Firefox4.0 causing graphic card NVIDIA kernel mode drive to crash frequently. Help please.

4th time asking.

I'm not suggesting otherwise, I just want to learn "how to fish" as they say. What was in the report that indicated a memory issue? Should I simply re-seat the memory, check it in recovery mode or just toss it out and put the old stuff back?  I have many years of IT work under my belt, but interpreting crash reports is new to me and I'm hungry to learn!

  • Since upgrading to firefox4.0, my NVIDIA kernel mode driver frequently not responding, turning monitor black, then successfully recovered. The Firefox browser would then crash afterwards. Please help solve this very annoying problem.

    as above.

I have the same problem. I just upgraded to Win 7, no problems. Then I upgraded to FF 4.0, and I kept getting Nvidia Video Card crashes. I always undo my last computer change/install when something like this happens, so I immediately uninstalled 4.0, and went back to my older version of Firefox. No problems ever since.

  • Windows 8.1 Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Driver stopped responding and recovered?

I have the newst version of the 15" MBP Retina with the Haswell chip and Nvidia GT 750m.  The problem I started having about 1 week ago is intermittent it seems, but involves the graphics driver when I'm in windows.
The screen goes flashes to black for about 5 seconds then recovers and the display comes back up.  It just continues to do this every 10-15 seconds and the error messages displayed is "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"  below that it says Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Vers.####### stopped responding and has successfully recoverd.
What's crazy is the problem is not limited to any particular version of the driver!  I used system restore and went back a few weeks just to make sure, thinking it was just a conflict with a new update somewhere.  I have tried to install old versions of the 64-bit Geforce driver and it is irrelevant, the problem keeps cropping back up. I dont' know what to do, and can't even function in the Windows side hardly at all for very long.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
I dont know if this will help you, but yesterday when I logged into Win 8.1 on the same rMBP as you I got an update notice for a new driver for the NVIDIA graphics card.
This is the driver that I got the notice for. http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/73780/en-us
You may want to download this and try installing it.
    Good Luck

  • Error message on Satellite A200: Can't open ACPI ATK0100 Kernel Mode Driver

    Hi,
    I have Satellite A200 laptop
When i start the windows(vista) I get the following error: *"Can't open ACPI ATK0100 Kernel Mode Driver.* " !!
I've installed all drivers and the error remains.
I've installed all the drivers from the Toshiba website , but the issue remains.
Device manager shows me that every device is working properly.
    Has anyone got an solution?
    Thanks

ACPI is the power management facility for your Windows Operating system. If this is failing you may have to run a system recovery on your computer. You can do this with the hidden partition on your hard drive, however this will erase all of the data on your machine. If this doesn't solve the problem, you may have to consider getting your hard drive checked for bad sectors as this may have failed.
    Hope this helps. :)

Having issues with low memory that is causing some of my apps to crash, need help please !!!

Is the device actually showing low memory errors?
    What is really occurring?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

I don't know if this is a Firefox problem so I ask, When printing how come it always prints so small I nearly need a magnifying glass? Is this caused by something else I may have set incorrectly? help please, from a very satisfied Firefox user

This only happens when I'm in my browser. Ex. when I'm on a site and I decide I like what I see and want to print it text that is, my printer always prints tiny. When I'm in Microsoft Word for ex. I print it and it looks like what I expect. So I don't know if somehow my printer got set to print tiny when on the web. If you can help me I would be most appreciative. Thanks again for your response.

  • Flash Player causes Graphic card to crash then recover successfully on two identical systems.

    Hello,
Ever since the latest update with Adobe Flash Player, I've been having problems with flash in general on my computer. My brother has the same exact computer and he also has this issue. I can uninstall Flash Player and the problem stops completely and the moment I install it again, the problem persists. I've looked just about everywhere and figured I'd post it on here for a solution.
    The problem:
The graphic card crashes and then recovers successfully when using Flash Player in general (happens most of the time when listening to a playlist on youtube and when the webpage is loading/changing to the next song). It also causes blue squares to appear on my monitor in random places. Flash videos become disturted and appear as blocks of fuzzy colors representing what they should really be when in full screen watching the video.
Troubleshot to conclude it was Flash Player:
I did extensive research and troubleshooting on my end, the problem started when I updated flash player with the auto-updater. I bench-marked my computer with running multiple programs and games to the maximum effort my computer could handle without flash installed (needless to say, no problem occurred). I then installed flash according to specs and ran a youtube playlist alone on Internet Explorer, the problem did occur. I then tried it with FireFox and Google Chrome, the same problem occurred.
I had my brother reformat his computer and install everything according to spec (all of his drivers are up to date as well) and the problem persisted with his end so I haven't done that, since it'd be to no avail.
I have even uninstalled Flash Player using the uninstaller executable that's supposed to remove everything from Flash Player and tried to install the version that worked prior to the update and it's as if something from Flash isn't being removed because the problem happens with the old version too as well.
Our computer specs are as follows:
    Manufacturer: CyberPower, Inc.
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
    Memory(RAM): 3.00GB
    System Type: 64-bit Operating System
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series (Actual card is ATI Radeon 4850)
If I should post something else, let me know and I will. This problem is kind of annoying to be honest so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and assistance.

    Hello,
Sadly this does not fix the problem on either computer. The video still comes in distorted while watching videos and the graphic card still crashes on song change while listening to a youtube playlist. The drivers are updated on both computers. As stated, this started happening when auto-updating to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player from the system tray icon. I can't even un-install flash and revert back to the version that worked before this update since it's as if something from Flash Player doesn't get uninstalled when using the uninstaller because the problem happens on all versions of Adobe Flash Player that I've tried. Thanks for your time and assistance.

  • Broken Graphics card Target Display mode

I have a 2009 iMac that now has a faulty graphics card, the computer crashes once photoshop runs.
I don't have the mac at the moment to test, but could I still get target display mode to work?
How well does the mac need to run before TDM can work?. If I power it up, sometimes it won't get any further than the apple logo, can it work then?
    Thanks
    Matt

I purchased a Belkin AV360 and it did not work with Target Display Mode on my new mid 2011 iMac.
After a bit of searching on why it didn't work I've found all sorts of articles on this issue with older display port devices not working with target display mode on the new Thunderbolt macs.  I sure hope this can be resolved with a firmware update, or by someone (Belkin/Kanex) making a new Thunderbolt compatible adapter.
And I don't know if anyone has confirmed it yet since the feature is so hard to take advantage of now, but I'm hoping this years iMac at least accepts 1080P signals in addition to 720P and the native panel resolution.  It would be worth the wait for an adapter if it accepts 1080P as well, which would make it at least more future proof since everything has gone to 1080P so rapidly.
I was really counting on my new iMac doubling as a TV/Console display in my room - it was part of what justified the high price of the investment and the convenience of the all-in-one design.  I would be very pleased if Apple can help resolve this.

  • Upgrading Graphics Card Nvidia 7300GT

Hi, I am considering upgrading my graphics card. I use my three year old Mac Pro in the office for rhino modeling and rendering using vray. I have 9GB of ram and use XP64. I have the original Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT. Have no knowledge of graphics cards.
    1. What benefits can I expect from a new card. Better on screen real time rendering? Faster rendering using vray?
    2. What card would you recommend? Not super-expensive.
    Thanks,
    Martin

You may get some improvements with modeling software, but since rendering is more CPU intensive than GPU intensive you may not see a huge benefit.
As for cards there isn't a whole lot of choice for our old MPs. In the third-party market are the ATI 3870 and 4870 Mac Edition cards. Both are good GPUs. The latter is a better card than the former. A tier down from those two is the Nvidia 2600. This card you must get from Apple since there is no other compatible version.
You will find benchmarks at Bare Feats.

  • Satellite P100 - graphic card nVidia Geforce Go 7600 crashed

    Hello!
My graphic board has crashed and, after removing dozens of screws, i've verified it's not integrated in the motherboard. I could disassembled it after removing the last three screws.
    - My laptop is a Toshiba P100-342 (PSPA3E-0QE038SP)
Here, you can see the model number: http://imageshack.com/a/img856/1917/6s6f.jpg
    - The graphics card is a nVidia Geforce Go 7600.
Here you can see it on the motherboard: http://imageshack.com/a/img834/5825/ktl8.jpg
And here, alone on the table: http://imageshack.com/a/img839/3525/6of6.jpg
This is the nVidia chip: http://imageshack.com/a/img836/4343/q7lg.jpg
Searching in the internet, i've found just 1 graphic card similar to mine. But i'm not sure if it'll run, because i've read the devices must be exactly the same as the original:
    http://www.ebay.es/itm/NEW-Toshiba-A000013050-Nvidia-G73M-128MB-GeForce-Go-7600-Video-Graphics-Board-/360821279000?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item54029f c918&_uhb=1
I asked the eBay seller about the compatibility and his answer was: "Please contact Toshiba for complete product compatibility." But Toshiba doesn't provide any support after the warranty expires (almost in Spain).
Anyone has replaced this graphic card? Do you think i should buy this ebay's graphic card? Are there any other solutions? (for example: replacing the whole motherboard...)
    Thank's very much in advance.

I never had to replace an graphic card in a notebook but I would not purchase any part if Im not 100% sure if it would be fully compatible with my notebook.
Fact is that SATELLITE P100-342 was equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 (code name G73M) PCI Express x16 (GDDR2 256GB dedicated RAM) graphic card.
The part on ebay supports only 128MB and therefore I think both parts are not the same.
This could be the reason not to purchase this part.

  • Second graphics card (Nvidia) for Macbook Pro (late 2011)?

    Hi,
I have a late 2011 17-inch Macbook Pro, and want to know whether it's possible to fit a second graphics card in there - and if so, where I could find a list of compatible cards.
What I am really aiming for is an Nvidia card with CUDA, since there are various applications I want to use that require CUDA.
If it's not possible to fit a second CUDA card in there, is it possible to replace the current card (AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB) with an Nvidia one?
    Thanks,
    S

Thanks for such a quick response, albeit not the one I was hoping to hear!
