Firmware for NoKia 3230

i can't find the software update for N 3230. so, i chose software update for 3250. please tell me, can i do that?

I'm not sure what you mean, but what I described above is a bit of a chicken-and-egg -problem for the 3230:
In order for NSU to work, the 3230 must have the required support for "do-it-yourself" firmware updates in the first place.
As such support for S60 was not created before S60 2nd Edition FP2, and the 3230 is based on S60 2nd Ed. FP1 without the required firmware updating support, it is not possible to use NSU with the 3230.
Also, there's no S60 2nd Ed. FP2 updates for the 3230.
In other words, if you want to update your 3230, take it to your nearest Nokia service/repair center: http://www.nokia.com/repair
(You can probably also buy some relatively expensive phone flashing equipment and illegally distributed Nokia firmware files off the Internet, but just such equipment costs more than a new phone even without the illegal part. So, best to go to a repair center, I say.)

Today i installed the newest firmware for nokia c3-00 : 8.65 with great anticipation that it would fix the problems and thats what i found out after hard and soft resets many times...
** Chat application is still not accesable. I just cant open it in the MESSAGING section even if i click it again and again ... can you fix this?

I had the same problem with this firmware update
and for a moment I thought I had ruined my phone, but it occurred to me
perform a factory reset on the phone and Communities and Chat surprise and something that works perfectly also note is that the browser to retrieve the factorygoes a little faster.
I mention it again from your phone please contact Menu> Settings> Restore FactorySettings> All, expect to complete the restoration and your phone is 100% functional.
Note: Before you restore a backup made of all your files, emails, contacts, etc. That everything is removed with the restoration.

It's not about old or not, it's about that productcode which is under your battery. Take a look here, and follow the instructions. If there is not an update available, you just have to wait.

are you sure the flashlight is on phone memory and not in memory card? Coz for memory card apps, resets dont do squat.

I'm requesting for a new firmware for Nokia N70, nokia n70 is a tough fighter. Competetive... But it needs new improvments.
-fast loading when you access the menu
-enhanced camera
-faster internet browsing
-listen to radio without headset
-using the flash of the camera as Flashlight
-needs sms accelerator, for faster sending of text messages.

New Firmware for Nokia 5800

hello. Nokia 523x and nokia c6 are getting firmware updates. it got some interesting new updates such as qt 4.7.3 and symbian anna browser. so it will also be possible for Nokia 5800 to receive a firmware update ?

5800 had received many updates, even more than the N97/N97mini. It is less likely that 5800 or any other S60v5 handeset would get an update with new features. Not sure 5230 and C6 got updated to Anna web browser, because Anna update is only for S3 devices and when devices like N8 and E7 are waiting for Anna it is nearly impossible that older devices has got that update. You can directly install Qt to your phone anyway by downloading files from http://developer.nokia.com.

I'm updating my phone right now, but as all previous firmware versions, there is no change log. We have to figure out what has been fixed this time.

After a quick search around, i get completely lost about the right and safe firmware for this phone.
There are some issues ready to be fixed, so im guessing nokia is working on that. Having that said, i see to many firmwares, to many versions, to many sources, absolutely no oficial news on that.

Allready seen that page. Like i said, no oficial notices for new firmware for C7...
Actualy, even i dont input my product code, when i select the phone, immediately i get: There are no software updates available for this product yet
So, i understand there is zero releases for this phone, since its exists....
Hope im wrong.
Paid big money for a phone who doesnt identify the sms sender.....

New firmware for Nokia E90

Today I received a notification that a new firmware revision is available for the E90. It is listed as version 200.34.73
My current version is 07.40.1.2.
Did Nokia make a tremendous leap in versions (07->200) or is this an error?
Furthermore, if this new version is the correct one, can someone tell me what the changes are?

Windows Vista is just one of several Operating systems for PCs
It is relatively new ..The most widely used OS is XP and that is the OS that Nokia first address.
Perhaps if you ask Bill Gates to be more forthcoming with the code for his Vista OS it would be easier for Nokia to be 100% compatible with all Windows OS.
Also the latest FW is not yet available for all variants of E90.
If your PCs NSU is not finding and up date for your phone it could be that the code indicates that there is not yet a new FW available.
I am still using FW V07.24.0.3 June 2007. it work just fine.

I am always fill my MMC card from PC having updated antivirus like quick heal. So is their any requirement of antivirus for my nokia 3230? If yes kindly tell me sample suitable antiviruses so that I can install into my device.

A virus cannot infect a S60 phone without definite, positive action from the user explicitly allowing it to install and granting it access to the phone's resources. As such, you need not worry about an antivirus for the phone.
Your only risk here is the phone transporting a virus that affects the computers to which you connect it. Your solution there is to use an antivirus on those computers.
