Firewire in 2008 MacPro always has power - how to turn it off?
The 2007 MacPro's would cut power to the firewire interface when you shut down the box.
The 2008 version keeps the power to firewire turned on.
I've got an audio interface connected to it, and do not want this to be on all the time.
Is there a way to turn 'off' this 'feature'?

There is no setting. Unless Apple changes this, you are stuck with it, it seems.

I did a factory reset on my late 2008 MacBook from a Snow Leopard disc. It installed fine, but as soon as I began to use the computer (safari) it froze. Couldn't even force quit. So I held down the power button to turn it off, and now it won't start up. It goes to the grey Apple screen and just sits there loud as can be. Help! Hi. Don't worry it's nothing serious. Insert the Instal Disc (Snow Leopard) and press the C button while turning on the computer. Once you see the desktop, go to Utility and choose Disk Utility. Select the Macintosh Partition on the left window pane and then click on Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions on the bottom right corner. Wait for both processes to finish. Click on the Apple icon (top left corner) and choose quit. Your computer should restart. See if it reboots normally. If not you can always reinstall the OS following the same steps. Good luck!

When I open iTunes it will automatically go to full screen mode. I can't work out how to turn this off. Only iTunes opens to full screen mode.
Go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar). Choose "General". Click "Always close windows when quitting an application".
That should fix it. -
i usually turn me iphone 4s at night to conserve battery, however last oct 19 it has restarted when i turn if off.and it still happens til now.
returned it to carrier for check up but after resetting, restoring and updating the ios, still not fixed.
requested for replacement, but they said it might not be approved beacause the charging port has been burned(as per them).
i didn't know how it got burned but this was never been overcharged nor had been contacted with water.
my battery drains very fast, at 1am, it was 47% when i wake up around 8am it goes down to 20%.Sorry no, there isn't a way to turn off those reminders.

I have a mid-2011 iMac running Mavericks. When I click restart the computer goes to a white screen with a spinning circle and does not go any further until I hold down the power button to turn it off. What do I do?
Ok, sounds like the safe mode boot worked... You probably don't want to always be in safe mode though (some reduced functionality) so does it do a normal boot now? If not, you should then reboot into safe mode and run Disk Utility. Then select Macintosh HD on the left hand side, and click the Verify Disk button. If needed, it will ask you to Repair Disk. If there are errors found, Repair Disk again until there are none. Then try another normal boot and reply with result, wether good or bad.

As the header say any help on how to turn it off or just put it in the bag of rice and hope for the best as its down to 25 % power anyways
When an iDevice gets wet the First thing to do is Turn it Off... leaving it on is not good.
If you cannot Turn it off... go to your nearest Apple Store. -

I can't seem to turn off my assistant. It talks to me constantly (or on mute) and it goes through each box individually. This makes it difficult to navigate myself through pages. Please, if you know how to turn it off, help.
In 10.6 or earlier go to: Apple / System Preferences / Universal Access and turn off Voice Over.
In 10.8 go to: Apple / System Preferences / Accessibility / VoiceOver and uncheck the box for Enable VoiceOver. -

I just learned how to listen to music on my Apple Radio Station, now please tell me how to turn it off! I had to turn off the phone to make the radio stop playing!

There is a pause button and a fast forward button to the next song above the volume level indicator at the bottom. Select the pause button which will turn to a play button. When wanting to start playing again, press the play button. -

Why are search queries automatically cleared from search bar? How to turn this off?
Every time I search, the search bar query automatically clears itself 5-30 seconds later. I find this annoying and am just trying to determine if it is a FF feature or an add-on and how to turn it off.

Good morning, I am working on a project where we are quizzing users. They must refer to a PDF docuemnt as part of the decision making process. I have added a click box that allows users to click to open the PDF docuement. Of course, when I publish
