Firmware 1.0.1 is out.

just installed it via iTunes. no idea what it does.

It corrected my problems with the headphone's remote (didn't work really great) and also it fixed my voice over problems on Windows XP SP3.

  • Itunes update to firmware fails, because connection times out.

I have been unsuccessfully attempting to update my iphone 3gs and ipad to iOS 5 for over a month now.  I have spent many, many hours on this, and many phone calls to apple support.  I disable Norton 360, and windows firewall, and my firewall on my router.  I've tried updating my router's firmware, which bricked the router--thanks apple for insisting this was the problem, and I have replaced the router, with a new one.  Itunes diagnostics gives me the following information.  I am using itunes as the administrator in Windows 7, 64 bit, although itunes doesn't recognize it, unless I reinstall it as the administrator, but then once I restart the computer, itunes no longer recognizes that I using Windows as an admin.
Also, the firmware cannot update, because the connection times out, despite all my firewalls, and antivirus being turned off.
I've tried downloading iOS 5 and then updating using restore, but that didn't work.  I've poured through support forums, and error codes: I get 1611, etc.  Cannot seem to resolve this.
    Any ideas?

  • Error in firmware cFP 2020 & connection time out error in MAX

    Hi!
My cFP 202O status LED is flashing twice - which indicates that there is an error in the firmware (according to the user manual). I've already installed the latest firmware downloaded from the NI website and it says that I'm suppose to update the OS from remote system in MAX. When trying to update the BIOS system, this comes up.
Version on the remote target : 10.1
Available version on the host : 10.4
I'm a little confused as to which is the remote target and which is the hosting system? It also says that the previously installed software will be removed if update is continued and that it might damage the hardware if manually booted or turned off so I'm a little skeptical to proceed.
I'm alsoreceiving error messages in MAX. Errors in MAX are 'Connected - No software installed' and connection to a remote device timed out. I'm wondering if this error occurs because of the firmware problem or is it because of the timeout settings? Which is better? A higher or lower timeout time?
I'm new with this. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The target is your compact Fieldpoint.  The host is your PC that you are on.  Since the PC has a newer version, you will want to have that software downloaded to the cFP by way of MAX.  Of course there is a slight chance you could lose power to the cFP if your luck is bad and the power goes out in the middle of the upgrade.  It would be best to have your power supply for the cFP running off a battery backup UPS for security.
I'm guessing the error is due to your firmware problem.
If you are really uncertain on how to proceed, it may be best if you contact NI directly and they could help walk you through the update process.

  • WRT54G - v1.30.7, Jul. 8, 2003 - I need to upgrade Firmware, but can't figure out?

I have looked on bottom where SN is, etc. and there is nothing more than the WRT54G label....no version.  The other forums said there was a version after that above the serial number, but I cannot find it.
Can someone help me please?  I figure I need to upgrade it so that my PS3 can connect wirelessly to it because every time I try now, the PS3 disables the network entirely and I lose my vonage phone and internet connectivity for the computers until I recycle the modem and then the router....
    HELP!

Got to the point of downloading the firmware you listed above and then when going to upgrade the firmware from the file I placed on desktop, and then clicking upgrade....I get a popup stating.....Incorrect Image File!
    Now what should I do?
Do I need to do prior firmware upgrades to get to a point this one would be accepted?

  • Firmware 17.1.1.A.0.402 start rolling out

    Anyone received the firmware update?
Start rolling out,Germany and Thailand have received the 17.1.1.A.0.402 update!
    Solved!

So I checked my phone service menu and CustNr matches with the one in the picture and I can say it is Germany vodafone branded. Will I receive the update anytime soon or I am screwed with sitting on 17.1.A.2.55 firmware? I bought this phone in Lithuania in local mobile shop and I was surprised that they had the phone before any other local carriers here had it. Apparently they got it from Germany Vodafone. Anyway, does flashing your phone to for example Generic software makes OTA updates faster or it is not worth it as it would still depend on Germany's Vodafone?

  • Fixing the creative zen xtra - creative firmware won't bring me dow

    Hi all,
Recently my zen xtra crashed as a result of Creative's shoddy firmware! Anyway, I'm out of warrenty, creative want to try charge me about 20 quid and I ain't having that (read my other posts you'll hear the whole story)
Well now I've decided I'm gonna try fix things myself. I've ripped my player apart to reveal the 2.5" harddri've. I've got hold of a caddie to hold this in and connected to the computer. Dri've is not recognised (as i suspected, the firmware has corrupted toc and whathaveyou). So I'm formatting the dri've now, seems to be going ok (i'm thinking if I can't get the player working again at least I can make a 40gb external mini hard dri've)
Anyway, what I need now is to compare this hard dri've to another zen xtra one thats working and well. If anyone has (for some bizarre reason) backed up their zen dri've in this way cause you let me know. I need to know the file structure that it uses (as the software hides the real structure) and also the firmware (a working copy please!) that is as how it is installed rather than by using the installation software for the more conventional way :smileytongue:
Any help with that is appreciated, and those of you who are like me and have a ?200 paperweight should consider making it an external dri've like this also. (cheap caddies on ebay for those who want to know!)
    hope this helps
    phil

if i get a friend's zen xtra dri've and put it in mine, would you reckon it would work or am i likely to bugger up that too?
if the firmware is part in hardware then i doubt there's a lot i can do, but my intention was to copy my friend's dri've to mine then put it in and see if it works...
    any ideas?

  • Zen Vision M Firmware Problem!!! Can't deal with this thing any more...

Can't deal with this thing any more...3 Hello friends I'm new in the forum
Well as the title mentions, I'm about to throw this thing oute of the window!!!
    It's a 30 GB Zen Vision M, I own it ,5 years now...
I have read all the relevant posts in the forum about this player, I tried my best, nothing really worked.....
So now I have a Zen which only boots in the recovery mode!!
I have Cleaned it Up, Formated it, and tried to reload its firmware BUT when I connect it and try to reload it, in the end it always says Firmware Upgrade Failed!!Really can't understand it!!!!!
I've communicated with Creative, i wasn't at all satisfied with their responses... I think what they're trying to do is to avoid me, and earn some time with really useless suggestions which I had already told them won't work!!!So in the end they wanted me to send my Zen in Italy and pay more than 100 Euros for what an ,5 year old mp3 player? No I prefer buying a new Cowon with that amount of money!!!
Anyways I'm pretty mad now, so I'll move to the subject..
I have Service Pack 3 Windows XP in my computer, and I did roll back on the Media Player 0 from the I had, using the instructions from a previous post. The truth is that it rolled back with less steps than it showed, and I say that because it mentions in a step that in the add-remove programms, in the Windows XP-Software Updates section, I should find a Windows Media player thing which really doesnt exist and I suspect it's the Service Pack 3 because I have done the same in a SP2 and worked exactly as the steps said..Anyway the fact is I have Windows Media Player 0 now!!!
Please someone tell why can't I upgrade my firmware... I can't deal with this anymore!!!!

So you say that I actually have the Windows Media Player 0, because my Zen is being recognised..
I have rebooted it several times but its just the same thing...it shows firmware problem!!
Why isn't this player working?I've seen many people, not only from here, who have the same exact problem and they gave up on their mp3... I dont have this kind of luxury to buy a new one!!I don't know whether Creative has put on this a "time bomb" or is just faulty, but I really wish it could be saved..
I'm saying it is WMP0 because the firmware file sees the player. The computer can recognize it but with WMP components that firmware file would be grayed-out..So when you reloaded the firmware did you choose "reload firmware" Before you connected it's?(That is what erases the firmware prior to uploading the firmware. If you did not do that it could cause it to fail.Do these ste

  • Upgrading Controllers firmware on a degraded RAID 5 array

    Hi guys
I have been told that upgrading the controllers firmware on a degraded raid array can cause a loss of configuration. I have been doing this for over 1 year and it has never happened, it sounds more like a myth to me that anything else but i would like some advice on it, if possible.
Is it true that the RAID Configuration can be lost by upgrading the RAID Controller? In theory isnt the RAID configuration kept on the hard drives?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pedro

No - this is not a myth. It is entirely possible to lose access to the storage either temporarily or permanently.
It is extremely bad practice to upgrade any system with a degraded component no matter how small.
Which particular array have you been upgrading?
In most arrays, the configuration is saved on multiple disks - on some arrays as a n-way mirror where n is the number of disks in the tray. However unless you know exactly what the implications are, it is extremely important that firmware updates are not carried out on degraded arrays.

  • Fix for Thunderbolt OTA firmware update , when receiving an error message

Hi, my name is Lou, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post a solution or fix for Thunderbolt users that are unable to get their firmware update OTA..
For the last 2 weeks, when i got word that the (OTA) Over The Air firmware update should be coming out, i started going on my phones setting to check for new updates and started to receive an Error message, stating to check back when service was available, well Verizons attempt at fixing the issue was to to a hard factory reset, which didn't work, they also had me go to the local Verizon Wireless store and switch out my SIM card, and that didnt work, and they also tried Forcing the update to y phone, and again No resolve.. There last solution was to send me a refurbished phone, which I am strongly against, cuz I dont want a used piece of equipment, ... well anyways, I found the solution for the fix of getting the update downloaded to your phone, from www.thunderboltforums.com ,
You first need to downlaod an app from the market titled LTE On/Off app, install it. Once installed, I turned of my WiFi on the phone, then opened the LTE On/Off app, and rememer the original setting that its on, bcuz thats the setting u will have to set it at, when your update begins...   Select the CDMA mode, not the CDMA(PRL) mode...  then exit the app.... By selecting the CDMA mode only, this should make your either 3G or 4G signal switch to a 1X symbol.. then, i restarted my phone, .... i dont think restarting is necessary, but i did it anyways... when it restarted, the signal setting was still at 1X, then I went to setting, aSoftware Update, then Check Now, and within a minute or so, the Download option appeared.  once I started the downlaod, I let about a minute pass by, then I went and opened one last time, the LTE On/Off app, and switched the setting to its default setting, and mine was the 4G option and the 4G signal kicked in, and the 78Mb download completed within 3 minutes...  hopes this helps... It helped me...

I could be wrong but I believe this has been covered but thanks for sharing still...

  • Quantum Gateway Firmware Updates Kill VPN over WiFi

Be aware, there is a known issue where newer versions of the Quantum Gateway firmware that are automatically pusehd out to these devices prevent VPN connections from being established from devices connected via WiFi. At the same time, there is no issue with wired devices establishing VPN connections. Verizon has access to an internal document on the subject that is not available to us consumers. I first noticed the problem a couple of months ago and called support. After a LONG time waiting while the tech researched the problem and then started emailing with higher level support technicians, I was finally told that it was a known issue and they would have to roll-back the firmware to a known working version. They said that would take up to 24 hours to complete but it was all working again in only 4 hours or so. Unfortunately, these devices are set to automatically look for, download and install new firmware. My gateway did that early last week and I was once again unable to establish VPN connections from devices connected to via WiFi. And again VPN from wired devices worked just fine. It took another 90 minutes on the phone to convince the tech it was a real problem, that he should look at the notes from a month before and then waiting while he emailed with others. In the end they finally rolled-back the firmware and it's all working again. Trouble is, I don't think they can stop the automatic updates from happening, so this isn't going to be the end of my troubles. Unless, of course, they actually FIX THE FIRMWARE BEFORE THEY PUSH IT OUT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! If you wire in another wireless AP (with a different SSID) and connect to it instead, the VPN connections of WiFi work just fine. So it's clear that the problem is very specific to the Quantum Gateway's handling of WiFi connections and what it does/doensn't allow those connected devices to do. If you use the same SSID on the second AP the VPN connections still fail. At least they did for me.

Alas the problems return. I've been kicked off multiple times today.
Again, same solution is to run the 'troubleshooting' in the network properties and each time it gives the same message about the default gateway not being available (and that it's been fixed).
Internet access returns for a little while before dropping out again.
I'm starting to think that certain websites, VPN's and various other things that I access that employ Javascript is what is knocking this out.
The VPN I have been using for this particular customer needs Javascript.
A website that I was checking out earlier also uses Javascript.
Could this be the common denominator?
Again why would this be a problem now though when I have had no problems like this in the past and why only with the BT HomeHub. Javascript is used all over the place so I struggle to understand why I have not had these problems before.
Perhaps the latest HomeHub Firmware has an issue with Javascript. I don't know. Clutching at straws...
Working from the office this morning (rather than at home) and I have no problems at all. Frustrating.
Do you use the same pc at work?
This might be a bright red herring, so don't let it distract you to much.
There's been some problems with Java lately. I have a favourite website which uses Java and it was giving problems.
    Check your Java updates.
Goto Control Panel and in the search area type in Java. This will take you to the Java control panel, and you can check your settings and updates. Perhaps you should adjust the settings to notify monthly (after retrieving any existing updates).
Perhaps finding the Java updates is not as simple in Windows 8.1. Is there a Control Panel equivalent in Windows 8.1?
This will eliminate one more variable for your existing problems.

  • Remove open firmware

How do I remove open firmware? I have found out it is more of a hassel than protection.

Just to be clear, are you asking how to remove an "Open Firmware Password"? The actual "Open Firmware" is software installed on the chips inside your computer (not on the hard drive, but on the chips on the logic board or components themselves). You can't remove the Open Firmware there. However, it is possible to turn off the Open Firmware password.
You can find the instructions for enabling (and disabling by unchecking the option) the Open Firmware Password application in Knowledge Base Article #106482.
    -Doug
P.S. It can be removed by force if you have physical access to the computer. I know how, but you can't post the instructions here!
