Firewire...I've never had so much trouble.....

I'm a big researcher when it comes to buying things, in fact I drive myself crazy trying not to waste money on stuff that wont work.
I've never had so much trouble in my life until I started researching a new laptop for audio work.
I don't want to buy a Mac.
I need a pc laptop capable of monitoring 10+ tracks with 2-3 vst per track live.
I wanted to buy a Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=52
This thing is cool. It has HPF, compression, verbs, delays, eq, etc for 16 channels.
The coolest part is it's a 16x16 audio interface via firewire.
So you can use the onboard effects and vst effects on the computer.
Basically a (glorified digital mixer with a 16 channel soundcard hooked up via an insert snake, except its just 1 firewire cable).
All for under 2k.. In fact I saw one on Ebay for $1500.
Cool huh?
To interface with this I figure I need a laptop at least dual core X 2ghz and 4gb of RAM and 7200 RPM HDD and I'm good to go?
The probelm is firewire chipsets. Apparently there's not a computer made today by a major manufactorer that has a decent firewire chipset.
The only thing with the recommended TI firewire chipsets are older laptops who's specs don't meet what I need to do the vst work.
Even the MacBooks are moving away from the TI chipsets though I'm not currently considering one of those.
Any suggestions?

Most of the problems I have read about concerning the ExpressCards is that the chipset controlling the ExpressCard maybe of
a type that's not very compatible with Firewire. So even if you use a TI expresscard, if the expresscard controller chipset is Ricoh, you may run into problems.
I'm actually thinking about taking a chance on a HP HDX16T laptop.
I found some folks last night in various forums who have had success with it and one of the Presonus recommended Express Cards for the StudioLive mixer.

I purchased the student version of Photoshop and Lightroom a few weeks ago
I have a 19 digit code that i had to scratch to get, a 30 digit number under the bar code, and a 6 digit authorization code that seems to be completely pointless. I started off putting in the 19 digit code with all my other information, but it wanted 24. so I filled in the rest with zeros. Then it starts giving me so much trouble I don't think I'll ever attempt to get photoshop again.

Why am I having so much trouble installing the latest version of Flash Player to use in IE?

I have not had so much trouble updating Flash Player for Internet Explorer since I began in 1998. The plug-in for Google Chrome installed fine.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling 4 times with no luck. The usual pop-up comes up when I open IE asking? 'This webpage wants to run the following add-on; 'Adobe Flash Player' from Adobe Systems Incorporated'.
I downloaded from the adobe.com website.
Can someone please help?

I found this guidance over on the Windows forums. It seems promising for your scenario:
Make sure that the necessary add-ons are enabled in Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
a. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
b. Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons.
c. In the Currently loaded add-ons list, click Run without Permissions.
d. Look for the following add-ons in the list that's displayed. If any of these add-ons are listed, make sure the Status for each is listed as Enabled.
o Shockwave Active X Control
o Shockwave Flash Object
o Java Plug-in (may be multiple add-ons)
o QuickTime Plug-in (may be multiple add-ons)
o Windows Media Player

Why am I having so much trouble installing Flash Player 17?

Hello,
I have installed and updated Flash Player since 1999, but never with so much trouble as with the latest version- 17.
My pc runs Windows 7 64-bit with Internet Explorer 11. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps listed on the Adobe website with no luck.
I am logged in as administrator, but when I go to a website the permission message pops up at the bottom of the page, as normal after updating,
"This webpage wants to run the following add-on; ' Adobe Flash Player' from Adobe Systems Incorporated'.
Whether I click on Allow or click on the dropdown and click on Allow for all websites, does not matter. It will not work and the permission bar stays up.
Can somebody please help??

last night I was downloading something for church (I am new to Mac notebooks it's the first one I've ever owned and I've owned it since March 2014). I have never had a problem ever with this computer that's one reason I love it. So after I was downloading this thing it sent me somewhere and to download my file so I had download my file well I don't think it downloaded the file I wanted because I never saw that file ever again I've tried everything to figure out what's going on because now my Internet is pretty much crashed it says that there is no Internet connection I have pop-ups that want to stop me using my Internet and says it's unavailable then last night when I was on a site I have all these things at the top and at the bottom that show me other prices for things and I can't figure out how to get those off I go to their website for removal and there is no removal for Mac. Google is my search engine it will not let me put in Google when I go to type for google it throws me on Yahoo no matter what Yahoo has pretty much taken over my Internet and I don't know what to do it it's a mess. Can someone please help me I am definitely not Mav Savy.

Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. Had the same problem. Here's how I sorted it out, not including yelling at my PC or ranting in my own thread (that's optional): First you want to delete your saved payment option. If you try this and it does not delete, log out and back in. It should be gone. Now re-enter your payment option (credit card number or whatever you are using) and if it asks if you want to save the data for future use, make sure you give it a nickname that doesn't include any special characters. Hope this works for you!

So, I have had the Ipod 4th generation for about a year now, and I have never had any trouble adding music onto my ipod until this latest version of itunes came out. Now, I cannot add any more music onto my ipod! I Have grayed out songs that I can't play

So, I have had an Ipod touch (fourth generation) for a little less than a year now, and I have never had any problems with it until the latest version of itunes came out. Now, my ipod never can sync (I left it up for an hour before and it only got to step 2 out of 7), and I can't add any more music to my ipod! To make it worse, about 100 songs that I had deleted off my ipod, but could still be found in my itunes library, appeared again on my ipod! But, they are grayed out and I can't listen to them so they just take up space.

I experienced same problem tonight and called Verizon technical support and they walked me through the settings on iPad. Took about 5 minutes. Basically it involved changing incoming.verizon.net to pop.verizon.net and changing outgoing.verizon.net to smtp.verizon.net. But it's worth the call to ensure other settings are OK. Evidently, change at Verizon was effective today!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Are you saying that the tick-box shown in my screenshot, isn't there? (Yes, this is iTunes 11 - I've turned on the sidebar and the Menu bar. So you can see, this is a CD in my drive that we're looking at.)
If it isn't, go to Edit/Preferences/General and turn on the tick-box box
You can show the Menu Bar (with Edit on it) by using CTRL + B
