You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe mode:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Firefox won't start on first click

Everytime I try to open Firefox by simply double clicking on it, it won't work. In order to make it open I double click on it many times. I always get a couple of Firefox windows but not the exact same quantity as the times I double clicked on it. Help please.

Ok so I looked at whe the main problems were and it seems as though they were in my Wordpress widgets. I disabled those and now everything is clickable.
Only thing I'm not quite sure of is that the errors say that I have tags open or I missed closing them. But everything seems ok. I don't know the language that well (only very very basic stuff)
I'll try and see if I can figure it out. I think I'm putting and font tags where I am not suppose to

This was the problem with mine. I had to remove mozilla firefox from my trusted programs in my antivirus firewall settings and then open firefox... it added it back in. The problem occured when my AVG updated.

Facebook loads fine on multiple PCs and Macs in any number of browsers but NOT with Firefox on any of them. Started Friday AM. It tries to load but takes FOREVER and never gets "up". Frustrating since FF is my browser of choice despite the fact it has recently become the slowest of all the browsers I've tried. Be nothing like THIS slow. Other sites seem to be unaffected, just Facebook.

What you describe look like a problem of infection, for me.
I have W7 and FF34 as you, and FF is faster than Chromium.
So, except a problem of corruption of the code of your Firefox (and maybe problems generated by some addons or plugins), I' rather believe that there is malware(s) on your computer.
For FB, it could be the adware pushow**.dll, like pushow35.dll, in c:\windows\system32
What security programs do you use on your computer ?
If you want, you could also try to start Firefox in "safe mode", to see if there is a difference of speed and on FB.

Firefox won't start on windows 7. Used to word when it was on version 18. I have different windows 7 machine it works fine on that.

firefox won't start on windows 7 after upgrading to version 19 or 20. Even if it starts up I cannot do anything on it, its in not responding mode. I have tried uninstalling and installing again with both version 19 and 20. Also i tried deleting the profile and re creating a new profile.

When I try to click on firefox, the little wait icon appears and then disappears. Nothing opens, not even safe mode. I've looked at the "Firefox won't start and there is no error message" help section and looked at my task manager processes. It seems that when I click firefox, it briefly appears on my processes and then disappears. This happened yesterday while I was in the middle of using it. At the same time, my Skype also crashed, which makes me think the two are correlated. The two programs still don't work. The only way that I can open firefox is if I install it all over again with the "launch firefox now" option checked at the end. Firefox won't start (not even in Safe Mode) on Windows 7 x64

I am Running Windows 7 x64 and Firefox 3.6.15.
Since the day before yesterday I am unable to start Firefox. Even in Safe Mode it just won't start.
I click the Firefox icon, the mouse cursor changes to indicate the computer is doing something. After 3 seconds or so the mouse cursor again changes back to its default state. Nothing else happens.
The Task Manager in Windows shows me that an instance of firefox.exe is running, but I see no Firefox window.
Then if I again click to open Firefox, another firefox.exe instance starts, but again I see no Firefox window.
There isn't even a warning about one instance of Firefox already running.
What I have tried:
I have uninstalled Firefox, removed all the Firefox files and folders from c:\users\username\AppData\Local and Roamning. I re-downloaded the 3.6.15 installation package and re-installed.
No change.

I have the same problem.
The only Firefox version working is the 64bit nightly build 6.0a1. No 32Bit version of Firefox works!. Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer all work well.
Another Problem I have in this context is, that the Firefox Installer hangs in the tidy up step - even for the nightly 64Bit version. I have to kill the setup.exe process but the Installation seems to be completed.
Before my change to Win7 64Bit I had OpenText NFS Solo 14 installed on a 32Bit Windows7 and no Problems.
Is there a solution for this problem without uninstalling OpenText NFS Solo 14?
I need the NFS Server at work.

Firefox won't start. Everytime I end the process/close the last window, it keeps getting stuck at about 2500k memory in the task manager. The only way I have to fix it is to change some kind of compability settings or try and access it in a new way, and every time it crashes/closed/computer blue screens that setting will no longer work.
That is a short term solution, but eventually I'll run out of ways to access firefox successfully. I've tried many solutions, and some worked, but only once. I have yet to find a permanent solution for this problem.

Sometimes Firefox won't start at all. If I restart the laptop, it does eventually start up. I am wondering if it is having problems with BitDefender wh;ich we have installed on the laptop and appears to be slowing online work.

When this occurs, Internet Explorer usually will start, but sometimes it is affected also and similarly will not start until the laptop is re-booted. I have tried all possible ways of starting Firefox but there doesn't seem to be any difference. Occasionally Firefox will start after some other work is done on the laptop without re-booting. Other work requiring an internet connection (updates mostly) do not seem to be affected ie. they work OK even when Firefox and Internet Explorer won't start. When I say "won't start" there is no message or anything, they just won't start.
