I am unable to see contacts or use the phone.  Contacts: application people (process com.android.htc contacts) has stopped unexpectedly.  Phone: process android.process.acor has stopped unexpectedly.

  • SPA112 firmware upgrade from 1.0.1 to 1.2.1 kills the SPA

    I took a brand-new, unconfigured SPA112 out of the box, plugged it into DHCP-enabled network, noted it was running v1.0.1 firmware and attempted a firmware upgrade to 1.2.1 via the web management utility.
    After reporting a successful upgrade there was no further response from the SPA112 to HTTP requests, neither was there any response to pings. ARP requests are responded to successfully. The IVR works (as well as the IVR ever works) until I selected to perform a factory reboot at which point the IVR stopped responding as well. Holding the reset button for 20sec does nothing useful. It's dead, Jim.
    I've had this experience on another SPA112 as well under similar circumstances although there is nothing in the Release Notes for v1.2.1 to say that such an upgrade does not work.
    My questions:
    1)Is there any way of recovering these devices or do I need to send them back to Cisco?
    2) How am I supposed to perform such a firmware upgrade?

    I tried upgrading the firmware upgrade from v1.0.1 to v 1.2.1 and I had the same problem. The device just stopped responding. I tried that in a lab and I figured out what exactly to do when you get in to a problem like that. So lets start off once again.
    Snce SPA112 must get an IP first through a DHCP on WAN port. Connect the SPA 112 device according to the instructins told in this article till the step 3.

    In your case I believe the window got stucked at the point when it says "The upgrade is successful" and then there was no further response to HTTP requests.
    Restart the device and see if it works or not. If it does not then log in to the router web GUI and navigate to the ARP table and see what are the VLAN assigned to the IP address.
    NOTE: Both the router and SPA should be in the same VLAN. This way only the device will respond to the HTTP requests. If they are in a different VLAN's, navigate to the VLAN and disable the LAN memberships. For example there are two VLAN ID 1 and 100. Disable the LAN ports for the ID 100 and only enable it for 1.
    Navigate to the ARP table again and refresh it. Both the IP addresses should be in the same VLAN. If yes. Access the SPA112 with an IP address assigned to it again and navigate to Administration > Firmware Upgrade. You will see the firmware of the device has been upgraded.
    (optional) Upgrade the firmware again. This time, it will go through and the device will restart.

    Try booting up in Safe mode (holding down the Shift key while booting). If the software came with an unistaller, use it to remove alll traces of the software - it's nothing that you need and, as you've experienced, can do more actual hard than good (as is the case with most software of this type). When you're booted in Safe Mode, if you can't run an uninstaller, at least check to make sure that there are no Trend Micro items that are set for automatic log in, at least.

    I had the same problem.  Here is what worked for me.  Open the mail app and delete your exchange account (Settings > Delete Account).  Then re-add your Exchange account.  After this my Exchange contacts showed up again.

    HXFi-2- Latest firmware (.20.08) has caused some issues on 32GB model... When I started my PC last night, it notified me that new firmware was avaliable so it downloaded it and installed it on my Xfi-2 32GB
    According to the release notes, it was to add support for the 64 GB model as well as some general improvements.
    I can't determine what the latest improvements were (anyone have any clues ) and the UI seems the same.....the only things that have changed are that my applications no longer work (when I go into the applications shortcut, it says there is no valid content: I haven't touched these folders etc and they are still populated with the three standard apps as far as I can tell)
    The other thing (which may not be related to the firmware upgrade) is that my photos shortcut now pulls up some of my music folders that contain album art. Is this a feature or a bug (I don't want it to happen, I just want it to show photos within the 'photos' folder on the device).... I think it may have been caused by me simply dragging and dropping music folders onto the device using windows explorer rather than going through Centrale (slow!)

    What release notes are you reading? I have seen no reference to improvements other than adding support for the new 64 GB model on this firmware version. From the description of the problems you have, it seems that your player has some sort of file system corruption on the internal flash. I would suggest reinstalling the firmware on your device after formatting it (formatting the device only should be enough, I think).
    The size of the new firmware release, double than the size on the previous one, means that it probably has new features and applications that will be enabled on the future; however I doubt it means it has new features right now and hope it does not means we have two firmwares (on for the 64 GB model and other for the previous ones) as the SRM/AlphaBIOS pair on the Digital Alpha systems (an ugly hack on these superb computers, in my humble opinion) -- by the way, the new firmware does not require more space on the internal flash (I have 5077 MB available on mine with all firmware releases).
    The behavior you describe about album art being shown on the photos shortcut happens with older firmware releases too; I prefer album art embedded on the audio files instead of being available as another file. I agree with you, only pictures under the photos directory should be shown as images.

  • No one from Verizon has addressed my previous post, so I'll ask again:

    WHAT IN THE HECK happened during the 5/22/14 update that messed up Android phones on Verizon? Is it possible to UN-update??? I have a Motorola Droid Razr M. ( I have a friend who has a Samsung Galaxy Note, and she is having similar problems as me).  I LOVED my phone until this May 22, 2014 update....now I HATE it.  And don't tell me there is something wrong with my phone.....these issues started IMMEDIATELY after re-starting my phone after installing the update.  I have gone through all the typical troubleshooting steps already. Here is a list of my issues, in no particular order:
    1.  Device vibration upon incoming call/text is so faint now it is undetectable when the phone is in my pocket or purse.   It worked just fine before. 
    2.  LED light to signal incoming call or text, missed call, or low battery no longer working....I only get an LED light with incoming call and it is a very pale, faint white light that is hard to see in the daylight. No light for missed call, incoming text, or battery.
    3.  Calls drop constantly when I cradle the phone between my chin and shoulder.  Never had this problem before, and I ALWAYS cradle the phone.  I believe this problem exists because of issue #4....
    4.  Prior to update, during a call, if I had the phone up to my ear, the buttons would go to black screen so there was no accidental bumping of buttons, until I pulled the phone away from my ear.  After update, buttons stay visible during call, thus possibly leading to the issue above.
    5. No longer able to switch between calls using call waiting feature. First call is always dropped when I go to switch.
    6. Volume on calls significantly reduced....even with volume all the way up.  Very hard to hear the caller talking now unless they raise their voice!
    7. It is now taking a good 5-8 seconds for a call to begin from the time I click on my contact to the time the number actually dials.  I don't understand the sudden delay!
    8.  All my icons for apps/widgets changed.  Not liking new format.    
    9. Not liking new format on white text message screen....very hard to see in daylight. Not liking inability to delete multiple messages at once.
    10.  Not liking format of contacts list, with no letter tabs on sides to go directly to the letter I want, I have to scroll through whole list now.
    11.  Update messed with my Weather Underground App (dark grey on the radar map now, making it hard to see precipitation), and Facebook (cannot operate several functions within Facebook that were easily accessible just prior to the phone update). New format on Google Play Music has changed and is no longer user-friendly!!
    12.  Update installed several apps that I do not want nor need on my phone but yet I cannot un-install.  Perhaps leading to issue #13....
    13.  BATTERY LIFE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED SINCE UPDATE.....AM CHARGING PHONE TWICE A DAY NOW BUT NOT USING IT ANY MORE THAN BEFORE!!
    14.  Can no longer download music from MP3 download site to Google Play Music. Downloads go to Astro File manager and cannot be moved to Google Play Music widget.
    I clean cache/history and run Antivirus software at least once weekly.  I manage running tasks/apps.  I do not download apps,  no do I download music from questionable sources.  And yet I have at least 14 problems/issues since the update!  And I have been reading online that MANY Android owners are having many of the same issues & complaints since the 5/22/14 update. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE!!  THESE UPDATES.....WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO "FIX" SOMETHING THAT ISN'T EVEN BROKEN????  Because....NOW it IS broken....
    Verizon.......do something about this, please??????

    Neenert88 I sympathize with you.  I just added a line to my account because of major issues with the Droid Razor M which they could not fix.    I can't view email 99% of the time. I can open the app but that's as far as it goes.  I live by email some days so it's causing big issues for me at times.  No answer from Verizon when I had the problem with the Razor either, just that they are aware there are bugs and give it few weeks to see if they make any patches.  I don't have several weeks to sit and wait to see if someone decides to make a decision to fix the issues.
    I'm paying for a service that I cannot use, and there seems to be no care from anyone to resolve a thing.  It's ok that they receive their payments but when there is a problem, everyone seems to disappear.  Forget about insurance, $100.00 later, on top of what you paid already, you get a crappy refurbished phone that someone else already returned because of issues.
    I have an appointment tomorrow with Verizon.  If they can't fix the problem and guarantee it tomorrow, they can take the phone back for a full refund, of EVERYTHING, or reduce my bill for no access until they do, or I'll take my business someplace else and NOT purchase a product with the Droid OS.   Such a shame.  I guess they don't believe in performing testing on applications or OS before it's rolled out to the public. 

  • How the heck do i get a firmware upgrade from my computer to the router?

    I went to this site here to try and make my router work. It is a WRT54GS wireless router, and I saw where i could download some firmware upgrade, so I clicked on it and saved it to my desktop. It is a .bin file. Now how do I get that file to the router?????
    The router was working until today and now it isn't sending out a wireless signal. However, it is still connecting my computer to the internet through its wire (modem to router, router to computer with cable). But when I open the Easylink software, it says that the internet connection is not working, even though the little green light is on for "wireless" on the front of the router.
    But anyway, how do I get this downloaded file onto the router??? There isn't any usb ports on the router to connect to it. There isn't anything in the Easylink software that gives me that option, or if there is they hid it pretty good. They really should explain how to do this, or do they expect everyone to have a degree in networking or computers or something? I need some help here 

    As sabretooth suggested,Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
    Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now,Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

    You really cant upload files through the Console connection. Its not a network connection.
    Your PC might have an IP address configured but that would be configured in its network interface card which has nothing to do with the console cable connection.
    So you will have to configure one of the ASAs network interfaces with IP address and other basic settings. Then you need to configure the PCs network interface cards settings to match the IP address/subnet configured on the ASA. Then you will have an connection between the ASA and the PC and should be able to load the software to ASA.
    For example
    interface Management0/0
    nameif management
    security-level 100
    ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
    no shutdown
    and the configure the PC with IP address 10.10.10.100 and mask 255.255.255.0 for example and then load the software from the PCs IP address of 10.10.10.100.

  • Firmware upgrade to 7.6 causes audio jumps

    I've just updated my two Airport express boxes to firmware 7.6.
    Now every few seconds there is a jump or glitch playing audio that sounds like a buffer overflowing causing data loss.
    I've tried unplugging & restarting them both without success. One is hardwired, the other linked by wireless and i'm playing from iTunes 10.5.0.142.
    Has anyone else found this?

    Just a guess, but it would explain the behavior you're describing... After I upgraded to 7.6 I noticed that the router was repeatedly dropping and re-establishing connections.  You can look at the router log by double clicking on your express in the airport utility and selcting Advanced > Logs and Statistics.  If you see a regular pattern of "Disassociated with station..." and "Associated with station..." messages the same thing is happening to you. 
    The only way I found to correct this was to downgrade back to 7.5.2.  You can do this by highlighting your express in the airport utility and select Basestation >  Upload Firmware from the menu bar (upper left side of your screen).  You'll then be prompted for the version of firmware to upload.  Select 7.5.2.

    Could you please explain when you encounter this error code?
    If this occurred when you installing Windows Update, you may try to download it/them from Microsoft Update catalog, and then install them manually.
    If this is happened when you upgrade to the new build, you may consider to do a clean install using the Windows 10 9926 build ISO file.

    Problem:
    the core applications are displayed as down in Enterprise Manager.
    I restarted the core applications in the Enterprise Manager successfully but under the tab Fussion Middleware they are still displayed as not running.
    Does anybody ever had a problem like this. Thank you!

  • Installing Measurement Studio 2010 has caused error PRJ00003 errors in VC Projects

    After installing MS 2010, I tried opening and even creating a basic project from existing code and when compiling, I am now getting the following error:
    error PRJ00003: Error spawning 'rc.exe'
    which seems related to not being able to find kernel32.lib
    Anyone know any insight about this?  I've found lots of other people having this issue and it seems some path or something got messed up.  Just wanted to check to see if anyone else had this happen.
    Some system info
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows has v5.0 folder with Include and Lib\IA64 folders (kernel32.lib is in there) and a v6.0A folder which has an empty bin folder and Bootstrapper with bunches of stuff
    And my MVS folder is such: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0
    And regedit sdk key has CurrentIA64Folder and Version as the two keys pointing to v5.0

    I have a couple of questions about what you are experiencing:
    1. Is this happening  with all projects or do projects not using Measurement Studio functions compile successfully?
    2. I'm assuming you are building Visual C++ projects, but have you tried compiling other projects in Visual Studio?
    3. What version of Visual Studio are you using?
    Also, some things to check:
    1.  Some people who have ahd this problem found that their virus scanner thought rc.exe was an infected file and was isolating it.
    2. Check to see if rc.exe is located in the following:
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\Bin
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\bin

    I've been having some problems with my router resetting so I decided to upgrade the firmware.  I'm currently on version 1.45.3, Jul 1 2003 and I wanted to update to 1.52.02  4/07/2005.  I downloaded befw11s4_v4_v1.52.02_000_FCC_code.bin from Linksys' site and selected it at http://192.168.1.1/Upgrade.htm.  The progress bar will start to move and when it reaches about 75% I'm redirected to http://192.168.1.1/Upgrade.cgi which is a blank white screen .  If I go back to http://192.168.1.1/ and check the firmware version I see 1.45.3 still. Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong?

    So I just went ahead and called the dreaded customer service.....turns out the filename just needs to be changed. There are 3 easy steps to fix this problem.
    1. If its on your desktop the name should appear as BEFW11S4-v4_v1.52.02_fw,0 change it to befw11s4_v4_1.52.02_000_FCC_code.bin
    2. Go to your upgrade firmware screen, click browse to get the file with the new name
    3. Click upgrade and be happy that it worked!!
