Firewire transfer of documents

Someone help me before a breakup occurs. I did the required search before posting and nothing seemed appropriate to my concern.
My girlfriend is attempting to transfer a document from her iBook using a firewire cable to my iMac Flat Panel.
The screen showing the firewire symbol shows on her iBook, but my iMac won't show the document but there is an orange firewire icon on the desktop. Also, the iMac froze up on a previous attempt at doing this.
I'm not experienced enough to help her with this, nor can I get her to take the time to post her concerns here. No matter how much I praise it!
My fear is she will completely screw up my computer, as she has done her iBook. (another story)

How to use FireWire target disk mode...

Though Apple states that the cable needs to be in place 1st, I've seen instances where that didn't work, but plugging the cable in afterwards did work.
Was the AC used on the laptop?

How do I transfer  Pages documents to new computer?

Be more precise: is it is new mac, and want to transfer data? is it another PC running Windows/Linux of someone else or yours?
Note that Pages format is not recognized on other platforms, you must first export it is a rtf or doc or PDF format. If a mac-to-mac transfer, you may copy Pages files just like any other format. You may connect the two macs or mac and pc via wilreless network or via an ethernet cable or, if both macs, via firewire cable, if both have one (not always) or you may use an external drive as an intermediate support for migrating.
If you more precise in offering details about what you need, perhaps we may be more useful. It is also important to know what size? if you have, say, 1 GB of files, a wl connections would suffice, if many GBs, perhaps a wired connection is better, it will be faster. All details are important.

  • Firewire transfer G4 to Mac Pro

I've just purchased a Mac Pro and want to transfer photo and text documents from my G4. (I'm familiar with the procedure for booting the G4 in Target Mode, having done this in the past with an iBook and my G4.)
The G4 is still running OS 9.1 I will not be transfering any apps, plug-ins, downloads, libraries, fonts, etc. I only need to transfer AppleWorks documents and image files that are in tiff, jpeg, psd, or raw format.
Does it pose a problem that one machine is still on OS 9 and the other is a Mac Pro?
    Thanks for your help.
    Mac Pro 2.66 4GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   G4 DP500; G3 iBook

Should be no problems for data only transfers.
There is no AppleWorks on the Mac Pro although if you own AppleWorks (OS X version) you can run AppleWorks on the Mac Pro. If you own the OS 9 version of AW you can upgrade to the OS X version (6.2.9) from Apple's download site.

  • Auto print of Goods Issue/Transfer Posting Documents by Movement type

    Hi,
We have created two different output types to print the layout's of Goods Issue/Transfer Posting Documents.
The requirement is to default the message in the document by movement type (key combination)
Meaning if it is 201 it should populate GI output type
If it is 313 it should populate TP output type.
we do not have any standard key combination  (NACR) by movement type wise.
Any alternative way of meeting this requirement?
    Thanks
    Regards

    Hello Kevin,
I donu2019t think it is necessary to use a user exit to keep the Material B (that is transferred from Material A) in the same bin.
This can be controlled in the customizing: indicator Post to same bin, that can be set in the WM Movement type (V_T333-KZUAP) and in the Storage type (V_T3010-KZUAP).
Now I donu2019t know your business process but I am surprised that Material B requires more space than Material A since it is u2018bornu2019 by means of a transfer posting and not a production or packing step that makes it bigger in terms of capacity required.
A workaround for this could be to transfer (LT10) Material A first to a separate Storage type (with the Post to same bin-flag set) that has no Capacity check and after the 309 posting transfer it back into the warehouse with LT10.
Success and thanks beforehand for any credits!
    Kind regards,
    Bart

  • Can I transfer a document from my MacBook Pro to my Iphone 4s when WIFI is unavailable?

I thought Bluetooth was the solution but the pair won't complete and I've read here that Iphone supports only blue tooth for headsets, not a computer connection.
I will be on a train and would like to revise document unsing MBP, then email it to someone using the 4s.  Without Wifi or a personal hot spot setup or some other way to access 3G on the computer, I thought I could get the document to the phone and then email it.  But I can't do it with bluetooth and there is no way to connect a flashdrive . .. or is there?
    Thanks for any ideas!

Connect the iPhone to your MPB via the USB cable, then transfer the document via iTunes (bottom of the Apps tab). Depending on the document type and the apps you have available to open and edit that document, there will probably then be an option in the app to email the document.
    Regards.

  • How to transfer office documents from computer to WP7

This is a seemingly simple task yet I have yet to find a way to do it. How do I transfer Office documents--Word, Excel, PDF, etc., to and from my Trophy? No options to do so in Zune, nor Office.

You can easily sync Office docs to WP7 via SkyDrive but it does require the Mango update.

  • Transfer word documents from Lumia 520 to mac?

Is there an app to transfer word documents composed on the lumia 520 in office to mac?
I only see apps for enabling photo/video and music transfers from 520 to mac.
I've been to the mac app store and don't see an app to transfer word documents from windows phone to mac.

You don't transfer documents to the cloud on iPad.  The cloud is for backups.  It's not for document storage. There are however, apps you can use like Dropbox, which are cloud servers, you can use to accomplish this.  You set up Dropbox, the free app on your iPad.  Then you download Dropbox to your computer.  You get 2GB free storage, but if you need more, you can buy it.

  • Transfer attachment document from purchase Requisition(ME51n,ME52n) to Purc

    Hi
How to do Transfer attachment document from purchase Requisition(ME51n,ME52n) to Purchase order(ME21n,ME23n).

    Hi Muthu,
I understand that it is possible to bring attachments from ECC to the SRM system for the new release.
However, I have a slightly different question.
If I want to bring in requirements from a legacy system to SRM 7.0 system directly, what is the feasability of the same? If I have an attachment linked in the legacy system, then is it possible to bring it in SRM 7.0 system directly or will I be forced to route it to ECC 6.0 and then use the Plan Driven Procurement scenario for getting it into SRM?

  • Can icloud transfer office documents instead of iworks

    Hello,
I notice that iCloud only seems to transfer iWorks documents, at least that's what all the propaganda says. But I don't use iWorks, I use Microsoft Office (in Windows 7 using Parallels Desktop, but all the files are saved in the Mac Documents directory, not in Windows). Can iCloud be configured to backup office docs instead?
    Thanks,
    David.

    Thanks ClayG and OrangeMarlin,
That's pretty much what I thought. I did trial iWorks and concluded that it's not good enough for me to fork out money to buy it after only buying Office 2010 10 months ago, and frankly I think Office is better... So I'lll just have to use some other method of sync. What a shame, you'd think iCloud would support Office docs considering Office is available for Mac anyway (although I use the Windows version).
    David.

How can the iPad sync some songs if iTunes can't see the iPad?
You need to get iTunes to see the iPad:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    Or
    See
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • How do I transfer PDF documents to my iPad from my PC?

A few weeks ago, I was able to transfer PDF documents from my PC to my iPad, because there was a menu on the left side of the display that allowed me to do this using a simple drag and drop process.  For some reason, this menu has gone away and I do not know where it went and how to restore it.  Without this menu, I have no idea how to move PDFs from my PC to my iPad.  Any insight or help that anyone would care to provide will be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.

Forget everything that has been posted to this point for a few minutes.
When your iPad is connected to the PC with iTunes running, you should see an icon in the upper left next to 3 dots ...
It looks like a rectangle. That icon shows that you iPad is connected to the computer and that iTunes sees the device. Click on that icon and you should see your iPad name and a little picture of an iPad. Click on your iPad name in there in order to select it.
Now you should be able to go to File>Add to Library and select your pdf files. The sidebar should be visible now as well so click on Books on the left - in the sidebar - and then select the pdf files in the books window on the right that you want to sync. Then sync your iPad.

Difficult to understand why Disk Utility can be hard to find. It is listed in the Finder Menu/Services. You can also find it in your Applications Folder under Utilities.
