Firefox wont load

displays missing profile or inaccessable,i have spent hours trying to correct this without success, any help greatly appreciated,thanks Terry

Apparently you or something else has done something like moved the profile or changed its permissions. The initial solution is to make Firefox use a new profiles. The easiest method is probably to use the profile manager. That involves running Firefox using the command

Figuring out what happened to your existing profile is the next step, any ideas what happened to it, did you do or notice something immediately before this problem occurred ?
Note the files may be hidden but if you search for the file ''places.sqlite'' (the History & Bookmarks database) you should be able to locate any existing profiles.

about:config into the nav bar
toggle dom.storage.enabled to 'true'

Hi, my firefox wont load websites but other browsers like internet explorer , chrome can . This problem occurs when i use my company's router ?

my company have two internet connection ; 1 is dsl connection , firefox working fine on it ; 2 is my company's own cisco 2911 cisco router with internet connection , firefox wont loading pages except just the homepage of google.com and that's it , and the problem is that whole company is using company's internet connection which means that firefox is death for all of us.
Reseting firefox works but just for one day and after that it stuck again. also tried other solutions like malware removal , re installing firefox etc but not worked

i have searched alot on the internet and got the solution , it was a thread known as "l.yimg.com". every time i open a website ,it stucks in "transferring data from l.yimg.com" , so what i did is;
1) End the process "random.exe" from task manager
2) Delete all the history and cookies of the infected browser.
3) Opened Registry Editor and delete these malicious entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ L.yimg.com
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\L.yimg.com \DisplayName L.yimg.com
HKEY_USER\.default\environment\temp
HKEY_USER\s-1-5-18\environment\temp
HKEY_USER\ s-1-5-19\environment\temp and so on
4) Search those malicious files on your hard disk and completely delete all of its components.

it really worked for me , if anyone have the same problem then try it , hopefully it will work for you too.

Firefox wont load any flash player videos and when it does it only buffers so far. I can't download anything like anti-mal/spyware to check if its anything like that.

Try to boot the computer in Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.
Do you have access to another computer to download the anti-mal/spyware programs and put them on a USB stick with the latest updates or their databases?
You can also try to download them via sites like FileHippo.

hi, such issues are often caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

I have downloaded Firefox for 7.0 ....it use to work about 6 months ago then quit......I have tried to reload multiple time and it still wont load....no err msgs

Do you mean Firefox 7.0 the version released in September of 2011? Unfortunately, it's not possible for forum volunteers to support such old versions of Firefox.
Or do you mean the current version of Firefox for Windows 7? Could you describe the problem in more detail: you double-click the Firefox shortcut and just nothing happens?

i downloaded firefox awhile ago worked perfectly fine then all a sudden it wont load facebook background images the homepage of facebook loads background image but when i log in it wont load background image but when i try internet explorer it loads the background images fine i checked every setting redownloaded everyhing nothing fix's it tho

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains (e,g, sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net).
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

Every Time i remove my firefox cache you tube and yahoo and other pages wont load completely or will load with errors. Anyone know why this is happening?

Sometimes you only disable the user interface of security software, but the firewall services are still running in the background.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

I open firefox and it never loads any websites. The screen and website bar stay blank. This has never happened before. I turned my computer off last night, but I honestly don't see how that could do anything. Please help!

Firefox wont load websites

Hi, My firefox browser has stopped working and I dont know why. I went to a strange foriegn website at the descresion of an ebay seller to download a driver for a controller I had bought. Shortly after that I saw a message from my Norton Security that gmpopem264.dll was safe which I thought was strange. So I located that file and deleted it. Later I found out that I needed it for Firefox to work. And at that point my browser stopped working. I can open Firefox but it wont let me go to any websites. It just continually loads and doesn't even display an error message. then if I close out of the browser I can't reopen and get the message "Firefox is already open in another instance" with an option to close firefox, but when I push the button it doesn't close and I can't open firefox again unless I restart my computer. I see that it is still running in task manager but when I try to end the process nothing happens.
Fixes I have tried include:
clearing my cache
and also I refreshed firefox by holding down the SHIFT key and opening the browser setting it back to the default settings but the issue persists.
Not sure how I can fix this, any help is appreciated. Thanks

What would you have done if Norton said the file was bad?
Did you find out what that file was for?
You should not delete any program file unless you want to remove
it's whole setup. I am sorry if it looks like I am talking down to you,
but doing such things could end up with the computer making a

In such cases, IF the profile is the problem, have the user create a new
profile. Once the issue is gone, the old profile can be rebuilt in the new.

I have Windows 7, and run Firefox Beta 36.0. I have it set to update automatically, and it seems there was an update yesterday, and now Firefox will not load any pages.
I have tried changing the proxy settings, configuring the firewall, and restarting my computer; none of them worked. :(
After configuring the firewall, there are now two Mozilla Firefox programs shown (in the allowed programs and features list)? I had made sure to delete, then re-add them, but it made two Mozilla Firefoxes in the list appear. Not sure if this effects anything though.

Ah, I figured it out by changing the firewall settings on Norton to allow for firefox and the firefox add-on, instead of auto. Hopefully putting the setting on allow instead of auto wont make me vulnerable to security threats!
I was about to cry haha, Chrome wouldn't download as I wanted to use it until I could find a solution, and I though I would be stuck with IE for forever. xD

I was on Facebook and the page was taking forever to load so I closed it. I then tried to reopen it but an error message saying that Firefox was already opened. I didnt not see any running so I ran my task manager and there was nothing there. When I tried to reopen it nothing happened. I then uninstalled and re-installed and now NOTHING is happening. It could be that it did not close properly. However there are also these steps to check: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding#w_remove-the-profile-lock-file]
That will run you through the lock file an dthe file permissions on the profile folder.
When you uninstalled, did you removed the profile files in the Program Files folder under Mozilla Firefox? If so, please make sure to empty the trash bin as well.
