Firewire Camera problem - please help ;)

I've just recieved a sony HVR-Z1E to digitise some material. However when I connect it to the firewire bus (any lead, any port, with/without other firewire devices) the computer creates a high-pitched wine (not that unusual), but it also fails to recognise the camera in apple system profiler AND it stops any use of other firewire devices (e.g. two firewire 800 hard drives). If I connect it directly to one of these devices it also causes them to dismount immediately. I've also tried reseting the camera.
I've tested the system with an old DVCAM and that works. I've also tried the camera with a laptop and that doesn't work either.
I assume that the camera is faulty (grrrr). It might have got slightly wet, so I'll maybe give it some time to dry out.
Any other ideas?

I tried looking at the activity monitor but I am not quite sure what application is using my camera. Please take a look at these pics.

for some reason today, when i have gone to use my camera on my e5 it flashes up with a white screen saying 'unexpected error occurred. restart phone' can anyone shed any light on this and how to get it fixed? i have done as it said and restarted the phone but to no avail,

Reset the E5-00. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings. If this problem persits, you better bring your device in for service.

It's a built-in app, so it can't be deleted nor downloaded from the store. If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

If you've noticed unexpected behavior with your iPhone camera, start with these steps to isolate or resolve the issue:
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. This was what i did, and it worked!

The error is a very basic one - the sapmsPRD service is not known. You will have to go to <NT_ROOT>\system32\drivers\etc and add the entry sapmsPRD 3600 to this file.
This is basically telling the requester at what port to look for the message server.

You should make a mapping for the service sapmsPRD in your /etc/services file (On Windows: C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32DRIVERSETCservices). If your instance number is 00 you will have to add the following entry:
sapmsPRD 3600/tcp

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

Don't worry, just follow these steps to fix iPhone stuck on Apple logo
=> First of all Start your Computer and then connect with Internet connection, now Download the latest version of the iTunes application
=> Now install the iTunes application in your System and connect your Device with computer via Data cable
=> Now connect your Device with iTunes application and then Tab on summary option, see in the left side bar of iTunes
=> Now Select restore option from iTunes and then confirm the Restore Message for better results. After this unplug your Device and Restart it

Hi there Mylenium, is there any way you can help me? My cs6 is doing all kinds weird things lately. The liquifying too stopped working completely, when I try to work with the actions, it starts flickering and changing opacity in color by itself. It starts flickering and is completely out of whack! Do you get sound on any apps e.g. Music and Videos but not others ? If you do then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar.
