Firmware upgrade?? Printing Issues?? HP Designjet Z6100ps

I have a Designjet purchase as a demo in 1/2008. The last firmware upgrade that is currently installed is GG-GG_9.0.0.4. I am having printing issues where it prints about 4" of my prints from Apogee Printdrive (which comes from a windows computer) and then wants a restart with the firmware error code. Prints from the MAC are fine and will go straight thru. I have tried multiple firmware upgrades (the latest is GG-GG_11_00_00-2_mvl40-x86-opt_B.dmg) and it is all invalid. After a week of trial and error and trying different upgrades from different computers I am at my whits end. We print to the this printer presslayouts to look at before plating for press. Printing Banners from the MAC is no problem. Anyone have any suggestions. And of course, warranty and service is nill.

I am linking you to the the Designjet forums below. Please just repost your question their it will have better chance of getting answered.

  • WRT54G V8 firmware upgrade, easylink issue

I was having the typical dropped  connection issues  that these routers seem to be famous for (WRT54G).   The easylink application was installed and working.  I upgraded firmware to the newly released 8.00.4.  After the firmware upgrade the easylink app.  still worked for all functions except for setting wireless security.  For that, any changes had to be input manually through the web based utility or whatever it is called (inputting 162.198.1.1)  in the adress bar.
I had a software conflict and had to uninstall the Easylink advisor software and then reinstall it.  After reinstalling,  the easylink will not recognize the router at all.  Message states something to the effect that the router is either an old Linksys not supported by easylink or another brand.  I know this has to be because the easylink has not been updated to work with the new version of the firmware.
Is there any way to get the Easylink advisor to recognize the router with the new firmware?
Or, is there a link to the previous firmware version so that I can flash the router with the previous version?  Then I could get the easylink to recognize the router again and will only lose security access after I re-flash with the new firmware.
Or, is there anything else I can do to get the easylink advisor software to recognize the Router with the new Firmware installed?
    Thanks

The Easy Link firmware should connects using the new firmware ....
Reset the router for few seconds ,.......After reset disable all firewall & run Easy link tool .....
    It will work .....

  • Firmware upgrade failed, printer now say i has firmware version 0. attention light lights up

    Hey all
I had a problem printing a pdf on my mac, and then tried to upgrade my mac driver and printer firmware.
But the firmware upgrade failed for some unknown reason. And now the printer just have the ready and attentions lights on constantly.
I have tried to restart and reset the printer many times, and tried the HP firmware upgrade utility several times, with no luck. It just say it was "failed to upgrade"
Any idea what to do ??
My printer is a HP Laserjet Pro CP1025nw
    Thanks

    Hello Jan
It definitely sounds like the firmware update failed. Firmware is like a devices Operating System. Without it, it can't do much. This is backed by the "failed" message and that your printer reports it has version 0.
The printer will need to be serviced. Please call HP Phone Support at 1-800-474-6836.

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer - Firmware Upgrade

In her apartment, my elderly mother has an HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer, that I set up for her.
It’s hooked up, via WiFi, to her Router that's attached to her Cable Modem.
She doesn't have her own PC. She has only the printer.
When the printer was first purchased, I brought the printer and my Windows XP laptop to her home and installed the printer there.
I email documents to her printer's HP ePrint email address, and I also print web pages to the printer using Google Cloud Print. I do this from my own home, to send her information from the Internet.
An email was received today, saying the following:
"A free firmware upgrade is required to keep your ePrint and associated Print Apps service working. Please go to www.hp.com/go/eprint, download the newest firmware, and continue using your ePrint solution. If you do not complete the upgrade, your ePrint and Print Apps may not work after Hewlett-Packard has finished a service upgrade on 08/07/2013.
Devices requiring the free firmware upgrade are as follows:
HP LaserJet Pro P1100 Series (model HP LaserJet Pro P1102w)”
Is there any way for me to use my Windows XP laptop, to connect to the printer, remotely over the Internet, via the printer's HP ePrint email address, or via the HP Connected account, or in any other way,
and initiate the printer’s firmware upgrade, without leaving my home?
    Thank you.

  • Firmware upgrade encountered an issue

Right now my Galaxy S3 is sitting at a screen that states "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.  Please use Software Repair Assistant & try again."  Whenever I power on my phone, I get that message.  I've tried to do an Emergency Recovery in both Kies and Kies 3, but neither are able to recover, and the only way, it seems, to get the SRA is to plug my phone into my PC and get it from Autorun.  Since my phone is not leaving the error screen, I don't get the auto run option to install the SRA.  Is there any way to download it manually to get my phone running, or is it pretty much bricked and I'll have to look at replacement options?

I found a solution on the XDA forums site, but thanks anyway.  Looks like I just needed to run the Software Repair Assistant, which I'm a little surprised that the Verizon store I went to didn't have it on hand to attempt to fix my phone.  I got my device repaired, and it's working great.  Just really wish my Wiimotes worked in Android 4.3.

  • RE1000: 1. Firmware upgrade and strange issues. 2. WPS 'on' despite being clearly disabled

    1. WPS shows 'on' in the RE1000's web status page even though it shows disabled in the wireless security page!
    2. The unit seemed to be acting up multiple times ("attempting to connect" or whatever the exact message is) in the middle of both the firmware upgrade to 1.0.01 and the subsequent firmware downgrade to 1.0.00
Luckily it did NOT get bricked!
It also at times would just stop responding or redirect to to the erouter page, despite clearly being in the RE1000 web admin pages and clicking wireless survery links etc.!
    Bizarre!
It may be that it needed rebooting / resetting, but it happened during the first upgrade.
    3. It also said 'authentication / authorization failed' when I attempted to manually connect to my AP in the 'Site Survey' screen. However, when I then go to 'WLAN statistics' it shows Status:  Associated anyway.
    Bizarre!
Has anyone else seen any of this?

What is the make and the model number of your router? The RE1000 is meant to extend the range of an 802.11n network. If attempting to extend the signal for a traditional 802.11g router you will not achieve the desired performance because it is not optimized to extend standard 802.11G signals.
So if you are using n-technology router I suggest you to reconfigure the RE1000..

I am using Linksys's own E4200 which is their current top of the line consumer router (802.11n 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 450 MBps on 5 GHz).
Thanks for the suggestion, but my RE1000 has been configured perfectly since the beginning.
I also do not have WPS enabled (although the one screen says it is while the other setup screen clearly shows it is off) and other than the flashing light (and strange behavior / bugs), it works nicely as far as the actual intended functionality is concerned.
I had the same flashing light issue with my E4200 router, which Cisco finally acknowledged was an issue on their end (which I was convinced all along given how many others had the same exact issue) and which they fixed in the latest E4200 firmware (1.0.03) - see release notes.
I suspect the RE1000 has a similar code defect (bug) that happens under a specific set of circumstances (which explains why not all owners are affected).
Hopefully they will address it soon.

  • Windows upgrade to 8.1 from 8.0 printer issues

I recently upgrade from windows 8.0 to 8.1- I immediately starting having printer issues, with the black white crispness of my printer. I tried to adjust the setting to no avail. I read that sometimes you need to reinstall your printer software, so i tried to uninstall and re-install... no i am unable to bet my printer software to load. I have tried with the disc that came with the pritner and the online options.  I cannot print at all now, and i don't know what to do. I am so frustraited that nothing i try works.  I've looked into tyring to uninstall windows 8.1 but i've found out that it's not easy i'd have to basically reimage my computer to 8.0 and reload everything.
What is your solution HP?  my laptop is an HP 2000-2d27cl Notebook PC
We have another laptop of the same model but has windows 8.0 on it, it  is able to use the printer without any issues.

  • Upgrading printer firmware when already have wireless connection - change connection?

Instructions for almost any device, including HP Pro 8600 printer, is don't do firmware upgrades over wireless connections.  If the printers already set up as wireless, how do you change (easily) to USB or ethernet, do the upgrade, then change back to wireless?
Or no matter what, is it going to be one giant hassle to upgrade firmware, if you set the printer up as wireless?
Firmware aside, I'm starting to regret I ever set it up wirelessly.  More trouble than it's worth.
    Thanks.

It's pretty simple.  Just follow the instructions on how to connect your printer via USB and it will install.  Perform your upgrade.  Once done, disconnect the USB cable and connect wirelessly to your router.  I've done it, takes about 10 minutes.

  • Satellite Pro M10: firmware upgrade issue DVD UJ-830B FW:1.50, HW:1.00

    Hi,
I had tried to replace the old DVD/CDRW with the above UJ-830B ( FW: 1.50, HW: 1.00) but the result was IDE error. It is not recognize it in Windows at all.
I have tried to solder the contact 48 and 49 but result is the same.
How can I make to work this UJ-830B ( FW: 1.50, HW: 1.00) on Toshiba Pro M10?
Is any one have any solution like firmware upgrade or some hardware soldering/desoldering?
    Thanks.
    Regards

This is not possible because such software is not placed or released on any of Toshiba webpage.
Fact is that not all CD/DVD drives are compatible with all notebooks due to different master/slave/c-sel settings.
Therefore its always advisable to contact the ASP in your country or to check the user manual to get the details about combatable drives.
I can recommend only buying an compatible and supported ODD.

  • Zen MX Firmware upgrade issues

I purchased my Zen MX a few weeks ago. It's been fully charged and I've been using it. It works great! I decieded to upgrade the firmware from the existing v .00.09 on the player to the v .02.04 version that's available on the Creative website. I've read and followed the firmware upgrade instructions and all seemed to be going well until I clicked on the upgrade package.
The player goes dark and the window tells me that it can't connect with the device. Then I get a device timeout error message. The it tells me I need to reflash it again. So I click the upgrade button again and the green progress bar starts to move and then stop and I'm prompted again to click the upgrade button again. It's just a vicious circle from there. I did notice that the window where the upgrade button is shows me that the current firmware version on the player is v 00.00.00. This leads me to suspect the the upgrade software is not connecting with player at all. When I click close in the upgrade window the software on the PC closes and the screen on the player comes back to life.
Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!
    BTW I'm running Vista 32

I evetually figured out that it was vista that was preventing the upgrade from happening. So I downloaded the software from an XP machine and transfer the dfiles via a flash dri've. All went well after that. Let me know how you make out.

  • Firmware upgrade crippled cp1025nw

LaserJet CP1025nw color: was working flawlessly
received email from HP 4/3/2012, recommending firmware upgrade to v 20120130.
ran upgrade 4/3/2012 from iMac, OS10.6.8.
    got error: 'update failed'
print queue says 'printing', cp1025nw doesn't respond.
printer lights:  orange triangle enclosed exclamation mark plus green semicircle
This means: fatal error, per the user manual.
manual instructs to turn off, unplug, plug-in, turn on.  I did this several times.
printer lights still indicate: fatal error.
HP utility says: device status: unknown, service ID: unknown, FW version: unknown, driver version 2.0.20110727
tried to print configuration page: got error 'cannot establish two-way communication with the device'

Tried printing from Dell laptop: Latitude E6410 with USB cable: Windows XP professional, 2002, service pack 3.
has routinely printed from this computer previously.
error message in printer queue: 'error - printing',
Dell said 'found new hardware'  tried to install with HP cd-rom
error message said 'the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software'
ran the HP print diagnostic utility HPPDU.exe file from the Dell with USB cable: 'Everything checks out okay with your printer'
print test page: no response from the cp1025nw
    What should I try next?

Since my last post I’ve retried the same troubleshooting described before, this time just from the PC.  The result is still the same.  Lights on the cp1025nw indicate “fatal error”.
Does anyone know how to put this printer into ‘bootcode’ mode?  I’ve read about this in some other posts about HP firmware updates trashing printers.

Is there some combination of button presses that sends the printer into bootcode so it is ready to accept the firmware?

  • HP 5524 Wireless does not work after firmware upgrade

    HI,
I have just purchased an HP5524.  After initial problems setting up the WPA key from the printer screen, I connected via USB, found the printer and swapped to wireless successfuly. I then installed the printer software on all my computers at home successfully over wireless.
The printer then needed a firmware upgrade to support eprint (?), which is successfully connected, downloaded the fireware, installed and went through the boot cycles successfully.
However, ever since wireless will not work.  Before I return it to the retailer as "not fit for purpose" I thought I would ask the forum.  The diagnostics downloaded a tool, which I went through, but this did not offer solutions that I had not already tried.
    Thank you

    Hi,
Thank you for posting you query,
In order to resolve the issue, please make sure the printer is placed closer to the router and uninstall the printer drivers already installed and then start the instalaltion and seelct teh connection type as wireless network. Then select use USB to configure wireless and when prompted conenct the USB cable and then select the network and enter the encryption key follow the onscreen  instructions.
If the issue still persisits, please open the browser and in the address bar enter the IP address of the router and click on GO. This will take you to the router configuration page. On the router page, please click on Wireless Setup  and please make sure SSID Broadcast is enabeld and the Wireless Mode is set to Mixed or 802.11 B/G/N and the Wireless Channel is set to 11 and click on Apply. Then try to connect the printer to the network by using the CD.
