Firefox wont open page with a redirect code in it

I'm using the following redirect code on my website to automatically redirect users on a mobile phone to my mobi site:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://216.139.224.162/Home/RedirectToMobile?url=http://mamotorworks.mobi"></script>
This work fine on all browsers including firefox 3.6. but it won't open the web page in firefox 4.0.
I get a pop up window asking me open this file with or save file.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

  • "Open Page With" menu option does not list Firefox anymore

I recently updated Safari to 4.0.3 and I am no longer able to open the current page in Firefox via the "Develop > Open Page With" menu option. It does not list Firefox even though I have 3.5.2 installed. Also, I am unable to show the Debug menu. Any thoughts?
    thx

When Firefox downloaded the 3.5.1 to 3.5.2 update, the new installation was not recognized by Safari. I had to download the full 3.5.2 setup file and reinstall. That fixed it.

  • Tab closes with no error msg when I click on "Allow". Msg: Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. I had to uncheck the Advance/General/Accessibility option for it to work. Why?

Msg: Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. When I click on "Allow", The 2nd tab closes with no error msg This was Home Depot redirecting to CitiGroup.
When I unchecked the Advance/General/Accessibility option to be notified of a "redirect" then things worked.
Why did clicking on "Allow" not work?
I posted step by step detail in the Trouble Shooting box below.

Thank you for your answer. It does stop the redirection notices, but now I have no idea if potentially unsafe sites are redirecting me. I cannot figure out why it has only recently started to happen on my home page though, when nothing has changed on there and I've had it set to show redirections, ever since I set up Firefox.
I guess I'll just have to make the decision as to whether I want to risk redirections or put up with the semi permanent notice.
    Thanks again mha007

    Hi,
If it was installed as a Firefox extension you can try to '''Remove''' it in Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Extensions'''.

On the other hand, if it was installed as a Windows application or Internet Explorer application, you may have to uninstall it via the Windows OS Control Panel, or via the browsers concerned. The [http://answers.microsoft.com/ Windows support] would be helpful.

    1. Close Firefox completely. (File->Exit on Windows/Linux, Firefox->Quit on Mac)
    2. Rename the Firefox installation folder or move it elsewhere.
*Windows: This is usually C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. "Mozilla Firefox" can be renamed to "Old Firefox"
*Mac: This is usually Macintosh HD/Applications/Firefox.app. Macintosh HD/Applications can be opened in Finder, and Firefox can be dragged to Trash.
*Linux: The install location varies based on distribution and installation method. Linux distributions usually don't put Firefox in its own folder, so this method can't be used.
    3. Download Firefox again from www.mozilla.com and install. (Installation instructions for Windows, Mac, Linux )
    4. If this fixes the problem, you can optionally check the old install folder for global extensions, components, or corrupt/locked files.

I get this message every time I go to new search page. I am so F-ING tired of pressing the key allow it's not funny. Can't Fire fox remember the dam pages I go to? Every freaking time I go to a new page that props up and I have to click allow. I would like to get rid of that for good so if you can help me that's cool if not then good bye. I go to explorer for browser. I can't take it anymore. Plus when I'm reading that page moves up again and I have to click allow again.

Try this: ''Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Advanced > General, '''''un-check''''' "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"''

I am constantly being shown this message: "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page." The result is that I am often looking at a blank screen with an option to click on "Allow." But sometimes the message comes up and I am on the page I want to be on anyway. I don't understand this and don't know how to change this setting, if indeed I have set up Firefox this way. Help?

    Clint:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
In terms of the Firefox issue. Boot the computer and log in. Then go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items and see if Firefox is listed there. If it is, then select it and click the minus sign at then bottom left. The reboot the computer and try to launch Firefox.
A couple of other things to check. Open a Finder Window (Commnand + N when in Finder) and look in the sidebar. Do you see a white disk-like icon named Firefox? If you do, click on it, drag the Firefox icon into the Applications folder, then eject the white disk icon.
If neither of the above work, hold down Command + Option + esc. Do you see Firefox in the list of items to Force quit? If you do, select it and Force quit.
Please let me know if any of these work.
In terms of Dashboard, do you have the install disk for the OS you have installed?

  • How do I turn off the "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" dialogue ?

I am a mac user. I tried to access my bank account, but firefox 3.6.8 prevents me by telling me: "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". This is NOT a dialogue which I can click a button. Instead, nothing happens when I type my bank's URL while a small message appears below the URL field bar. I do not have the OPTIONS under the Tools menu (like on Windows version) and my preferences does not give me any option to turn this thing off. Can any one HELP me as I cannot have access to my bank website?
