Firmware 3.0 Battery Percentage in Status Bar

Hi,
I'm currently using an iphone 3G running the 3.0 OS.
I thought there was a way to display the reamaing battery in a percentage in the status bar.
I don't seem to find it in settings. Anyone knows how to bring it up?
Thanks

Wow, that's really ridiculous. Apple is beginning to disappoint me with their withholding of features when there is absolutely no technical basis for it. Auto orientation and digital compass due to lack of a magnetometer? Understandable. I thought not providing voice control was lame but this takes the cake.

  • Why doesnt the Ipod touch 5th gen have Battery Percentage with IOS 7?

I read that the Ipod touch 5th gen will have battery percentage with IOS 7. But so far it doesnt. Just wanted to know if this was a lie or if something happened and apple decided to remove it.

"Battery percentage in status bar added to iPod Touch (5th generation)"
    I seen this
and i have seen pictures of the Ipod touch with the percentage next to the battery on the apple website.

  • On the ipod touch 4th generation running on ios 6.1.3 can you get the battery percentage as a status bar item?

I am wondering if you could because it would really help if i could.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Battery percentage is only available for the iPad and iPhone, not the iPod touch

  • Battery charge info in status bar is incorrect!  HELP!

This issue started a day or two ago and at first I thought it was no big deal, but it's actually quite a problem! I've got a 15.4" Macbook Pro that I bought in May, and have never had any problems up until this point. But then I noticed that the icon in the status bar where it says the percentage of battery charge and says whether it's running off battery or it's plugged in - it's WRONG. It's stuck at 99% and says it's plugged in. All the time. Even when it's almost dead and not plugged in. So I can't tell how much battery charge it has left. In all of the places where you can view info about the battery, the info is wrong - it says it's fully charged, that I have a long time left, etc. but it's not true. So now it can completely out of batteries and shut down and I won't be able to tell that it's running low.
Has anyone had this problem? What do I do? Is this a software or a hardware issue? HELP!

Have you tried resetting the PRAM ?

  • Battery Percentage Bar ???

I have a new iPhone 5C.  Up until today I had no problems. This morning the battery percentage bar was all black but said 100%.  I plugged it in and the bar was all green and still said 100%.  When I remove the charger plug it goes back to being all black but keeps saying 100%.  Can anyone assist with this issue please?  Thanks.

Hi Lugi, thanks for your reply. I just wanted clarify here as some sites are claiming the downgrading is possible.
Unauthorized modification of iOS can cause security vulnerabilities, instability, shortened battery life, and other issues
Downgrading "may" be "technically" possible through jailbreaking, which WILL VOID any and ALL warranty you may have and support from Apple and these forums ( Please read the ENTIRE article I linked to ).
You also put yourself at significant risk of turning your iPhone into a very expensive paperweight.

Anyway I was wondering if I restote via Itunes will the fast discharging of battery improve?
I have found two articles online that may help with the battery drainage issue until Apple releases an update that fixes the issue: 1.)http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/how-to-manage-and-control-cellular-data-u sage-on-your-iphone.
    2.) http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/how-to-improve-iphone-battery-life-in-ios -711?utm_campaign=tmo_waylf.
I can not say how good or valid the information in these links may be as I don't have an iPhone.

  • IPad 2 update/firmware 6.1.3 status bar stuck

It won't let me update the iPad to the newest update.
The apple logo and status bar screen comes up, but it gets stuck around 10% everytime.
    It's already in DFU mode.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm saying to wait a bit longer. If it were mine, I would want it to work in every aspect and fashion. I will ocassionaly have connection issues on mine, but only occasionally. I can usually resolve them on the spot.
It sounds odd to me that it would start working with your home network all of suddent without making any changes. However, I've had similiar experiences with computers and electronic devices in general. Having trouble connecting to one particular network, other than at home, would be something that I could live with. Having trouble with many, I could not live with.
How did you restore it last time? If you used itunes then try directly on the ipad. Do the opposite of what you did before.
Be aware, this might put you back at square one again with the wifi issue at home.
But if it were me, I would restore back to factory settings again, just to satisfy my own curiousity.
    How to restore
    Via itunes

    via device

  • IOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 3G showing numeric battery percentage!!!!

YES! your guess is right. It was jailbroken. However, I restored the phone to factory settings yesterday and then restored from the most current backup. I did this cause jailbreaking made my phone lag very bad. Everything that came from cydia and cydia itself are gone. What remains is a normal iPhone 3g running iOS 4.2.1 However, the battery percentage continues to show in the status bar! Can someone guide me to get the normal conditions please...

Yes, there are ways to remove the tweak by using ibackupbot for windows , sorry ! No Mac support. And ibackupbot will find the most recent backup of your devices and select your backup you want to use. Then find that plist and double click on it. It will as you to register but click cancel. You will now see a plist editor, try and find an array/ line that says something about SBBattery or something and remove that line or set the value to FALSE then press F7 or F11 and it should ask you if you want to restore your device and click yes. Your iPhone will not loose any data. Only the plist should of been changed. Sorry for this long guide! :) You might also have a look around the Internet on "How to get battery percentage on iPhone without jailbreaking. When they say add this string/text, do the opposite, find and remove the text they ask you to put in. Or as I said before you can just change the value to false.

  • Battery Percentage not showing up in iOS8

Every time I try to turn it on in settings > general > usage nothing shows beside the battery bar in the corner. Anyone else having this problem?

Same. When I restart or reset my 4S it briefly shows battery status as a percentage on the lock screen. Then the screen refreshes and from then on the battery status it's shown as a battery regardless of the Battery Percentage setting.
I think it started doing this today after I charged it. There were a 9-10 application updates today but no iOS updates.

  • Dstatus: Yet another status bar for dwm

I decided to fix up my custom dwm status bar that I've hacked on for awhile into something a bit more presentable. Therefore, I give you dstatus!
So what makes this different from the rest? For starters, it's somewhat laptop specific. Things like battery, backlight, and possibly SSID aren't of much use to a desktop. However, these bits can be turned off at compile time if you don't want them. In fact, all the elements can be toggled and rearranged however you like it.
In addition, the main loop polls as little as necessary; just time, cpu usage, and battery are polled. Other elements are updated by threads listening to events.
    Configuration:
config.mk defines which elements will be compiled into the binary. Turn any of them off by commenting out the appropriate line.
config.h defines the look of everything. Elements can be formatted (in a limited fashion) according to printf. Some elements can display either a percentage or a bar.
I've also provided an AUR package.
The source is UNLICENSED so feel free to hack away. :-)

Thanks @jasonwryan, I just don't know where to post it

  • Incorrect battery percentage on my iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 and in the past few days it has been showing the incorrect battery percentage. The other day I charged my phone all night and woke up with only %7 battery so I turned it off, but when I turned it back on I had %100. It also keeps dying when I get to only %60.
