Firefox4 w/Vista - Page freezes when I attempt to open some PDFs. What's up?

This problem has cropped up since installing your Version 4 & Adobe Reader 10.
I think I have the latest versions of both of these programs (Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1 & Adobe 10.0.1), plus the add-ons.

Use internet explorer as your default until this issue is resolved. Under Firefox, hotmail live will not load my email folders. No problem using internet explorer.

My Numbers app for my iMac freezes when I attempt to open a spreadsheet file from the iCloud. These same files open fine on my iPad, and I make sure to close Numbers on my iPad before I attempt to open the file on my iMac, but it makes no difference. The app freezes, and I have to manually force stop the Numbers process. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I get the dock to recognize the latest numbers version I have.
Go to the Applications folder, find Numbers 3 and drag it to the dock. It will then look like the lower icon here (the one with the 4 columns).
Another way is, if Numbers 3 is already open, to right-click the icon in the Dock and choose 'Keep in Dock' under 'Options':
You can drag the icon with the three columns off the Dock if you don't want to open Numbers 2 from the Dock.

Try quitting the PDF apps and Safari like I describe below. Then reset the iPad. After it starts try again.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Firefox continually says it "cannot find the server, try again" when I attempt to open it. What could be wrong?

When I click on any of the Firefox links on my desktop, a page usually opens saying that Firefox can't find the server. It then gives me the option in the form of a button in the lower left corner of the box, to try again. Sometimes clicking the button works and I am connected to the server, but often I have to close the page, wait a few minutes or even restart my computer, in order to connect to the server. When clicking on a pdf file it does not open and then it opens hundreds of tabs. The only way to stop it is to shut off the computer.

You probably have an incorrect action type set for pdf files, it will be set to "use Firefox" rather than using a pdf application such as Adobe Reader. Inititally the "progress" bar would get to about 1/2 way and then it would stop and stall. However, now the progress bar no longer shows a progress line it immediately freezes and locks up. Can anyone help?

You may have damaged the library - Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library

Apple removed my previous post because I referenced jailbreaking which is a violation of the TOS. Sorry about that!
That said, I can't think of any way to get around the file size limitation. I suppose itunes match isn't really meant to give you access to play all your songs anywhere. It instead gives you the opportunity to download your songs via wifi when you aren't at home. I can't see that it makes any difference one way or the other to Apple but it obvioiusly would make a difference to the wireless provider.
So now, my question is whether this happens on with all carriers. I have experienced this on AT&T. Does anyone here have Verizon or Sprint?

Sounds like it is hanging when you exit and later try to restart Firefox.

This has happened for four CD's in a row now. Today, after importing some other CD's in the regular way, all of a sudden, iTunes won't recognize the Eagles - "Hotel California" CD, the Eagles "**** Freezes Over" CD, "The Best of Roy Orbison" or "Milestones" by Miles Davis.

Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.

It sounds like your file associations are messed up and Reader is trying to open your .jpg files. Is this correct?

It isn't a file, it's a folder. It will have the same name as your catalog, but will have the extension data. It will be in the same folder along with your catalog. If you need to use the search feature to search for *.lrdata.
