Fireworks not responding at startup
Hi all,
Im tearing my hair out here.. all the apps (including
Fireworks) in my Studio MX 2004 are refusing to start-up. I can't
find any help or acknowledgment of this problem in the Adobe
support website.
HAs anyone had this happen to them.. and if so, have they
been able to fix it?
Im running a G5 imac with fully up to date system software
(OSX 10.4.10).
Thanks in advance!
Sorry, should have searched more into this forum before
posting... after more searching I found advice to use 'Font Nuke'.
Font Nuke
DOWNLOAD HERE
Have 'Nuked' those font caches, and all seems to be fine
again.
Hope this thread helps someone else in future who actually
does a proper search :)
Thanks and sorry :)

MacBook Pro 2010: Flashing folder w/? on not responding to startup keys & I'm trying to install a new hard drive, can anyone help?
Thanks. It started up com that disk but when I went to install it had an error message (didn't get to write out what it said). So I attempted to restore from time machine but it said there was no space, even though it's a new (replacement under warranty) HGST 1TB HD, so I did what I think was right and tried to partition the disk but it now says 'Partition faild...POSIX report...cannot allocate memory'. im not sure what to do, and I'm trying to remember how the previous hd was installed and formatted for use but that was over a year ago now. Should have erased the hd first or something?

Photoshop CC 2014 is not responding at startup on MAC OS X 10.9.5
Hello,
My Photoshop CC 2014 is not responding at startup.
I have the color wheel.
It never works since I download it.
I'm on Mac OS 10.9.5 with a Macbook pro late 2013 full option.
I try to delete preferences, re-install... and nothing is working.
My photoshop CC is working well.
If someone have an idear, it will be nice.
StéphaneI would then look at Folder Permissions:
In the Finder menu click and hold on the GO menu. Hold the option button and the User library will show up. Click the User Library.
In that folder go to Preferences and find the Adobe folder.
Right click on Adobe folder and click Get Info.
In the Sharing & Permissions section there should be three names.
All should say Read & Write next to them.
Unlock the lock, switch them all to Read and Write.
Then click on the little gear directly under the names or to to the left of the lock and in the pulldown click on "Apply to enclosed items".
Then lock the lock again. -
Photoshop CC (2014) "not responding" at startup
Hi,
I've just installed Photoshop CC (2014) on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), running Mac OS X 10.10.2. On startup I get the "spinning wheel of death" and my CPU run up to 100%. In the "Force Quit Applications" window I get "Photoshop not responding". After about 5 min photoshop sems to work but it's very slow. I've used Photoshop CC (not the 2014 version) without problems until this morning.
Any ideas? I've already tried to disabled the GPU without any luck.
Thanks,
CalleSame problem with Prmeiere, no problems with InDesign..

Illustrator cs6 not responding at startup
Hi, when I run Illustrator, starts with the logo and loadings (until here all ok) and when the program starts (after finishing all the loadings of plugins, fonts etc) I get only white background, no interface, nothing, just white space (in both 32 and 64bit), see here http://tinypic.com/r/35lhjd5/6 and at the top (in the title) says: Illustrator not responding.. any ideas?
I have an Acer laptop Win 7 Home 64bit and am using Adobe Application Manager.
I have remove all adobe programs and folders before the installation and also I used the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe.
I have try some steps from the forums like:
1) run as administrator
2) uninstall and install again Illustrator
3) run Illustrator without antivirus
but nothing, again the same.
I haven't delete the Illustrator settings file to reset the application (because I don't know which file to delete) see screenshot http://tinypic.com/r/2gw9bgw/6 tell me please which is the right file to remove.
BTW all the other programs (photoshop, flash, etc) works without any problems, and everything is up to date.
I have some double fonts (I read somewhere that maybe there is problem with duplicated fonts) Arial regular exists 3 times (in the preview C:\Windows\Fonts), and some Helvetica fonts, is there any safe free tool to remove duplicates?
Thanks in advance.Reset Preferences

1) Close the program and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (not reversible)
or
2) Move the Folder. See:

13 kevent + 10 (in libsystem_kernel.dylib) [Hi, I don't know how to interpret the system dump info you provided, but I hope one or both of the following may help:
I had this problem: iTunes worked great before the upgrade to 8.1.1, then, after the upgrade to 8.1.1, failed to start completely. I have ~30,000 song library with the music stored on a USB HDD. Upon installing 8.1.1, iTunes would come up partially (menu items only), then say "loading library" or something similar, then say "checking iTunes library" or something similar, and then hang permanently (I now am fairly sure that it would hang immediately after finishing "checking iTunes library"). Force quit would not get rid of iTunes, and shutting down took FOREVER, as did starting up. After shutdown/startup, trying to start iTunes would repeat the whole process.
iTunes 8.1.1 is now working perfectly for me. I did two things: disconnected the 2nd gen iPod shuffle that was on the USB dock attached to the computer, and disabled logmein from it's menu. Not sure if one or both were the problems (iPod most likely, but logmein was also showing many errors in Console view of system log).
Hope that helps.
When I want a new headache, I will try reconnecting the Shuffle to see what happens... -
Itunes not responding upon startup - but then it starts up.
I recently installed a 500GB HD in my first generation macbook, and proceeded to transfer my audio library off an external, onto my computer. I had some issues with 'dead links' (itunes would import all but one song out of an album, for example) but I was able to solve that problem thanks to genius playlists and itunes track CPR.
After that, all went very well, until one day, when I opened itunes, the icon didn't bounce, nothing happened - I "right clicked" on the icon and it said *"itunes not responding (force quit)"*. This happens every time I try to open it. However, *if I sit back and wait literally two minutes*, (it feels like a very long time) *it opens, just dandy and works fine*. How to I remedy this?Since you recently installed a new hard disk, perhaps you should check for errors.
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Select your disk, and click First Aid.Click Verify Disk.
If the disk needs repairs, do one ofthe following:
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear. Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. When Disk Utility is finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. Click MacintoshHD and click Restart.
Or you could boot in Safe Mode:
To start up in safe mode:
Shut down your computer and wait 10 seconds.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.
You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after your hear the startup tone, but not before.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).
To leave safe mode, restart the computer normally without holding down any keys during startup.

After this the system then carries on like normal. I'm not sure where MobileBackups came from, seems to be a corrupt file somewhere. How do I fix this?Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with a subfolder named "Keychains" selected.
Open the Info window. In the General section at the top, is the box marked Locked checked?
Close the Info window. Inside the Keychains folder, there should be a file named exactly "apsd.keychain". Is that file present? Are there any files with a name such as "apsd.keychain.something"?
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

Photoshop CS3 install - not responding at startup
Guys,
Just got a new machine at work and I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS3 from disc. Everything looks like it installs smoothly, but when I try to launch PS, it just hangs with a grey background and finallly says "not responding". I've tried to hold down ctrl-alt-shift to get the preferences menu, but nothing ever pops up. I also looked in AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings but there are no files located in this dir.
I am admin on my machine so everything should've installed correctly. It ran perfectly on my old machine which I installed from the same disc as I'm using now.
Any ideas?
TIA!Two additional ideas:
1. Visit the web site of the maker of the video card in the system and get their latest display driver. EXCEPTION: If it's an ATI GPU, get their Catalyst 11.7 release, not 12.1, which has been shown to be buggy with Photoshop CS5+.
2. Force a Photoshop preferences reset by pressing and holding Control - Shift - Alt immediately after cold-starting Photoshop. If you're fast enough, and you have to get them down very quickly, it will prompt you to confirm deletion of the current preferences set, which will lead to a full return to defaults.
If you don't see an immediate "Delete preferences, are you sure?" type dialog, close it all and try again. You have to be really quick.

Keyboard not responding at startup on iMac.
I'm currently using an Apple aluminum keyboard (with numeric keypad) and when ever I boot my iMac on this keyboard, I am completely unable to select my boot volume which makes it impossible to start up Bootcamp in my windows partition. I do most of my gaming on Windows as well as other leisurely activities but ever since I brought my iMac to the Apple store in march, I have been unable to select windows from startup making me have to go onto OSX and select it via the control panel. A genius at the apple store successfully selected my OSX from a different keyboard meaning that it's not the computer but the keyboard itself.
How can I get my keyboard to work at startup without having to buy a new one?
Help in this situation would be wonderfulIf it works with another keyboard, it is obviously a problem with your keyboard, as you said yourself. If the iMac is still under the one-year warranty or AppleCare, you should be able to get a new one, assuming there is no sign of an accident, like liquid being spilled on it.
A few things to confirm... The keyboard should be connected directly to the computer, not to a USB hub. Try it on a different port, if you have not already.
Do the basic trouble-shooting procedures: run +Repair Disk Permissions+ in Disk Utility and reset PRAM
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
But if your computer worked fine at the Apple Store, those last two trouble-shooting actions probably will not help, since it worked when another keyboard was used. -
Aperture not responding on startup
I imported some photos last night, but this morning when I get ready to work on them, I open up Aperture, and the spinning thing is all it does.
I can't do anything. I've restarted the app and my computer. Does that mean I am going to have to reinstall the program and lose all my photos? I have my originals saved, but not the fixed ones.
And what is the Aperture backup thing I saw mentioned?
Please help as soon as you can.Have you tried clearing the app preferences?
To clear the app preference,
CS6: Hold Cmd+Alt+Shift (Mac)/Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Win) and launch AME.
CS7: Hold Shift and launch AME.
If this doesn't work, you may also want to try clearing the media cache.
To clear the media cache,
From Media Encoder menu, open the Preferences dialog. (Edit menu > Preferences for Windows). Then, under the "Media" pane, click "Clean". -
My Premiere Pro CC is not responding on startup
I've been reading the forums and trying many things get it to work (also, AME is not working) but nothing seems to work. I recently had a Malware program called Zombie Invasion on my computer and have since removed it which may have had something to do with this issue. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere.
Thanks!Did you use the Adobe CC Cleaner app to uninstall?
Adobe CC Cleaner App
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
I'd recommend at this point using this to uninstall both your PrPro and the CC desktop app. Re-boot your computer.
Download a fresh "trial" copy, sign in to your account, then download fresh copy of PrPro, and install that.
See if this works ...
