Firefox wont play embedded mp3 on a website

my computer at work only has ie8, when i go to a website it plays the embedded music no problem. when i go to the same website with my laptop using firefox 9.0.1 it wont play

Maybe you need to install the Windows Media Player plugin (np-mswmp.dll)

Firefox 3.6.3 wont play embedded youtube videos. It comes up with "an error occurred please try again later. this happens all the time. If you click to go to youtube the clip plays.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

I was having the same issue up until I found a solution myself a few minutes ago. If you have "Accept Third Party Cookies" un-checked it will not allow the embedded "Third party" youtube videos to load. You can either Check the box to allow third party cookies or add an exception to allow youtube.com WITHOUT the www. You just want it to be Youtube.Com.
To do so just go to Tools: Options: Privacy: Exceptions: Type in Youtube.com and click Allow. Then click Close and OK. It should start working immediately.

  • ITunes MP3 CD wont play in MP3 enabled stereo

    Hi All
I have been searching around these forums and this is driving me round the bend. I burn an iTunes MP3 CD and it wont play in my car stereo. The discs load but just show up as a one track CD that continuously plays but with no sound.
My car is not old and it can play MP3 CD's. I have tried all the recommendations - adding to a playlist and setting the playlist order, creating cd's in the root directory, creating cds with tracks in folders and also using the Finder to burn the files to disc - nothing.
I really want to do this as my car has no aux input and FM transmitters are rubbish quality.
    Any ideas?

I have heard that it is more of a MAC issue than a cd player issue? The old one which works was burnt using a PC
Could be the CD burner. Has it been checked?

  • How do I play embedded mp3 files?

    Hello,
Is Adobe Reader for iPad capable of opening my embedded mp3 files? If not, then how can I  get the audio to play inside the document?  The original document was created in Publisher 2012...converted to pdf where I embedded the mp3.
    Thank you for your help.

Adobe Reader for iPad has no support for MP3 or video files. You would need to use a paid PDF reader like PDF Expert.

  • Flash wont play embedded videos only on some accounts

Here is my system and software configuration.  Windows7 -  IE8 32 bit -- latest Flash version.  Flash plays embedded videos under administrator account but not on the other user accounts. Youtube and tests on adobe site shows flash working on all accounts.  I've checked IE security settings and kill bit in the registry.  Harware acceleration does not make a difference.  I've unloaded and loaded Flash multiple times even in the other accounts changing account type to administrator temporarily.  Nothing will make it work.  I've checked firewall and Norton AV turning them on and off.  I am out of ideas and out of patience.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, just wanted to tell this is exactly the same problems I have. And I have tested like you said. My administrator user account can show embeded videos correctly, but both my non-adm user account can not show correctly embeded. And tried to change non-adm account to adm - did not help.
    System: Vista home, IExplorer 9
Videos on Youtube.com plays perfect and the adobe "about" flash page shows I have installed latest and I see a spinning logo with my non-adm users.
I have also checked the kill-bit in registery.
But I did find out something, unfortunally it's not a solution, but a clue what's going on - I hope.
If I open this example webpage, all I can see are 2 blank frames and a icon in upper left corner.
If I open same weblink with my adminastror, I can see the videos.
    http://www.artvps.com/index.php/tutorials/shaderlight/render
After alot of search on the web, I found some ideas. Copy the below text and save it as "test.html", and open the file in IExplorer. This html text is a mix of collected html-text from above webpage and added some from youtube.com where you get the html-code to copy&paste to embed. The source at end is using IFRAME methode.
The only visible embeded sources using my non-adm account are those that has a "classid" added or IFRAME methode. If there is no "classid" my non-adm account only sees a blank frame and icon in upper left. My administrator account does see ALL sources.
But how to fix that I can see all embeded as non-adm user - sorry, I have no clue
One extra thing: I noticed when running IExplorer as non-adm user, I can see a line in the process-list in windows taskmananger, process-name "FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.exe" with info-text "Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2r152" if I try to view a webpage with flash source.
If I do the same thing with my administrator user this process is not listed in windows taskmanager.
Here is a screenshot from using IExplorer (adm & non-adm) and Opera.

  • How can I play embedded MP3 files in Firefox 19?

I am on a site where I can buy MP3 files. There is a preview of each song. When I click the preview, nothing happens.
If I open IE and do the same thing, I hear the song.
When I return to Firefox, I can then play that same song in Firefox. I can only do this if I open the link in IE first.
I have the Quicktime plugin installed and enabled. In Firefox options, it shows to open MP3 links using the Quicktime plugin

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Wiki Server will not play embedded MP3 files in Windows Browsers

I have a brand new cleanly installed OS X Server running on a Fall 2012 Mac Mini. I have created a Wiki where I am uploading .mp3 recordings of classes for people to listen to online or download.
I can access the wiki and "quicklook" the MP3s in Safari on a Mac and iPad but I cannot on any Windows based web browser or in Chrome on my iPad or Mac. In Chrome on windows or an iPad the Quicklook preview window appears but no sound ever plays. In Firefox on Windows the preview window appears and plays a few seconds of audio and then stops.
I have mutliple wikis like this set up on Snow Leopard Server and they work just fine in all browsers. This appears to be a bug with OS X Server 10.8 v.2.2.
Any suggestions or does anyone know if there will be a fix for this anytime soon?
Between this issue, the fact that I cannot successfully migrate my old wikis from Snow Leopard Server to Mountain Lion Server, and the fact that I cannot run Snow Leopard Server on newer Mac hardware, Apple seems to be wanting me to jump ship and abandon their platform.

Use the Provide Server Feedback Button in the Server app under the About section.

  • Safari IOS7 wont display embeded youtube vids on websites - help!

Hi, anyone else having this issue?
My website has embeded youtube vids in it, but neither safari or chrome will display them after the IOS7 update. First time you land on the page they are there, move away and come back, or refresh, and they vanish, but are still there as you can hear them playing if you click where they were...
    David

I have the same problem , sometimes the videos are displayed and sometimes you don't see anything...
I've tried it on all my devices with ios7 ( iPhone 5 , iPad 4 & iPad mini )  and they all have this problem , so this must be a bug in ios7 !!!

  • Firefox wont start, all soloutions given on website do not work

I am using Windows XP and the most recent version of Firefox. I was browsing last night and had multiple pages open (the websites were bbc.co.uk, eurogamer.co.uk, ign.co.uk). I clicked on a link for an article and the page started behaving strangely, like it was being re-directed so I closed it immediately. All of my open pages then disappeared completely. I received no error messages or acknowledgement of what had happened so I decided to simply re-load. Now, when I click on the Firefox icon I get nothing, no browser, no error messages. When I check my task manager there are no open Firefox processes. I have tried un-installing and re-installing but even that does not work. I can still open internet explorer so I know my internet connection is working ok. I have tried everything suggested on the official Firefox website but still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas, any help would be greatly appreciate.

I have the exact same problem. Firefox has been my default browser forever. Was trying to load Sorority life, an app on Facebook. Although FaceBook loaded, SL wouldn't. After doing all the cache clean up ect that was reccommended, and still not able to load the game, I ended up removing and reloading FireFox Once I re-loaded, nothing. I don't care how many times I try to load it, I get absolutely nothing.

  • Can somebody tell me why firefox wont play a video (Mp4) but if I download it and play it on my computer and go back to firefox it will then play the video?

None of the videos on this site would play... http://www.meipai.com/media/103870328 Until I download each video and play it with windows media player. I can then go back to Firefox and the video will play. I have been going nuts trying to figure this out and lately I have been very disappointed with Firefox. I have messed with application content types, reset browser, tried in safe-mode, uninstalled and reinstalled with NO apps and more. Please help, I really want my Firefox back. ; )

Thanks for your help... I'm using "Flash Video Downloader" add-on.
Not all the videos will play in firefox after I download them but about 90% will.
This is one that wouldn't play and I downloaded it, played it, deleted it, and went back to firefox and it will now play??? Very strange? http://www.meipai.com/media/120179641

  • Safari 5.1 not playing embedded mp3s

I am trying to initiate the playing of an MP3 file at a very busy common site for listening to online voicemails and setting up greetings at Ring Central (https://service.ringcentral.com).
This works fine on my PC via ANY browser but not on my Mac on any browser.
Here's a link to the screenshot of the offending "play" symbol (>) button: https://skitch.com/davidgaian/g8cx6/ring-central-greetings
What it DOES do is initiates an auto download and saves the MP3 file here locally. Which then can be opened in Quicktime (oddly enough, not in iTunes).
    Ideas?
    Safari Settings??
    Thanks guys for any help!
    -David

the webkit2webprocess.exe has something to do with the sound. Safari works fine for me, except for the occasional time when the webkit2webprocess.exe crashes. Sometimes it crashes Safari altogether but sometimes it just reloads all the tabs I have opened. Either way, it's a huge pain. I hope they fix it with an update soon.

  • ITunes wont play downloaded mp3s ???

Im sorry if this topic has been posted before. I recently purchased some mp3s (NOT from the iTunes music store), I have tried to open them with iTunes, but iTunes just doesnt seem to do anything, no response at all. What do i do, please help me as i would really love to load these songs into my iPod.

Hi, the files might be in a format or have a DRM encoded in it that makes it incompatible with iTunes.

  • Website mp3 not playing WinXP 64-bit using Firefox but plays using IE

I have a website with embedded mp3 soundtracks that work fine when using IE but not with Firefox (latest version.11Beta). Have tried all the suggested plug-ins to no avail. Running WinXP 64-bit
2003 SP2. Video & soundtrack works fine on other websites such as u-tube.

That's because Firefox doesn't support playing mp3 files. It will play them if they are contained in a Flash audio or video player (like youtube) but not by themselves. If you are using the <audio> html element you can define multiple source files. Here are some instructions from our developer website - https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Using_HTML5_audio_and_video You can create an Ogg audio file that will work with Firefox by using a program like Audacity - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

  • Windows Media Player will not play embedded in Firefox

I'm puzzled over the sudden inability to play embedded Windows Media Player files in Firefox. Everything was working fine, then suddenly yesterday with no changes made by me and no updates or other changes to the system I am aware of, suddenly it will not play.
I can right click a link and save it, and it will play in the regular Media Player. However, when the content is embedded in a website, it loads the page and just sits there. Won't play.
    I'm using:
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Windows Media Player v. 11.0.6002.18311
    Firefox 3.5.5
    I went to this page:
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213
And when I type in about:plugins, I cannot see the DRM files. Am I supposed to? I tried using the Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox (wmpfirefoxplugin) to repair it, but that hasn't helped.
Any advice? Please keep in mind that I am practically retarded when it comes to tech stuff, and working several jobs and in school full time, so I really don't have the ability to spend hours and hours researching this. I need a concise, quick fix. Thanks!

Why are you using such an old Firefox/3.5.3 version from 2009 (Gecko/20090824) as shown in the user agent and haven't updated Firefox for such a long time?
    See:
The Firefox 3.5.3 version that you currently run is no longer supported with security updates.
You should at least use the latest Firefox 3.6.x version if you do not want to switch to Firefox 4+ versions.
Your plugins list in the system details list shows the WMP plugin (np-mswmp), so that plugin should be working.
    Do WMP test pages work?
