Firmware update (12.0.089 or 20.0.005) for nokia 5...

someone please tell me.... my firmware ver. now is 12.0.089 and for me it worked well.... but there is a new update for 5230.... ver. 20.0.005.... Can someone tell me : Is there any bugs in this update? I really uncertain to update it to this version, coz everyone said that there are some bugs... will it be OK?

I checked the discussions board, someone there said that there are 4 bugs encountered in his/her 5230. It made me confused as I thought it's important to make the firmware up-to-date. I forgot to bookmark that discussion page...I remembered that one of the bugs is that menu will delay for seconds when u press the menu button. And installer will freeze when ran after downloaded from the browser.
But thanks for the reply...

  • Need? firmware update on 1.8GH Dual processor G5 PwrMac for Tiger upgrade.

Equipment: refurbed 1.8Ghz PowerMac Dual processor, running OS10.3.9 Panther just fine. CPU's: PowerPC 970 (2.2); Bus speed: 900MHz. Boot Rom: 5.1.4fo
I read on Forums of problems some single processor 1.8 G5's have had with firmware updates prior to attempting to run OS 10.4.3 . I was about to install Tiger 10.4.3, now wonder if it will open a can of worms if I update firmware prior to the install. The reported problems were on machines with bus speed of 600mHz; as mine has a 900mHz bus speed, am I not likely to encounter that difficulty? I would appreciate any input from those familiar with this issue. Sounded like some of the affected owners were really stuck for a long time with that particular problem. Thanks.

Since you did not specify which particular model you have, it's hard to tell you whether a firmware update is even required. Open System Profiler and in the summary look for the Machine Model. If it's 7,2 then 5.1.4 is the current firmware version. If it's 7,3, then 5.1.8 is the current firmware version.

  • Firmware Update 1.7 drains battery and causes problems for sound

I have a Macbook Pro early 2011 with a SSD. After installing Firmware 1.7 I saw the beach ball over and over even after rebooting... this problem got resolved after I plugged in power cable and is now gone even when it is running on battery. But the sound of my MBP goes randomly on/off when I plug in/out my headphones and the worst problem is that prior to the 1.7 I got up to 5 hours of battery but now only 2:30 hours. I've only 470 cycles of my battery. Resseting the SMC didn't help and unfortuaneltly there is no way of downgrading the firmware. What should I do?? This is definietly a firmware problem which supposedly was released to solve a rare battery problem on some machines not to cause problems on others.

I am seeing this problem as well.
Before the SMC Update 1.7 the battery was fine. After, it hibernated within a half hour of use on battery. Upon wake-up the Service Battery warning is in the battery menu, and the time remaining calculation has gone from several hours at a full charge to less than 10 minutes.
My battery is original MacBookPro8,2; I rarely work on battery, relying on it mostly to keep my computer going while asleep during a half hour commute to/from work. System Information's Power tab reports
    Cycle Count:          19
I plan to try a battery calibration soon; if that fails, then the Apple Store.

  • X6 RM 551. Firmware update 30.2.003 or 30.2.005?

When checking updates for my phone, 30.2.005 is shown. When I upgrade using NSU or Ovi Suite, 30.2.003 is installed. Then, I am immediately prompted to update again. Each time, 30.2.003 is installed.

Hi I am facing  some bug in new Firmware V50.0.005
    1) In the music library it is not showing any song.(i am having arround 500 songs in memory card)
    2) If i try to refresy the library, it will not complete the process. (i.e. continuesly it will show refreshing and i have manuly stoped after 1 hour). and still no songs in all songs list.
3)While playing radio it will hang after some time.(After 15 min to half an hour). you have to restart  your phone to close that radio application. (no other go)
If any Solution is there for this please let me know.
    Thanks in advance
    Ssandesh T S

For the radio problem, You may have to try to reinstall your firmware, or failing that, you may have to do a reset.
    For the music library:
    1. Connect your 5800 to you PC in Mass Storage Mode
    2. On your PC you will need to have allowed to “Show” hidden files, do this from Explorer/Tools/ Folder Options/ View and select “Show hidden files and Folder”
    3. Open your SD memory card/Removable Disk in My Computer on PC
    4. Go to E:\ Private there you will see 3 folders 101f8857, 101ffca9 and 10281e17 .
    5. Go to Private\101f8857\Cache\E there you will see .dat files. Delete all the .dat file BUT NOT the E Folder. Shown above right
    6. Now go to Private\101ffca9 there you will see another .dat file, Delete the dat file NOT the folder.
    7. Finally go to Private\10281e17 There you should see 4 files 2 are Mp3 files other are Podcast files. Delete mpxv2_2.db & mpxv2_2.db-journal for Mp3 files list and Delete pcv6_1.db & pcv6_1.db-journal for Podcast files list. Shown above right
    8. Close all windows and disconnect your Phone. Go to Music Library and it should automatically start a refresh.

  • Firmware 061.005 for nokia C5

My nokia c-5 found a new upgrate for firmware (061.005), but when I try to download it and install it, it doesn't work and say that isn't compatibile. Am I the only one with this problem? What could I do?

I noticed that in some games ported from Another Guest steamed sound, then the game Global Race Raging Thunder is played on half the screen. Just shooting the camera, when increases, the survey steamed. I did not notice a difference of 31 firmware!!!
Why are other devices on the symbian 9.3 everything is fine, but on the C5 a lot of bugs?! I feel frustrated ... now I have depression ...=(

  • Ran Mac OS X before firmware update! How to fix?"...?

    Hello everybody,
    im whit a problem.
i have a iMac G3 350MHz (no VGA port add the back)

So i installed the HDD+ DVD player.
I turned the iMac on and it booted from the HDD and there was OX 10 installed on it.
so my boss sad to Zap the PRAM ( Apple,Option,R,P) so i did it.
now i dont get anny screen but when i push the On/Off button i hear the iMac sound when it boots, and i hear the sound when a CTF screen boots so it go's on but i still have a blackscreen .
i think this is a Firmware problem.

    - Reset PMU
    - Switching Batary

Just yesterday I managed to rescue (on the last ditch attempt) a strawberry iMac DV (400MHz) that had exactly this problem. I read through the documentation suggested on this thread and discovered that it had moved all the way through to the 'Stage 4' issue; it would automatically power down about 6-7 seconds after the welcome chime. Before reading the docs I'd zapped the PRAM and removed the battery multiple times thinking I was doing the right thing, so it was well and truly stuck.
Luckily, before it died I had updated to OS 9.1 and run the firmware update, but of course you need to reboot for the update to actually be written to the chip. I'd actually given up and put it on the recycle pile, only to find myself with a spare half hour in the afternoon. This is exactly what I did to get it back to life. Note that the battery had been out for a couple of hours prior to trying this.
    1. Put on desk, upside down with all panels open, not connected to anything.
    2. Remove everything (which in this machine was just RAM - battery was already out and it had no Airport card).
    3. Put battery back in. Very old battery, so no idea if it had much charge.
    4. Pressed internal PRAM reset button once, briefly (no more than 1 second).
    5. Waited for about 20 seconds.
    6. Put a 256MB card into slot J13 that I had just pilfered from an old PC. It previously had in it two 64MB cards.
    7. Plugged into a monitor, then the mains and turned power on.
    8. Waited for about 20 seconds.
    9. Pushed in the programmers button and held it down while tapping the power button.
    10. Released programmers button when the evil beep sound happened.
I was then very surprised that it not only stayed running, but actually started the firmware update! I guess I was very lucky in that I'd managed to run the firmware application in OS 9.1 before the machine got stuck, otherwise you'd need to boot into Mac OS, run the app and then reboot a second time to get it to apply the update.
Best of luck - this iMac DV is now off to a new home instead of the bin. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it copes with OS X 10.4.11.

  • Searching for firmware update for Lucent Tech (Silver to Gold)

I have a Lucent Tech. Silver PCMCIA card (PC24E-H-FC) that i picked up because it has the port for an external antenna so i can use it in the garage for storing and looking up manuals. I understand that it is possible through firmware update to switch it to a gold card for slightly higher WEP encryption level.
Does anyone know where to get that firmware update? I realize that it probably has to be done on a PC.
Everywhere i search leads me to the Proxim website where you have to open a service ticket to get to their downloads section.
Am using it with a Wallstreet II 300/192Mb.
Is the silver to gold possible or is it unatainable alchemy?
Any links would be appreciated, thank you.

    Hi funky,
I found this page, which you might find useful:

In the longest article on top, the links don't work, but if you scroll all the way down, there are some simple instructions. I have not followed them myself, so I cannot vouch for them, but I thought it could help

  • Linksys Firmware Update Process Change

Linksys is starting to rollout firmware updates to router's that have the "Check for Firmware Update" or "Auto Firmware Update" features in a batch process.

You know with my Galaxy S5 I have auto updates enabled. I like it but as soon as the first bad update occurs it will be turned off.Sure but w/ your Galaxy S5 (assuming a carrier one) you would be surprised at how difficult it is for Samsung to get the carriers to approve that update (LOTS of testing). Additionally, you at least get some sort of release notes. Nothing major. Final item, a Galaxy S5 is a single user device.  A Router supports "multiple single user devices".  So if a router dies from an update, that could impact 10+ Samsung WiFi clients.vs. just 1 phone that dies. To me, "scope of impact" and "release management" factor into these sort of decisions...Real world scenario: Someone is in the middle of NetFlix streaming a movie. If I update the router firmware and interrupt that, I might not live to post on these forums Just imagine what more "productive" situations could arise. For ,my phone, if I update it, no one is impacted but me.

  • Timing of firmware updates

If it is relevant, I have a HomeHub 3B
Firmware updates (by which I mean the "CWMP:session" activities in the Event Log) used to take place on my HH in the early hours of the morning. This was perfect timing for me.
Since 8th November these now happen just after 10:00am, normally this is no problem but today an update was needed and of course a HH reboot. I happened to be working at home today so this was annoying.
I cannot see anywhere in the standard HH GUI to change the timing of these. Does anyone know of way to alter the time these updates happen?
    Thanks in advance
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Pity about the lack of control on timing. My experience of the HH3B has been 100% reliability and reasonable wireless coverage, the firmware updates in the early hours were no issue for me. Potentiallly rebooting itself everyday at 10:00am is a problem for me when I work from home.
I guess my only solution is to buy my own router.
I wonder if this change of timing is to do with BT Sport...?

  • 1308 Firmware Update for Puerto Rico Lumia 620

I was wondering if anyone had an idea on when the 1308 firmware update will be pushed to Lumia 620s that are the Puerto Rico variant? I have an unlocked 620 from Puerto Rico and I would really like to enjoy the new features in that firmware update.
    Solved!

    hi mate,
Nokia has stated a few weeks ago that the update has begun rolling out and will take a number of weeks before it reaches particular countries / operators. if your device is being held up, then you may want to check with your network carrier if your phone is a branded handset.

  • Firmware Update is unsuccessful

The SuperDrive Firmware Update Version 3.0 19MB, which works with MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.4, has been downloaded by my computer multiple times and each time the computer is unsuccessful in installing it. An error message pops up after the attempt at installation that reads: There was a problem installing this update. Underneath there is another small screen that states The update was installed successfully. This happens even if I close it down and go through the software update process first thing after a restart.
Is there a way to get this firmware update installed? My computer has been trying for what seems like months.

I had this issue. It seems that you have to install Leopard and then apply the update, rather than trying to update in Snow Leopard.

Be very very sure to select the correct one.
Install this one and see if it works. Usually this is a better way anyway.
