist, I just know, "these works"

Any ideas?

In order to test the problem, I think my suggestion is better; at least as a first try. Without Firefox running and without ~/.mozilla; no misconfiguration should prevent Firefox to run. The options you suggest will try to disable any problematic configuration. It can be usefull if you need to start Firefox to fix a configuration problem; but as a firt try renaming the ~/.mozilla is better because you are sure that Firefox can't read anything that can hurt it. Only after having figured out that a bad ~/.mozilla is the cause of the problem, we can try to fix the configuration (or restart with a new configuration).

• Firefox won't open after re-installing and can't remove from control panel. What do I do?

After a storm and short power failure, I started having trouble with certain sites loading, and pages moving slower. I emptied my cache and defragged and ran total virus/ malware scan, but still had problem. (Pages loaded fine on AOL) I decided to uninstall Firefox and re-install to help fix problem. I did this, and now Firefox won't open, no matter if I double click, right click (open), or go through "all programs". I tried to uninstall and re-install again, but now I can't get it to respond through my control panel, either.

Try the procedures in the Firefox will not start article.

• Firefox won't open, says profile may be missing or inaccessable, help pages not helpful

Firefox won't open at all. I get a "Profile Missing" window saying "it may be missing or inaccessable". This morning my connection quit mid-reset while it said it was going through everything and not to turn it off, since then it refuses to open. I tried everything I could think of. Tonight I managed to open an ancient IE and am here now, tried as much of the "Help Pages" suggestions as the site sent me to (none were what my computer has even though I'm running XP), but nothing fixed the problem. I removed Firefox and then re-installed, twice, it still won't open.
HELP!

I can find NO "profiles.ini" file anywhere. When I open the "default library" there are none of the files you say should be there.
I have tried a whole new download to update, it won't open because there is no profile.
I tried removing the program and re-downloading, still won't open.
I am not tech savvy enough to do much of the messing around you are suggesting. I need someone to help!
Also - this site is about the least "user friendly" site I've had to deal with in ages!
I should have been able to reply to the email, but you didn't allow that, too.
I need someone to somehow walk me through what to do. HELP!

• How to open an existing web site?

Hello,
Hoping someone can help me here.  I have a web site that I have made using iWeb.  When I upgraded to Lion I had MAJOR issues that ended up in a new hard drive and logic board.  :-(  I restored my documents from time machine.  Now I want to update my web site, but whenever I open iWeb it wants me to create a new web site!  There is NO open command.  How do I get iWeb to open my exsisting web site so I can edit it?  I tried to double click my index file, but it opened in Firefox...
Thanks in advance
Eric Yerington

The Domain file, or Domain.sites2 to give it its full title, is what you need to open your site(s) in iWeb.
Lion doesn't want to open this file for some reason.
Download the app referred to on this page under "iWeb and Lion" and launch it to get this window...
http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/iWeb-Tips.html
... and click the "Choose Domain.." button to browse to the file and open it in iWeb.

• How do i download 5.0? i cant open the fasfa web site for school

how do i download 5.0? i cant open the fasfa web site for school

1) I suggest you download the given version of Firefox.  See my post above.  This version  will probably work on your machine.
2) Change the identity of Safari. See:
http://www.alanwood.net/demos/browser-identification.html
3) User agent switcher for firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/
4) Download iCab.  It let's you set any web identity you wish.
http://icab.de/
Try going to the library.
So, lie about what browser you were using.  I thought it was a nineties thing.
This appears to be a real 'Nineties' web site software.  When IE came out in '95, IE would claim to be Netscape so as to fool the web site into letting it into the site.  Web sites in those days checked for a particular version and type of the web browser. The site would only let that version and type grace the site ( interact with).  The site software is supposed to check for the capabilities of the browser and act accordingly.

• Firefox 8.0.1 - Photos on web sites are green

Since upgrading to 8.0.1, color and B&W photos on all web sites have patches of green in them. I opened the same web sites in both Chrome and IE, and all photos look normal. Is this a bug? Please advise.

That can be caused by a problem with the color profile for your display monitor or color profiles embedded in images.<br />
You can disable color management to test that.<br />
You can set the pref gfx.color_management.mode to 0 on the about:config page to disable Color Management.<br />
You need to close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.
See:
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/gfx.color_management.mode

• Tried to use Restore to return to pre-Firefox4 but now Firefox won't open and won't uninstall.

After trying to maneuver the new Firefox 4.0 for a while and giving up, I wanted to go back to the 3.6.1.6 version. I used the Restore feature to try to go back to the pre-Firefox 4.0 dowload. Since then, Firefox won't open. I have tried to uninstall Firefox 3.6.1.6, which is listed in my installed programs in the Control Panel, but it doesn't do anything. At this point I don't know what to do. I want to re-instate the 3.6.1.6 version on my computer. Thanks.

You're in a bit of a pickle here because you can't use System Restore to revert to 3.6.16. You probably now have version 1.9.2.x which is in part, files which were not removed when you installed FF4
What you can try and do is use System Resore to undo the last restoration which should take you back to 4.0 again. If that fails, see this article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_firefox
If the undo restoration is successful, do the following to revert to 3.6.16
Go to Download Firefox v3.6.16 and download it to the desktop. If necessary, download the file with IE8 and choose to save it to your desktop when you see the prompt.
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.
