Firefox4 gets websites, but WITHOUT SOUND

I get video, but no sound from any website since installing FF4
om my HP HDX 16-1140US (64 bit) running Vista. The sound is working fine on everything else.

Check the Audio MIXER setting WHILE playing a flash video, see if the third mixer on the right is turned off. If so, set it to ON and move the volume slider up.

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.

Certainly has nothing to do with Comcast, but you can always try unplugging/replugging whatever kind of cable you've got between the DVD player and the TV, and if using component, make sure all 5 connections are secure on both ends.

My videos play on my ipod but without sound! HELP!

i have converted them on itunes and they play with sound on itnues. i synced them on to my ipod fine and they play but without any audio!

I've been using playthisriff.com which uses quicktime, But recently i can't get a picture, just sound. I'm sure my itunes updated recently & was wondering if that has something to do with it?

Your original movie is 800 x 437.
Your OBJECT code in HTML is 500 x 216.
Your displayed size is 366 x 216 (including 16 pixels for the controller), since scale=aspect.
I found that in Windows, movies that have not the same displayed width and height as the original will not show.
To avoid that, make sure that the displayed width and height are the same as the original size.
Two steps:
1. Resize your original movie to 366 x 200. It's proportional. Or use 400 x 219, which is half size of the original.
2. Set width and height of OBJECT (and EMBED) to 366 x 216 (including 16px for the controller). Or 400 x 235 (including 16px for the controller)
See if that helps.
Also, I noticed a param error in your OBJECT code:

The width and height shouldn't be there.

for the key clicks try to go under settings>sounds and see if the "change woth buttons" is pushed to ON. and try to change the volume when your clicking the keyboard
if that doesnt work, then try playing a song to see if your volume is down, or if your speakers are capoot

Strange behaviour of HDMI: with most tv's works fine, with LG I get video, but no sound.

HP dv6 with an ATI HD 5650. With most Tv's ,the notebooks works great when connected trhough HDMI. But with my LG tv, I dont get sound (video is perfect). Same LG tv works perfect with other notebooks. I have tried different cables, reinstalling drivers, and of course configuring Playback to HDMI as default. I have spent hours with HP support but they think its a compatibility issue.

I have done the changes. The DVD in PAL format works (video and audio).
However, in my opinion a user should get a warning about the standard discrepancies when iDVD starts and not wait until a burn process starts. Moreover, I think iDVD should not lose any information by the import of iMovie projects depending on the project settings (preferences), since a user can always switch between PAL and NTSC.

U r question is little unclear...
If u settle WBS to Cost Center, all the values will be posted to cost center but not to AUC. check the settlement rule of u r wbs and make sure u have AUC asset as the receiver.

Presentation Runs but without Sound

Heres an odd one. I have a Breeze presentation which runs
fine from the C drive, but when I pop the files onto our we server
and try to launch the presentation from a http link the sound
doesn't come through.
Has anyone else come across this or am I doing something
wrong?

Not getting anything but crackly sound. My mouse icon is jittery also. occurs on mozilla on yahoo news and others. Not so with google chrome

when I go to fox news or yahoo news for example, I notice my mouse icon is jittery. I also don't get good sound. When I play Pandora through mozilla bookmark I don't get anything. When I use google chrome all is well.

Quake 3 runs, but without sound!

I just set up Arch 0.7 and everything seems to run well, also the sound. But when I'm starting quake3 (pointrelease 1.32b) I don't hear anything. Die log say, my sound system is muted, but I have unmuted everything with alsamixer.
I don't know what's wrong, I never had this problem with linux.

last time i played q3 for a few minutes was back when arch still had linux 2.6.3 as default.
i'm quite sure the via82xx drivers did not change that much since then but as the "xx" says it's meant to work w/ a variety of cards. so it could be that mine is one of the unfortunate cases:

this card is the onboard one on a Asrock K7VM4 board. i have several problems w/ this card since the mixer does not work right, at least standard volumes like master and pcm do not react to my actions at all. only VIA DXS works here... :cry:

I need help just bought apple tv and connected to my flatscreen samsung 1080p to the tv hdmi4 and i get picture but NO SOUND!! Am I missing a cable?? Do I need something else?? What do i do ???

I'm not familiar with your Denon specifically, but my Onkyo A/V amp has a settings menu for each input. Check the settings for the HDMI input you have the ATV connected to and make sure they are correct for your TV.
Also, as I mentioned previously, you could connect your ATV back to your TV directly with the HDMI cable, then connect the optical audio output on the ATV to an optical audio input on your Denon, then make sure it is selected when you watch the ATV to get digital sound.

New Problem - video loads, plays a bit, pauses, then plays without sound.

On the first time that I used the TV-Out feature of the iPod, videos that normally were playing properly started to lag. The video would play about 15 seconds, then stop playing for a few seconds, then start again, but without sound. I just thought it might be because of the TV-Out feature, but after that incident, a large amount of my videos have been doing this, without using the TV-Out.
My first use of the tv-out feature was around the time that I first updated the iPod firmware. I now realise that I have no need of the updated firmware, so would be willing to restore the iPod to factory settings, but would rather get some opinions first.
Although these videos had played normally before, now they (and most all videos I have added since), do this when playing:
Load up normally, play normally for about 15 seconds, pause and do nothing, then continue playing but without sound. If I use the clickwheel to skip ahead after it pauses, it will play normally for another 5 seconds or so and then pause and cut the sound again.
I had not experienced anything like this before that first time I used the TV-out capability. Nor had I experienced it before updating the iPod. Now, many, but not all of my videos are doing this.
Oh, it seems only the videos longer than 10 minutes are doing this... all the others work... some more testing would be needed to be certain. Video podcasts are playing fine. So... anyone else had this happen?

This problem seems to occur for the 60GB models that are using the new firmware 1.1. It has been posted all over google and the only fix to this problem is to downgrade to 1.0. The problem is reported as not to affect the 30GB models but there are a few videos on my ipod (30GB) that suffer from this as well. I haven't downgraded by 30GB one to check if it fixes it, but I can assure you that it will fix the problem for the 60GB one (I used to have that one before).

Saved from the web, but no sound

I was allowed to "save as quicktime movie" from a friends web site. When I play the movie, everything is fine. When I try to save it to iPod or anywhere else, I get video but no sound. I have QT Pro. When I look at the files props., it says that this video contains no sound. I'm not positive that this file wasn't a Windows Media file, or encoded as a MPEG-2... it there any chance to fix this problem? Would it be possible that the audio is embeded in the page and not the video?

So to follow up: The clip that has sound on my desktop, if I use streamclip, chances are that it will export with sound?If the file is an MPEG-1 file with reasonably normal settings, then Streamclip should be able to convert it directly to an iPod compatible format and preserve the audio. On rare occasions where very unusual, custom audio settings have been used in conjunction with an intermediate conversion codec, I have seen poor synchronization between audio and video. But this is not the norm. Frankly, in the time it has taken for me to explain this and for you to read it, you could have made a 1 minute test conversion and examined the results for yourself. The only problem I can see would be if the media you wish to convert was an MPEG-2 file which would require the Apple QT MPEG-2 component ($19.99) to be installed. Since you indicated your could play both audio and video in the original file QT, then either you already have this component or the file is not MPEG-2.
The basic problem here is the fact that QT is based on "frame-to-frame" synchronization referenced by an arbitrary unit of time. MPEG-1/2 "muxed" files, on the other hand, intersperse blocks of audio data with blocks of video data in a single data stream to physically maintain synchronization in terms of the "space" occupied by the different blocks of data. (I.e., one form of data cannot "overrun" the other.) These represent two different media technologies and is why you need an MPEG based application (or a hybrid thereof) to "assist" QT in these conversions. Owing to its wide use on the Internet, Apple finally added playback only support for MPEG-1 files. In a similar manner, you can add limited QT support for MPEG-2 files "for a price." Neither format can be properly edited in QT and will lose audio if converted to another format by any QT based application (QT, iTunes, iMovie, FCE, FCP, etc).
