Firefox wont open any links from homepage

About 95% of the time when opening Firefox nothing will work including links from the homepage and the address bar meaning I cannot leave my homepage.
After feeling my laptop getting slightly hot I checked Task Manager and there was a process that only appears once I close Firefox that takes my processor up to 100%
I've already followed the advice for other people and have both reinstalled Firefox and then cleared my Cache and Cookies.
How can I fix this?

Safari is not opening any links from .Mail. I am having to copy and paste every one into a browser. I've tried 'right-clicking' and then open with Safari but that isn't working either. Any suggestions?

I've been using Firefox for a couple of years with no trouble. Firefox installed an update on Friday and then stopped working. It won't open any pages. I tried uninstalling an reinstalling. I've set my firewall not to block Firefox from accessing the web. Still, I still get this message:

What seems most probably is that firefox is in offline mode. To fix this, click on the "File" menu and make sure that "Work Offline" is unchecked (If you have the orange firefox button enabled, press the "alt" key to temporarily show the menu bar).

As the title states, everytime I try to open a website in firefox all I get is a blank tab, so far I have reset firefox, updated, reset again, restored my computer to an earlier date, lost all my bookmarks, retrieved them thanks to a backup, reset again, and even saw somewhere to delete the places.sqlite files so I did and restarted firefox. Basically nothing has fixed firefox. I really need my firefox to work as it is used in a shop to order parts and stuff and all the usernames for various sites are saved in firefox, without which I have to call around to numerous parts stores to get my usernames and passwords reset so I can access the sites from chrome. I really dont want to as I like firefox. Any help at all?

Whats the deal with version after version of new firefox and you guys have still not fixed the problem with clicking on email links and nothing happens.

Adware is not a virus. It's simply annoying and intrusive. Virus software is not going to help you stop this new plague on computer users.
Whenever you download an installer it could be wrapped with adware. Check carefully when installing. You have to uncheck to not install the extensions that are added.

Below is how it is being done. This worked perfectly for years. MS Office 2007 does complain that the file extension does not match the data format (it's a tab delimited text file but I'm pretending it's an Excel file so they'll be prompted to view it as a spreadsheet in Excel) but you just click open and it works fine. This issue with IE is new. Let me know if you have any more ideas.

Why does Firefox always block any link I try to open going to a web page when I don't have pop up blocker on? First off they are not even pop ups....your crap blocks everything and don't save user names &/or passwords when you have it checked. Also in your tutorials about solving this issue says it has the word "OPTION" .......no, it never says option to allow you to bypass it and etc. Only thing is says is "ALLOW" . That would be nice , but the problem is it will not allow it from then on. It only allows it right then and then you have to refresh...after that to open again it blocks it again.....HOW STUPID?!!!!!

Are you using "Clear history when Firefox closes"?
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Cookies
*do not clear the Site Preferences

As suggested in your reference thread I removed "/Library/Printers/hp/PDEs/hpPostScriptPDE.plugin" and the problem has been resolved.
I am guessing the the plug-in for the hp printers got corrupted and effected every thing, or became unsuitable when I installed an Apple update. I would be most grateful if you can confirm how the problem was coursed so I can understand and learn from this experiance.

Any way to add a link FROM HomePage TO iWeb? The instruction I found in Help only discussed adding a link from iWeb to HomePage. Since most of my family already accesses my HomePage, I'd like to be able to add a link to the iWeb pages
This is the only instruction I've been able to find in connection with this topic: "If you’ve previously published webpages using HomePage, those pages are still available at http://homepage.mac.com/YourMemberName. Websites you create in iWeb are available at http://web.mac.com/YourMemberName/iweb/SiteName. I'll try this, but why in the world should it be so complex? I'll let you know if it works. but how do we tell Apple/Mac that this shouldn't be rocket science, but rather something that's done with the click of a button. They're both .mac software products. Why can't they talk to each other?
