Fireworks will not hide - mac

The shortcut to hide Fireworks does not work. Command H -
should hide the program and all open documents. But, nothing
happens. All other shortcuts seem to work fine.
I have a new installation of CS3 on a mac with Tiger.
I have also tried making a new keyboard shortcut to hide, but
no luck here either.
Any suggestions for me?

What version of Safari and what version of iMac are you using? If you can give us you iMac Model Identifier from the About this Mac under the Apple Menu, More Info tab, that would be helpful.

Hi Dominic,
My problem is essentially as stated.
I down loaded a trial copy of Contribute 6.5 to my Mac which has 10.5.8
As this will not support Contribute 6.5 I transferred to download, to
my laptop which has 10.6
It would not install. I wass advised to download Adobe Advisor, which
I did and it reported "no issues"
How should I proceed?

Mail *still* will not Hide at Login... Why!?

Apfle seems to ignore most of it's own rules:
After years and years, Apple Mail still will not Hide upon login when the Hide-Box is check in User Accounts startup items.
Is there a way to get it to hide, like other Apple applications?
And WHY does Apfle refuse to let us hide this app?

Make an AppleScript like this:
tell application "Mail"
activate
close front window
end tell
then put it in your Startup Items instead of Mail.app
As to why this has never been fixed:
Apfle are too busy removing great features they created from OSX 1.0 to OSX 4.0

Fireworks will not download to my new Mac Air

Hi,
I just bought a new Macbook Air a few days ago. I have an old disk copy with Key Code of Fireworks which I had my old Mac. I am trying to download the trial version of Fireworks onto my new Mac and although it says "Fireworks is downloading" it isn't and shows the Creative Cloud screen up and just spinning, never working.
Can anyone help?

Thanks, but my problem is that the Apple store only shows ~180 of the songs I know I purchased. I have2X more than that that were purchased but no longer show up in the store. They are on my IPOD touch though. When I sync my itouch with the new computer, only those songs that show up in the Itunes library as purchased show upon the computer-all the others do not.
Additionally, I am prompted to download an updated OS into the Itouch and then the Itouch says wait there are songs not uploaded to the computer do that first-but it won't let me do that when I sync.
What can I do?

sites or local (c: drive) files for their classes. I cannot get
Fireworks to open the local files, but I can create hyperlinks in
Dreamweaver and they work fine. I am trying to create a popup menu!

Placed in Fireworks popup menu, will not open the file.
Any thoughts?

Please note that Fireworks is an image/web graphic editing
application, while Dreamweaver is a HTML authoring application.
Fireworks cannot open HTML files, only Dreamweaver can open
html files. Fireworks only exports simple HTML-generated for
certain simple, basic pop-up menus. But it is not recommended,
though. Best if you create menus in HTML/CSS around Dreamweaver
than Fireworks.

Utorrent will not workon mac. but it works on windows

utorrent stopped working a few days ago try everything but it will not work on my mac BUT IT WORKS ON WINDOWS.

Lucky you. Torrent sites are a notorious source of malware. Stay away from them.

Fireworks will not run

I installed and registered my copy of Fireworks CS4 and used
the application on my Windows Vista Home Premium.
I had some problems with the system crashing (not sure what
caused the problems). Had to restore the system to a previous
System Restore point. Now the application will not run - the splash
screen opens and it gets to loading textures and then
closes...further attempts to run show the Yellow screen for only a
fraction of a second before closing.
Have tried running in compatiblity mode and as an
Administrator but no difference. Tried to re-install over the
existing version but did not make any difference. Have not
uninstalled as there was a warning the license had to be turned off
before uninstalling but of course this can not be done as I can not
run the application.
Any ideas on how to resolve...getting frustrated!

Fireworks will not upload

I've uninstalled and reinstalled fireworks and now the application will not open. It actually stopped opening before I uninstalled it--that was why I uninstalled it.
These are what the errors look like:

reset your preferences, Restore preferences | Fireworks CS5, CS5.1, CS6
if that fails, uninstall and clean Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 and then reinstall.

Energy saver will not put Mac to sleep

I have a new Intel Mac mini. I am running off an external drive (MiniStack2). The drive was formatted and then had data transferred from old G4. The internal drive, when used as a start-up disk, functions fine. The external drive will not enter sleep mode (screen turns off, but not HD). The G4 had similar problem. Not sure why one drive as start-up drive and other does not. I have quit all active processes and tried every set of options - the machine will not put HD to sleep.
Is there a plist or other file I must reload? I am certain this is a software issue. Problem in 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 (and 10.4.x on G4)

Menu Bar at top will not hide during full screen playback

URGENT!! Please help. I am playing a QT movie in version 7 on operating system 10.3.9 on an ibook. Despite selecting full screen mode the menu bar at the top will not disappear during playback. Have checked all preference settings. Any advice?

I am having the same problem. I have an iBook with system 10.3.9 running the newest version of QT. It worked at first, but then I used the menu once during a fullscreen play and the menu hasn't hidden since. And no, my cursor isn't stuck at the top of the screen.

Firefox keeps losing my keyboard and will not type (Mac)

I will be part way through typing and Firefox loses the connection to my keyboard. This does not happen with Safari nor Chrome but I have to use Firefox with one web based programme because it will not display everything in Safari and Chrome is so slow it is impossible to use.
To get around the problem, I am doing some work in Safari and only what I can't do in Safari, I am switching to Firefox.

When you uninstall firefox, do you go to the control panel and in C:/ProgramFiles/(delete mozilla firefox)? Or only one of the two options?Try.

Mac's Safari will not hide the top bar when in full screen please help

Printer plugged into airport will not recognize mac

We have an HP J6480 all-in-one printer that I recently connected to an AirPort device. We have two machines running Mavericks (10.9.2), my wife's iMac and my MacBook Pro, as well as an old iBook G4 (10.5.8), all of which are on our network. We are able to print wirelessly from each machine, but are unable to scan. The HP device is unable to find any of the three computers--whether from the keypad on the HP device, or the Image Capture application on the Macs. I have deleted and reinstalled the printer on all three machines, but have had no success in scanning. Is there any way of making this scanner work, short of hardwiring it to the iMac with a USB cable?

We are able to print wirelessly from each machine, but are unable to scan.
The USB port on the AirPorts will only support the print function. Other advanced functions like maintenance, fax, scan, etc......are not supported.
You will need to connect the printer directly to a computer if you want to connect using USB and have full functionality.
Ideally, the All-in-One device would have an Ethernet port, so you could connect to an AirPort router that way and have full functionality as well.

IPod will not update - Mac sees it but will not let unmount

I am having a problem that predates the 5.0 update. When I connect my iPod to my Mac (updates previously worked fine) the iPod appears on the desktop, iTunes starts up and the iPod appears in iTunes, but when iTunes shows "updating iPod", it just churns for about 2 seconds and then stops even though I have plenty of files to be updated.
If I then attempt to unmount the iPod from iTunes, I get the message "The iPod (iPod name) cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application". If I then shut iTunes down and try to unmount from the desktop, I am given the message "The disk (iPod name) is in use and could not be ejected."
I tried deleting the .ktext file as suggested in another thread, but it didn't work. Any ideas?
Oh, I should mention that since it refuses to unmount, I am unable to do a restore, because the program needs to unmount the iPod in order to work. If I launce the iPod updater and then connect the iPod, it doesn't see the iPod.

First, reboot your Mac and put your iPod into "Disk Mode" which will force your iPod to mount with your Mac. Open the Disk Utility and you will see your iPod there. Do an "Erase" - bear in mind it will delete all data in iPod. Disconnect the iPod and re-plug with your iPod, your iPod will show up on your Desktop which should allow you to do the RESTORE.

Are you able to Force Quit Mail?
Select Force Quit from the Apple menu
Select Mail in the list of Apps and then Force Quit
Once this is achieved, Restart you Mac.
