Firmware Ver.1.02.7 Issues

Hi, I have a WRT54G V6.0 and I just updated from Firmware 1.02.6 to 1.02.7 and now I lag horribly on my game which is peer to peer. I would rather just go back to the old firmware but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have it?

Did you reset the router after upgrading the router's firmware as it is advisable...If not then, reset the router for 30 seconds and reconfigure it from scratch...Also reduce the MTU to 1400.

  • Firmware 7.4.1  connectivity  issue.

    Firmware 7.4.1 connectivity issue.
I am not sure what is causing this
In the upper right menu bar of the Finder there is the icon showing the strength of the Airport wireless signal and just to the right of it is information on how long my Airport Extreme Base Station has been active (2d 11:38:41).
I noticed since I applied the most recent firmware update to the Extreme the information displaying the length that my base station has been active will randomly disappear from my screen for a second.
When I am syncing with Apple TV this becomes more constant and this information disappears from the screen about every three seconds.
While this is happening the bars showing my wireless signal remain on the screen. (I have a good signal with all the bars showing).
This is occurring on My Imac.
I get the exact same symptom on my Macbook Pro with Extreme Base Station information temporarily disappearing from the screen. I don’t sync to Apple TV with this computer so the part about Apple TV does not apply.
Does anybody know what is causing this? Also, when that information on how long my Airport Extreme Base Station has been active (2d 11:38:41) disappears from the screen am I temporarily losing network connectivity?

I too experienced grief after installing Apple's "AirPort Base Station Firmware Update 7.4.1".
My home network consists of the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS), a DELL desktop PC (running Windows/XP), my Apple laptop (MacBookPro 15"), and my iPodTouch. The DELL PC is connected via a Ethernet cable into the AEBS. The laptop and iPod connect via wireless with the AEBS.
The DELL PC and Apple laptop were up and running. I installed the firmware update from the DELL PC. It was successful. I worked on both the PC and laptop without any problems. I shutdown both.
The troubles began the next day when I re-booted the PC and laptop. Surprisingly, the PC connected into the network. However, the laptop did not. Repeated "soft" resets of the AEBS failed to resolve the problem. The PC (Airport Utility) software could still talk to the AEBS and reliably displayed it. However, the Apple laptop (Airport Utility) software could not talk to the AEBS (wirelessly). The laptop's Airport (wireless) card appeared to connect into the wireless network but no networking functions worked. The Airport Utility software on the Apple laptop would try but fail to find any AEBS. Sporadically (very infrequently) this software would find it and display its icon but within seconds the it would vanish again.
Another curious symptom was that I noticed the hardcoded IP address for my laptop somehow got changed to a non-sense IP address (I hardcode it and don't rely on DHCP). Another curious symptom was that I noticed that the hardcoded DNS server's IP address was GONE.
After 2+ hours trying to get the new firmware's AEBS to work, I gave up and reverted back to the prior firmware (thank goodness the PC was still talking to the AEBS). After reverting to this earlier firmware, EVERYTHING immediately started working again as far as networking functions.
Does Apple really test this "crap" before they release it?

  • When will firmware ver. 20 for N97 be released for...

It has been a while that firmware ver. 20 is released for N97 all over the world. Less than 24 hours after its release for the first time, it was SUDDENLY removed (by the NOKIA staff) for some product codes such as N97s with FARSI language support (product codes: 0576556 (black), and 0576575 (white)). Till now, after several weeks, there is no sign of coming back! NSU still introduces 12.0.024 as the most up-to-date version!
Most of the N97 owners with different product codes are enjoying the new firmware all over the world, while N97 owners in Iran are still using version 12! It is not fair!!!
Would you please declare the exact time that firmware 20 will be available for such product codes?
***COME ON guys! please do your best to give it out ASAP! I formatted both of the memories of my phone after the release, and since then my phone is full of nothing!

I'm in the same boat as you OM81BA - I'm on Product Code 0576500 - KSA Black, and still I can only get v12, no sign of V20. It was only released on Oct 27th, so not 'several weeks', but it does FEEL like several weeks when it the rest world seems to have it already.
I was in a telephone conversation with MENA Customer Care yesterday, and their suggestion was to take it to a Nokia Repair Centre for the latest FW upgrade.
It's either that, or just keep waiting.......and waiting.........and waiting......... for no news / dates/ firm commitment.

  • I know how to fix the iTunes 7 / firmware ver. 1.2 freeze problem

Many of you (like me) are having major headaches because of the new updates that Apple has been releasing (i.e. iTunes 7). So far I only know that this affects the Video iPod, but this could very well fix other models too.
Here are some symptoms of what the following will fix, and what you most likely have already done to try and fix it.
    - iPod keeps freezing after a few seconds ever since you updated to iTunes 7 and/or iPod software ver. 1.2.
    - iPod will remain in Do Not Disconnect mode even after ejecting or disconnecting
    - A forced reset does not fix it, as it repeats the above.
    - Restoring the iPod through iTunes does not help
    So, here's what to do.
The old iPod updater software is how you will fix all of this. Unfortunately, because iTunes 7 thinks that it's better and more up to date, it will prevent you from opening the old version of the software if you still have it on your machine.
So first of all, uninstall iTunes 7.0. (You do not have to remove your library information, just the software.) Restart the computer.
If you still have the old iPod updater, try it and see if it runs. If it does, read on. If not, skip to the next paragraph. So, if it does run, simply hit Restore and you can go back to a previous version of the firmware. I believe that Apple discontinued the firmware page since releasing iTunes 7. Look around some search engines like Google if you really want the latest firmware.
Take out the installation CD that came with your iPod. Run it and it should install the old iPod updater along with iTunes 6.x. iTunes 6.x cannot run since iTunes 7 changed your libary's formatting, but that will not be a problem. Run the Restore process in the old updater and it should be alright for you to start loading your stuff on again without problems.
Since iTunes 7 reformatted your libary listing, iTunes 6 will no longer work. However, you can still use it by reinstalling iTunes 7. Just make sure you do the following.
TO KEEP THE SAME THING FROM HAPPENING AGAIN
iTunes 7 is actually alright. It's the updater part of it that will screw up your iPod.
    - iTunes 7 will tell you that a new iPod software version is available when you open it.
    - Check the "Never Ask Again" box and click Don't Install.
    - When you sync your iPod to your computer, NEVER touch the Version section when you're changing your iPod's settings. Everything else is alright to work with.
    - Everything will work fine as long as you never update the iPod's software via iTunes, at least until the programmers can fix this issue in a later release or patch.
I hope this helps out a lot of you. Pretty lame of Apple to miss something this big during debugging.
    Custom Windows XP

Listen to this person, he knows exactly what he's talking about. My unit had the freezing problem, the visual artifact problem, and eventually would only show a blank white screen after I had tinkered too long. Luckily I have another computer that I hadn't yet upgraded to itunes 7 and it had the last firmware upgrade before the itunes 7 one. From disk mode I was able to restore it to the previous firmware version, and now the ipod works perfectly.
I too am almost disqusted with Apple for 1) missing this problem and 2) not letting people know!
I wonder how many more people are going to have lots of problems so apple can protect their PR.
Anyways, what would be really helpful would be if someone could upgrade the latest firmware installer before itunes 7 (it's an individual ipod updating program, not itunes 6.xx)somewhere on the internet so users could download it and do away with this evil 1.2 firmware.

  • Firmware upgrade?? Printing Issues?? HP Designjet Z6100ps

I have a Designjet purchase as a demo in 1/2008. The last firmware upgrade that is currently installed is GG-GG_9.0.0.4. I am having printing issues where it prints about 4" of my prints from Apogee Printdrive (which comes from a windows computer) and then wants a restart with the firmware error code. Prints from the MAC are fine and will go straight thru. I have tried multiple firmware upgrades (the latest is GG-GG_11_00_00-2_mvl40-x86-opt_B.dmg) and it is all invalid. After a week of trial and error and trying different upgrades from different computers I am at my whits end. We print to the this printer presslayouts to look at before plating for press. Printing Banners from the MAC is no problem. Anyone have any suggestions. And of course, warranty and service is nill.

  • Nokia 5230 Firmware 20.x.x.x Issues

I am currently in possession of a Nokia 5230 purchased on Jan 2010 loaded with firmware 11.0.079 . I recently came across a slew of articles regarding the restarting defect caused when ugrading to firmware 20.x.x.x .
    (/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Nokia-5230-RESTARTING-DEFECT/m-p/635260)
As of now I have no problems whatsoever in using my phone (except using the mailbox though) and my phone never restarts. Is it advisable for me to upgrade to the new firmware or abstain away from doing so. And as mentioned by other users Nokia Support dosen't seem to be very helpful in this regard.
If anybody has any idea over this issue please advice.

i m currently using 5230 with v20.x.x, (came with v12.x.x) and i never had the "restart defect" on v20.x.x, actually its a lot better/improved then v12.x.x. in many areas.
from my experience, i would recommend you to update to v20.x.x. but decision is yours.

  • EA4500 Firmware Ver: 2.1.38.138880 fails to install

I have tried twice to upgrade my Firmware from Ver: 2.1.38.138827 to Ver: 2.1.38.138880  Both attempts have failed (Let them sit for over 10 Mins with the Flashing Cisco Logo).
To get my router back to a usable state (I found an unbrick thread on another forum via my Phone)
    1. Hold down Reset for 30 Secs
    2. While Holding Reset, unplug the Router.
    3. While still holding the Reset, plug the router back in and hold the reset for an additional 10 secs.
    4. Wait 10 Secs
    5. Press the little blue button.
    6. Wait 60 Seconds, if it doesn't come up (Logo stops flashing) Unplug the router for 30 Secs and power it back up.
After running through all this the firmware seams to be reverted back to Ver: 2.1.38.138827
Has anyone had any luck getting this installed?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. Download the Firmware FW_EA4500_2.1.38.138880.SSA.zip and save it my Download Directory (For me I have a Second HD where I store my files... D:\Downloads\)
    2. Login to the the Router at http://192.168.1.1 via a browser (FYI, I'm using Chrome)
    3. Click the "Connectivity" link on the left hand side
    4. Under "Firmware Update", within the "Manual" block, click the "Choose File" button
    5. Locate the File I downloaded in step 1. For me it is located at "D:\Downloads\FW_EA4500_2.1.38.138880.SSA.zip"
    6. Highlight the file and click the "Open" Button
    7. Click the "Start" button
It runs through an upload process and then says the Router needs to reboot and to press "OK"
    8. Press "OK"
    A "Wait" dialog box appears.
I have let this sit for over 10 Mins and the Cisco Logo on the router continues to just flash.  Eventually the Browser will come up with a page can not be displayed error.

  • SERIOUS BUG with 6700c firmware ver 10.50

I have a 6700c and upgraded the firmware to ver 10.50 with Software Updater
Now the new firmware could not recognise any prefix of the country code
For example, if Bob's number is +44 1234567890
An incoming call 01234567890 will NOT be recognised as Bob
Similarily, if I save Bob as 01234567890, then the incoming call will be recognised
But instead a text message will have problem since they came with +44 1234567890
This make the phone completely UNUSEABLE, and I am yet unable to downgrade
I had an 6300 and it has exactly the same problem after updating to the recent firmware
This is completely outrageous and I demand a FIX or downgrade!!!

  • Wrt54gx firmware Ver.2.00.20 security

    Hello,
I recently updated the firmware on wrt54gx from Ver 2.00.05 to Ver 2.00.20. I followed the firmware dpdating process. The router does not seem to be working if I set the security on. Without securit, our computers are able to identify the network but as soon as I set the security it is not vissible anymore.
Any ideas on what I can do to overcome or fix this.

You have already upgraded the firmware on the router.
After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 10 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
You are able to connect to the unsecured wireless network.
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router. Go to the wireless tab.
Change the SSID to create a new wireless network. Change the wireless channel to 11. Save the settings. Go to wireless security sub tab. Change the security mode to WPA/WPA2. Save  the settings.
Try to connect to new wireless network.

  • N2G not recognizing Firmware Vers

I have upgraded the firmware to get N2G to work. I had it working and went to transfer some files over. I got the error message about:
" You are a Napster To Go subscriber and have connected a device that does not work with Napster To Go (Creative Zen Micro)...."
I have looked in the lower right corner and there is not an upgrade request message in the drag to window and I am running the lastest version.
What am I to do except to reload (causing a format) of all the files that are there?

    JB -
I don't know if you stopped right there (and closed the program) but I have seen this error more than a few times. I think I'm just clicking okay through it, and possibly restarting the application if need be. Comical enough, many users on this board would comment that this might be the most honest statement by both Creative or Napster to date - that the Zen Micro "does not work with Napster To Go" ! (Don't close this Cat, I'm just trying to help this guy out and couldn't resist!)
But, to answer your question, if you have not updated to the 2_0_05 (or whatever it's called) firmware, you need to do this. If you have, I would reboot your PC (with the Micro detached) and launch Napster once again. Then, with the player off (and in a paused state, I recommend!) plug it into the USB cable. Hopefully this will work for you.
This software (of Napster's) is a whole new can of worms, folks. The good news is that we're only seeing the first roll out of it (as the first "paying customers" of software that was released literally less than a month ago). The bad news is that we are just that - paying customers, as opposed to the beta testers that we are really functioning as. There are so many quirks that it's not worth posting them here. The Napster programmers should be embarassed by this, and as long as at least one of them is trying the Micro with their software at home we should see many of these issues "mopped up" with the next release (hopefully soon).

  • Firmware 1.1.1 coverflow issue

I have an issue with coverflow in firmware 1.1.1.
I use my iPhone for podcasts only (TWiT, Rev3, DL.TV, CommandN ect.) The issue is that after Firmware 1.1.1 I can not longer navigate my content via coverflow. This worked perfect in Firmware 1.0.1 and 1.0.2. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hola jdwusami,
Have you reset your iPhone by any chance? If you have not done so, I would reccomend it. A lot of issues such as the one you describe, have been fixed after a quick reset.
Here is some info about some basic troubleshooting:

  • Zen Micro - Firmware vers

How do you check which firmware version is running on the Zen Micro?
I performed a reboot to rescue mode and the screen dispalys v0.0.56. I find it difficult to believe this is the firmware version - then again after all the issues I have with the device in the last 24 hours this probably explains it!
    Neil

Yeah, read lots of nasty posts. By the tone, you'd think this micro was a life-saving device! Don't get me wrong, I get as irritated as the next guy when products are defecti've. And as someone with a techno-tooth, I've had my share. But as an early-adopter, you have to expect some problems with units. If you don't want to run that risk, go with an established product. Maybe this was rushed, and maybe mine will be a dud. But it won't be the end of me!! Haven't dl'd anything yet, that's tonight's task; just listening to the FM which is pretty good so far. Better than my iAudio. This touch pad takes a bit to get used to, but I'm getting the hang of it. Ultimately, as others have said, hopefully Creative customer service takes care of the problems appropriately as this does have a lot of potential. Will post my experience after a few days. . .
    Cheers,
    Dave

  • Firmware 1.1 White Noise Issue

I upgraded to 1.1 from 1.03 and do not have the white noise issue at all. Have 2,000 songs and bunch of videos and about 100 pics. Had 0 problems, iTunes and iPod update all went 100% smooth.
Saw some bad reports, just wanted to let those thinking of upgrading that the problems mentioned do not occur 100% of the time.
I also have no unusual noises and never have had the battery draining problem.
    160Gb Classic

It is totally random, there is no pattern to it. It was the day after I updated to 1.1 before the hissing started on my player. It hasn't happened so far today but it may happen later on tonight. I had no issue with the update and all my music, photos and videos remained intact but the hiss and thumping noise you get when you remove the earphones is a real bummer and a total let-down with this new firmware. Check to see if you get the loud noise when you remove your earphones; if you are you may very well get the hissing. It's certainly happening to the majority.
