Firmware update failing and constant restart loop PLEASE HELP

I was updating my firmware, the update that fixes problems with batteries over 1000 loads.
The loading bar on the apple screen gets half way, then it shuts down. I turn the computer on again and it just repeats.
Please help.

Just giving an update incase somebody else might have this problem too.
I took it to my local Mac repair shop and it turns out there was actually a problem with my hard drive, and the fact it decided to happen right after my firmware update was just a coincidence.

Zen Micro - firmware update failed so now "dead"

I have a firmware problem with my Zen Micro. Can anyone help?
The series of actions I have taken so far are these:
I got my Micro in January 2006. I now want to run Audible software to listen to their books so I downloaded the firmware update L6_2_2_02.exe from the Creative support site which is stated as providing the Audible?facility.
I backed up the Micro contents using Creative MeadiaSource Organiser. I then ran the firmware update from my Win XP PC. This started OK and I got a series of messages about what was happening. Then it stopped with the progress indicator bars about 2/3 across. I left it for half an hour and nothing changed so clicked to stop the update.
I checked the firmware version on the Micro and it said 2.2.02. The update?looked OK and the FM worked but of course I had no music content.
I opened my Creative MeadiaSource Organiser (v 3.0.09) but it said no device is connected so I was unable to reload the music. My XP PC recognised the Micro as connected and I checked Device Manager which showed the "device is working properly". I was also able to synch music to the Micro using Windows Media Player and this played OK. I tried another computer and could also synch using Windows Media Player but I wanted to reload my music from the backup.
I looked on the Creative site for the steps to take when a firmware update fails. The Zen Micro is not on the list as supporting the MP3 Player Recovery Tool so I did not use that. I followed the Reload Failure recovery instructions and ran Clean UP, then Format All, but this did not fix it so I ran Reload Firmware on the Micro. This was a big mistake!
Now when I try to run the firmware update from my Win XP PC, I select English then I get the message "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". I checked again and XP still recognises the Micro and the device is working. It is no longer recognised by Windows Media Player but just? appears to XP as an empty storage device.
The Micro now shows the firmware as v 0.0.65, but now it is stuck in Recovery Mode. I have contacted Creative Support but their reply is that this player is now over 3 years old, reached its end of service life, so there is no support other than on their web site. Following their web site recovery instructions got me into this mess so I guess?no extra help is offered from Creative.
The player is now essentially dead. Unless there is some way to get the firmware update program to recognise the device as connected, then I don't know how to fix this. This is a shame as it is a nice little player for my music collection.
Can anyone help as I don't know what to do next?

Firmware update failed - how to resolve remotely

I bought my father an Apple TV so he could subscribe and watch MLB. Everything was working fine until the Apple TV attempted to update itself. Apparently the firmware update failed. I need to know how to remotely resolve this for him. I can access his PC remotely so I read some info that you can update Apple TV via iTunes. I also need to confirm that the USB socket on the Apple TV is a USB Mini type. I'm assuming you can just plug the Apple TV into a USB socket and then from iTunes initiate the firmware update, much like you do an iPad. He's not very technically savvy, so I need to do this for him or have him call Apple support.
Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

If he hasn't done so get him to do the old fashioned trick of unplugging teh mains power to it and restarting.
If it restarts correctly the update can be reattempted.
If it's truly bricked then return to Apple or restore using itunes will be necessary.

Firmware update fail m1536

I have an HP Laserjet Pro M1536dnf MFP. The other day, I received the "Firmware Corrupt Ready 2 Download" message on my printer. I downloaded the Firmware Update program and ran it according to the directions, as best that I could, because as soon as I power on my printer, I get the message. I've tried holding down various buttons to try to get the Control Panel up so I can check if the RFU is set to ON, but it does not come up. Any suggestions?

I had to really search in regards to this document I found. I tried following its instructions for an XP computer on my Windows 7 computer and I could not but I will summarize. It suggests stopping the print spooler to clear the print queue and then restarting the spooler, uninstalling the driver using a cleaner like HP Removal Utility and re-installing the driver. Here is a link to the driver's download page but I do not want to provide a specific driver name to re-install in case you have specialized needs but I can recommend the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
I really think you will benefit from reading this forum thread all the way through to get a handle on what others have experienced. I see Kodi@k has taken ownership of this error message it seems and provides great suggestions to fixing this in other threads as well. This thread is for a different LaserJet but should give a more detailed explanation than the above document. Let me know if you have any questions about this. One thread suggests the user has a fried internal chip within the printer but it seems others have fixed it by following the steps outlined in the thread. I hope this fixes your printer!

HP laptop update failed, and now it wont stop undoing changes.

When I went on my laptop today it started updating, and after an hour when it finally got to 99% it said they the update failed, and it's now undoing changes. It's been like that for over 3 hours now. How can I try to fix this?

You can try getting to Advance Boot Menu by
1. Repeatly pressing f8when the laptop boot up (Disable FASTBOOT when you are tyring to get into Advance boot menu)
2.Shift and F8 (When the first options doesn't help at all )
then use the Keyboard arrow keys to navigate around Advance boot menu and select Last known good boot configration or restore this PC (Please be minded that if you choose restoring it will restore to a back to the last known backup , as data will be lost )

Try to drag an app into folder and then drag it out.
Or reset you iPhone. Hold down Power and Home buttons until Apple logo appears. Release and wait to reboot.

Firmware update failed hdd not recognizing now

my 1tb mypassport was working perfectly fine untill i tried to upgrade firmware. it failed and now hdd is nor being recognized. no ticking sound. lifht turns on windows vive usb conection sound but nothing appears no error or driveplz help me.i have very iortanr data on itthanks

The drive is probably bricked. I only do the firmware updates if there is a problem with the drive or a security issue. Sometimes if it ain't broke don't fix it is the best policy!Joe

I have a MacBook Air. I have got a software update notification couple of days ago. I've clicked on it today, and it started installing updates.
But, I have got a notification telling that not all updates were installed successfully, then I have clicked on "Restart" from the notification box. Then my Mac restarted and the white screen with Apple logo and the update progress appeared (like what always happens during updates).
The problem that while the update progress reached around half the way, my Mac shutdown. I tried many times to turn it on, it turns and the same white screen appears and the update starts again and shuts down.
Please Help me!

You did not state whether you installed the update while on battery (not mains) power. You are warned not to apply certain updates without being connected to a charger & mains power.
Also remove any attached peripherals.
Reboot in Repair mode (command-R at start) and use Disk Tools-Disk Utility-Disk First AId to repair your disk, and as long as you're there repair permissions. Next quit Disk Tools and reinstall the OS. After completing that successfully reboot, log in and do a combo update.
You must have more than enough (not just enough) empty (free) disk space for the update.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Storeand turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.
