Firm Zone and Trade off Zone in Scheduling Agreement

Dear All
Please explain in detailed the concept of Firm Zone and Trade off Zone in Scheduling Agreement, and it's effects in MRP run, i.e. If i take a MRP run for a material whci is having firm zone as 30 days and trade off zone as 60 days then what will be the result of MRP. The Material MRP type is VB
Thanks and Regards
Manoj

Hi,
Firm zone is the time frame in which you cannot change your orders (schedule lines) that you have ordered from a vendor in any way (Date change nor quantity change).
Trade off zone is time frame within which you can make changes to your procurement proposals, these changes are acceptable from vendor's side.
These time frames are agreed with the Vendor and then inserted for each scheduling agreement in 'Additional data'.
For your example if you take firm zone 30 days and trade-off zone 60 days, the check starts from current day on which MRP runs. For exampe current day is 1st Oct, all the procurement proposals with delivery date within 30 days that is till 1st September are firm orders, which MRP will not change in any case (You can find such orders with * in front of them in MD04 list). Beyond 1st september they are in trade off zone, in which MRP can modify them.
MRP types (VB in your case) have no correlation with these zones.

  • Firm/Trade-off Zone Indicator - Data base field.

I'm looking for the data base field that holds the Firm/Trade-off Zone Indicator as it displays on the Delivery Scheduling Agreement, Delivery Schedule for Items from ME33L.  The help for the field gives you the same information as for the Firm Zone And Trade-Off zone values in days (stored in EKPO), but this field displays differently for different schedule lines, and is a "1" - indicator for Firm Zone, or a "2" Indicator for Trade-Off Zone.
I'm beginning to wonder, is this field dynamic and just determined for display at the time the transaction is done ???
As in fact the lines within the firm zone are displayed in a different way (with an * following the MRP element data) on MD04.
But we were trying to determine where (IF) the field indicator is stored, and if so, what is setting it, as "some process" would have to be evaluating all orders as time passes to know they have now come within the firm zone.   If its not just a dynamic field.

    Hi Ruth,
This one is dynamic (I guess you are wrinting about screen field  RM06E-ETSTA visible e.g. in ME38/ME39 t-code).
And I guess it is calculated here:
    Include: MM06EFET_ETT_ETSTA
    FORM ETT_ETSTA.
       CLEAR RM06E-ETSTA.
       IF EKPO-ETFZ1 NE 0.
         REFE1 = EKET-EINDT - SY-DATLO - EKPO-ETFZ1.
         IF REFE1 <= 0.
           RM06E-ETSTA = '1'.
           EXIT.
         ENDIF.
       ENDIF.
       IF EKPO-ETFZ2 NE 0.
         REFE1 = EKET-EINDT - SY-DATLO - EKPO-ETFZ2.
         IF REFE1 <= 0.
           RM06E-ETSTA = '2'.
         ENDIF.
       ENDIF.
    ENDFORM.
I guess you can call this form in your report logic/query and you should get exactly what you need.

  • Firm or Trade-Off Zone Indicator not set

    Hi
I have created the scheduling agreement and run the MRP by this the schedule lines are generated but the system has not set Firm or Trade-Off Zone Indicator how do I go head? IS there any customization/master data required to set the this indicator?
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Prashant.

This depends a bit on how you communicate to your vendors.
Assuming EDI, then the message to the vendor will contain a few date fields
    A. ABFDE End of production go-ahead
Which is the 'end' of the FIRM ZONE
    B. ABMDE End of material go-ahead
Which is the 'end' of the TRADEOFF ZONE.
Upon receipt the vendors system will recognize these dates.
Assuming printout, you need to work in SAP-Script/Smartform to detail the effect of these date on your print.
Either by also mentioning these in the item header (remember each item has an unique FZ/ToZ setting). Or by using special markers on the date lines, based on these dates.

  • Firm zone & Trade off zone

    Hi,
Can anywhere other than Sch agreement we can maintain Firm zone,Trade off zone & creation profile so that in SA automatically these fileds get sopied.
    Regards
    MSR

    Dear Raghavendrams,
    1) Creation profile is the combination of JIT and FRC(forecast) schedules which can be maintained in customising against the sub-node - "Maint. Rel. Creation Profile for Sched. Agmt. w. Rel. Docu." which is located under the node - Schedule agreement in purchasing.
    2) JIT is the just -in-time schedule which means the schedule which is necessarily a firm one and therefore this schedule should fall in the firm zone.
On the other hand, FRC is the forecast shcedule which means a tentative one and therefore this should fall in the trade-off zone.
    3) From the above it is evident that one cannot have JIT and FRC schedules maintained before hand since they are subject to  change depending on the change in the production plan. Therefore you need to maintain these in the SA only. However you can create different creation profiles  in SPRO. For instance- "14 days JIT and 6 months FRC".  This means that for a material to be supplied from a vendor, you are giving a firm requirement for 14 days and balance 6 months requirement will be the forecasted one which enables the vendor to plan their resources and which in turn can reduce the lead times drastically in addition to reduction the production stoppages.
Creation profiles can be different depending upon the nature of material procured, type of vendor you are dealing with, his flexibility, credibility etc. For instance in case of a packaging material, the vendor is usually located very close to the manufacturing to have better space management in the warehouse. In such cases the material can be called off on daily basis i.e JIT- 1 day or even hourly basis in some cases.
Trust, you have understood the concept.

  • Fully Close Off Under Delivered Schedule Agreement Line Items

    Hi There,
I am supporting a customer who is having an issue with line items on a scheduled agreement, which she has closed off, appearing in MIGO.
Example: I have a scheduled line item of 100 EA.  I GR 90 EA but I am happy with this so I want to close off the line.
I go into ME38, select the line item, click the delivery schedule icon, set the scheduled quantity to 90 and click the fixed check flag. I refresh the Schedule Agreement and re-release it.
However when I go into MIGO and do a Goods Receipt for my scheduled agreement, MIGO is still proposing the 10 EA to me.
    I have two questions
    1) Are the steps I am doing the correct way to close off an under-delivered scheduled line item
    2) If 1 is correct, how come the 10 EA is still being proposed and how do I stop this happening?
Many Thanks for any help provided,

  • Foreign Trade - Legal Control for scheduling agreements

We are on version 4.6C and I am setting up the legal control for my company.  It seems to work quite well for sales orders but then when I went in to configure scheduling agreements it errors and tells me you cannot do legal control for document type "E" which are typically scheduling agreements.
I cannot find any documentation on this.  Does anyone know why legal control does not work for scheduling agreements and/or is this functionality available in the Global Trade Services module??
Thanks in advance for any and all help!!
    Debbie

    Jean,
I have done a Foreign trade implementation.
The core team of the client are FT experts and they would tell you about the legal requirements. Your job is to map them in SAP FT.
In this process you would gain Knowledge about  Foreign trade regulations of that country. Remember its country specific.
The ECCN's are provided by the client. Info abt the same is extensivley available on the NET.
You have to get the list of all the mtrls which fall under the controlled cantegory of the respective commerce ministry and then start the config setting  these mtrls as relevant for FT checks.
    Thanks

  • System time zone and User time zone is differenct.

    Hello friends.
We use SRM 5.5 with classic scenario. (SP07)
Our system time zone is CET.
Now if we have a user different with a different time zone in the user master, for example, a UTC+9.
We can end with up with a received date in service BBPBWSP_SIMPLE that is before the created on date in the shopping cart.
A shopping cart is created at 2006.05.10 but the received date in Approval says 2006.05.09.
So approver can be confused the requested date.
Is this standard bugs or standard design?
How can we change the received date with user Time Zone?
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    SH.

    Hello,
As far as I know, if you do not populate the field "of the user" in SU01, system takes the pattern timezone, which is UTC, to display to the end user in web gui.
    I did the following test:
    - I created a RFX with a user who's timezone (in tx SU01) is set as:
    Sys. Time Zone     CET
    of the User        INDIA
    - CET time  was 20:01:55
    - GMT time was 18:01:55
    - India time was 23:31:55
Looking at this RFX in BBP_PD I see the following:
Same user (India timezone and CET as "Sys. Time Zone"):
    Created_At: 20:01:55
    Changed_at: 20:01:55
    DETAILS ->
    Created at: 18:01:55
    Changed at: 18:01:55
    RFX header (description): 23:31:55
So, if you want to populate the header document in WEB GUI with another time zone than UTC, you have to use the field "of the user", under Personal Time Zone. However, if you want to display the UTC time zone in header documents in web gui, you can leave this field empty.
    Kind regards
    Ricardo

  • Time-Zone Help. User Time Zone and SAP Time Zone!

    Hi Experts,
Guys, I want to know how to check and change time in SAP system. The reason I want to know if when I go to su01 and display my user, under Default tab>> Sys. Time Zone is different. So, I am guessing that I have to change time zone which is causing my CCMS-Alert auto-reaction.
    Thanks,
    I will reward points.

    Hi Prince,
Cool!! Just wanted to confirm and clear things up.
    1. My OS time is PST and upto date. I have checked by typing date in unix.
    2. As you have mentioned (Txn STZAC). I think STZAC is a T-code in which I can change time zone but what is Txn? Also, when changing time zone, do I have to make client modifiable in se06?
    3. As you have also wrote that I can add (TIME_ZOME) in parameter of Auto-reaction Z_method. Just to confirm, is that how I will add.
    Parameter Name: Time_Zone
    Parameter Value: PST
on the Parameter value, do I need to add any syntax or characters such as $PST, (pst) etc...
    Thanks for your help!

  • Price date and Pr.Date Cat in Scheduling Agreement

    Hi Gurus,
Anyone know what is the purpose of these 2 fields in SA? If I enter the price date with Pr.Date Cat = no control, what is the impact? Will system based on the Price Date to get the price in the info record?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sue,
The PR date category determines which date is to be used for price determination purposes.
If you maintain as "no control"it will take price based on the  document date.
hope it wud have answered ur question.

system donot show the  END OF FIRM ZONE and END  OF TRADE OFF ZONE
what setting was missed . pls clear me .
    Thanks
    v raj

    Hi Raj,
In SAP IMG > Material Management > Purchasing > SA > Define document type
Check the Field Selection for the Document type. Eg;-LPA = LPL
Then in SAP IMG > Material Management > Purchasing > SA > Define Screen Layout at Document Level
    Over there Check on:-  LPL
Scheduling Control > Firm/Trade-off Zone if flaged in optional.
Hope this will solve your issue.

  • Scheduling Agreement Schedule Lines firmed after outbound delivery

    Dear All,
We use scheduling agreement for cross-company process in our client.  After MRP run schedule lines created automatically. For the next step outbound delivery is created via VL10F (or VL10B).
After outbound delivery creation, on MD04 or ME39, i see the schedule line firmed (*). Because firmig MRP doesn't change those schedule lines. This is a problem for our client.
Do you know a way for MRP can change the schedule lines even outbound delivery created ? How can i manage this situation ?
    Best regards,

    Hi Anil
The '*' that you see means that the schedule line has been changed manually and the Firming indicator (EKET-FIXKZ) is set when there is any change to the Schedule line.
So, when a Delivery is created, the schedule line should be 'Fixed'.
Otheriwse, MRP can delete or change this schedule line and it would cause an inconsistency in the system. This is the logically intended behaviour.
Please see the F1 help for the field EKET-FIXKZ:
    "Schedule Line is "Fixed"
Fixes the schedule line and determines that it cannot now be automatically changed as a result of materials planning and control/MRP activities.
    Procedure
The indicator is set automatically if:
.- You make manual changes to a line of a scheduling agreement delivery schedule that was created via the materials planning process
.- You create a schedule line manually
    Dependencies
You can specify whether Materials Planning/MRP can change delivery schedule lines within the firm and trade-off zones in the additional data for the scheduling agreement item."
    I hope this helps.

  • Difference between Scheduling agreement delivery schedule and PO delivery s

    Dear All,
Please tell the difference between the Scheduling agreement delivey schedule and PO delivery schdule.
In PO itself, we can give the delivery schedule.
Then what is the purpose of making scheduling agreement and maintain schedule in ME38?
    Regards

    Hi,
Difference between Scheduling agreement and PO is while PO is a legal document whatever the delivery schedules you mention in PO, you are liable to pay for the entire qty in case of cancellation
In case of scheduling agreement, we have Firm Zone and Tradeoff Zone to provide some cushion against paying for the entire qty you have ordered
    Firm zone: (go-ahead for production)
If the date of a schedule line lies within the firm zone, the vendor has the go-ahead to produce the relevant quantity with the assurance that the orderer will bear any and all material and production costs associated with the scheduled quantity in the event of subsequent cancellation by the latter.
Trade-off zone: (go-ahead for procurement of input materials)
If the date of a schedule line lies within the trade-off zone, the vendor has the go-ahead to purchase any input materials necessary to produce the scheduled quantity. The orderer will recompense him in full for such outlay (but not for any other production costs) in the event that he should subsequently cancel the scheduled quantity.
Schedule lines that lie beyond the firm and trade-off zones fall within the planning zone (forecast zone) and are for rough guidance only, being without any commitment on the part of the orderer.
In case of PO if you want to cancel the order, you are liable to pay for the entire quantity, while in case of Scheduling agreement if you want to cancel the schedule and if the days fall in Firm zone or trade off zone or planning zone you have to pay only for raw materials or assembled products according to the above description

    Hi,
             What is your question?

  • Scheduling Agreements / Delivery Schedule / Firm zone, Trade zone

    Dear all.
I am in the process of setting up scheduling agreements (LPA type) with firm zone and trade zone in SAP 4.5b
    The following issues  I have:
1.) with the release via ME84, it gives me an error 'no processing message ME 857, no message record found'.
As far as I know the customizing is correct. Can some one give a tip about what I maybe have forgotten?
2.) I am also using the firm and trade zone, but in the automatic generated delivery schedules line it is not turning up?
If there is any one who can help me with this subject, any information is welcome.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wilfred

You have to create a condition record for your message type LPH1 in order to be able to generate the message (mn10).
At funcional level, try to update your schedule line manually through TCode me37 and then go to the ME84.
At customizing level, here are some things that were missing when it occurred to me :
Check in SPRO - Purchasing - Messages - Output Control - Message Types -
Define message type for scheduling agreement schedule lin - Fine-Tuned Control: Forecast Delivery Schedule/Expediter that you have operation 9 for LPH1 and the checkbox activated.
Check in SPRO - Purchasing - Messages - Output Control - Message Determination Schemas - DefineMessage Schema for Scheduling Agreement Release - Define Message Determ. Schema: Forecast Delivery Schedule/Ex in the control data : You must havefor LPH1 the requirement 109.
    Hope it helps
