FIREPOD Where are my MONITORS?!?!?!

I have a powerbook g4 1.5 and i use a firpod, the mac reads the firepod and it records fine but the playback comes through my laptop speaker and not my monitors! the monitors are plugged in to the main cr output jack. please help me!!!! im using garageband right now until i get cubase in the mai;

At the top of the screen is a white MenuBar, to the far Left is the GarageBand menu (Technically it's called the Application Menu to be nonspecific to any particular app). Preferences for all Mac OS X Apps should be under this menu.

Ok it appears that with current systems there is no mbrd mounted CPU temperature thermistor. There are two thermal sensors inside a K8 CPU: one is a simple thermal diode for use by external circuitry, e.g. a hardware monitor or Super I/O chip and this is the temperature you will see as measured through that monitor chip; the second is used internally by the CPU for software and hardware thermal management so includes the circuitry to translate to a temperature reading. This second sensor is associated with the THERMTRIP Status register where the diode measured "current temperature" is stored in bits 23-16 (23-14 for Rev G); now in pre-Rev F CPUs that field is documented as "reserved" but it does appear to have the temperature stored in it since Speedfan reads it and reports a valid(-looking) temperature. So with Speedfan you can get two CPU temperatures reported which behave somewhat differently, probably due to different calibrations of the sensor circuitry. One is read through the hardware monitor chip; the other is read directly from a CPU register.
What I'd like to know is if there is anything at all under the CoreCell box? In my system it is certainly not the Winbond hardware monitoring chip which is clearly visible in another area of the mbrd. Does anyone have a dead mbrd they could rip the CoreCell box off, just so we know what is hidden there?

Where are adobe settings saved?

I'm trying to automate a change to adobe acrobat pro 8 when saving TIF files I want to be able to enter a setting without opening a PDF and doing all the setting from inside adobe. So I'm wondering where are all the settings saved? I have tried to use process monitor and a couple other programs to capture saving/changing of the settings. I have found that it isn't in the registry or any of the personal document settings on the computer. It doesn't seem like a personal setting but for all of adobe. So anyone have any ideas how to edit the settings without opening adobe since I'm trying to set using auto-deployment and don't want to have to manual set these.

After those settings are set though any time I want to save a TIF they are there. So it seems like they are saved some where. Yeah, I was thinking about getting an application to mimic the options of opening the application and doing the above steps but I would like to find where these settings are to make it simpler for me and others that might want to make it an easy process instead of opening adobe and doing all those steps.

SYSLOGD gone wild - where are the files?

Yesterday I had 15GB of free HD yesterday, it told me today that I was down to 100MB.
Confused - because I haven't added any files, I check the activity monitor and found that SYSLOGD was running, and using an absurd amount of processor and disc access.
I searched on it, and it seems to relate to Time Machine, which I'm not using.
SO... I rebooted, and now it's not running any more. BUT - the hard disc space is still gone, and I don't know where the files are that I need to delete to free it up.
I've loaded a disc scanning utility to try to find where a new 15GB file might be hiding, but I'm thinking it's in the hidden area of the disc.
QUESTION 1 : Where are the files SYSLOGD wrote and how can I delete them?
QUESTION 2: What made it run, and how can I keep it from happening again?

If you're looking for trash sounds, those are located in /System/Library/Components/CoreAudio.component/Contents/Resources/SystemSounds/ . If you're wanting to change the put stuff in trash and empty trash sounds, then follow these steps.
Convert your sounds to aif, save them in some convenient location.
Replace the two sound files *"move to trash"* and *"drag to trash"* inside the Finder and Dock folders, respectively, inside the SystemSounds folder, with the one you want for putting things in the trash and the *"empty trash*" one inside the Finder folder with the new one for emptying the trash.
Ensure that you rename the new ones the same as the originals. (I usually copy the originals and add a .bak suffix so I can restore the sounds to their original condition.)
OPTION-click the Finder's Dock icon and select Relaunch.
Do note that if you'll have to authenticate to copy, rename, and replace these files. I use the Terminal with the sudo command to affect the changes.

i want to save my phone memory because i have 4GB card I want to save all my email nd messaging data on card. So where are the emails store if my msg settngs are set to phone memory if i set it to memory card all the emails will be saved in card?

Rgb sliders where are they?

Hello forum I am trying to calibrate my emac with a Spyder monitor calibrator the set up takes me to a point where it says " move RGB sliders" I know what they are BUT where are they?. I have looked in vain in System preferences but can not find them, any answers? Or are they not in iBook? Regards, Tony

are using the Spyder Website says that it is not for
use for LCD screens.
I'm not sure, but Tony said it was an eMac and then asked if the sliders weren't available on an iBook... The eMac has a CRT screen. The iBook, however, does have an LCD screen.
If you click on the Displays System Preferences, you can click on the "Color" tab. This will give you a "Calibrate..." button. You may want to enable the "Expert Mode" on the next screen. You can step through calibrating either your eMac or your iBook with these built-in tools. Unfortunately, even this does not give you access to RGB sliders.

Pages 08 Template images -where are they saved?

I know Pages 08 does not have clip art but I like many of the pictures on the templates. I want to use some of the template images (like the cat.tiff or frog.tiff) on a blank document. Copying & pasting works but I'd rather be able to see all the template tiffs at once. Where are the template images(tiffs) located on my hard drive. Is there a specific iWork folder I can find them in?

The images are "buried" in each template which is buried in the Pages application. You can find them by Control- or right-clicking on the Pages application > Show package contents > Contents > Resources > Templates & then the folder for the template category you want. Then Control- or right-clicking on the template icon > Show package contents > Contents where you will find the actual images.
Or you can just copy & paste from an open template.

The photos are still on your phone, and if enabled in your Photo Stream. They are not automatically transferred to your computer when syncing.

Where are printer drivers stored in OS 10.8?

I am trying to set up a Epson Stylus Photo R3000 as a new printer on OS 10.8. The printer setup locates the printer and automatically selects Epson Stylus R3000 with the notation "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download and add this printer." However, clicking on Add leads eventually to an error message: "Can't install the software for the EPSON Epson Stylus Photo R3000 because it is not currently available fromthe Software Update server." This result blocks me from setting up the printer.
I know the driver is part of the Epson driver software package that is installed with OS 10.8. I would like to select it manually. My question is where are printer drivers stored? How do I select a driver?

While a bit of a stretch, you can download the entire Epson printer package from Apple and install it. This will include all drivers for all Epson devices as opposed to the one just for your system. The package is 1GB in size, but will include everything supported.

Preferences/Compsing/set to Rich Text (only then you can use bold etc).
Then Rightclick the toolbar in Mail, and clcik Customize the toolbar.
Put the icons (with or without text) that you want on your toolbar.

Where are my Camera Roll pics n videos saved in iTunes(Laptop) when I backed up my iPhone to iTunes?

I backed up my iPhone today in order to save my Camera Roll pictures and videos safely in my Laptop and then I deleted them from my iPhone to make some free space.... And I want those pictures and videos in future back into my iPhone. So I know I must restore my iPhone from back up to get back the camera roll pics and vids. But what I want to know is, where are those pictures and videos saved in my Windows Laptop when I backed up my iPhone to iTunes today? There must be some folder of iTunes or somewhere in the iTunes software where they must be saved after backing up. I want to see them on my Laptop now but how can I do that?

they are in the backup file that, sadly, is not accesible unless you restore it to a phone... if you want/need access to them, you should import them

When I back up my musical files where are they stored?

I got a nano a couple of years ago and put all my albums on it (synced through i-tunes). I hadn't used my nano for a few months and when I went back to it my library seemed to have been replaced.......is it possible that my teenage son overwrote the nano?. Where are my files actually backed up - would it be on the laptop I used during the backup process (even though I was signed on to I-tunes at the time) or are they in fact backed up remotely through the I-tunes site.
It is all so confusing - and frustrating.
I searched for my song library on my Click-free back up device but it does not seem to have stored the songs.....just stored the link to I-tunes.
Could somebody direct me on how to solve my problem.

Your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and can be synced back to your nano as you did originally. Have you opened iTunes and clicked on Music to see if your music is still there?

Had been using HP LaserJet 5p printer with HP LaserJet 5p printer driver, but had printer disconnect for a few months due to not have black toner. Now I want to use the printer and my control panel does not show HP Laser 5p printer for my tablet but shows it for my laptop. I can not find the driver on the HP support list and the support list does not recognize HP LaserJet 5p.
