I just started a new thread regarding a possible problem with the hold feature and pausing a track. Was that related to your problem?Message Edited by forwarditon0 on 2-06-20070:39 PM

  • How to know firmware version for all devices in a CUCM cluster

    Hello,
We need to know the firmware version used for each one of the devices in a CUCM cluster (version 6.1)
Anybody know if we can get this info for example wit the BAT?
    Thanks and regards,

You typically need to use a 3rd Party application to do this.
There are many that can do basic device information gathering, but if you are looking for a complete endpoint solution that scales to 10,000+ devices you should have a look at PhoneView from UnifiedFX (http://www.unifiedfx.com)

Hi! There is a new firmware version available for my GE 31591GE1 (version 22.37). I'm currently running ver. 14.37 but before upgrading it I wanted to ask if anybody had upgraded to the new version and if there were any noticeable benefits or drawbacks.

Well, my GE 31591GE1 keeps working just fine although still shows that message about available update. Anybody running firmware version 22.3 that would like to comment on this?

    1. The firmware version number for the new Classic.
    2. The file name of the original restore IPSW file for the new Classic.
If I can get those maybe someone can hold Shift then click on the Restore button in iTunes, point to that file, then maybe it will work on an old Classic.

  • Conflicting info on which version needed for G4

First, thanks to all the frequent posters here. I'm very impressed by the knowledge in this forums. I've learned a lot, but still haven't found my solution.
I ordered a processor upgrade for the G4 (Sawtooth). The instructions say to first update the firmware to 4.2.8, if necessary. I'm supposed to check the current version by using Apple System Profiler after booting into OS9. I bought this 'puter used, with 10.2.8 installed, and no OS9 installed. I've never used OS9.
I did get a gray "PowerMac G4 Software Install SSW version 9.0" CD with the purchase. When I tried to boot from that, I get a welcome screen, and when the progress bar gets to about 15%, the process simply stops. (The CD drive has been replaced with a DVD RW, if that might matter.) Now, an Apple article (120068) regarding the firmware upgrade says to use 9.1. But, I just want to boot into 9 to check the current firmware version, not update it (yet). From what I've read here, I thought this machine should be bootable by 9.0. I even ran across an Apple table somewhere here stating the multiple versions of 9 that were permissible for this G4, including 9.0. (I almost suspect that the update has already been done by the previous owner, as he was a savvy user, and did A/V production with it. It's also been working under Tiger flawlessly.)
I also tried dragging a copy of the 9.0 system folder onto my secondary HD, which shows to have the OS9 drivers installed. This was bad news trying to boot this way. A message said it could only boot from the original media (the CD, no?), and it got locked into a loop. Got out by booting with Option pressed, thanks to a tip read here
So, is there another way to check the firmware rev without obtaining 9.1? I visited a site recommended in here for system CDs and found a retail 9.1 offered, but for $160 (yikes!). I really have no need to use 9 in the future, having no software for it, I just need to boot it to check the firmware rev.
    Suggestions? Thanks for your time!!!

    Hi, rotordude -
There is a way to check the firmware version (Boot ROM version) without having to trust the accuracy of the software in OSX or OS 9.
Boot the machine into Open Firmware - restart; immediately press the Command-Option-O-F keys, keep that combo held down. The machine will quickly boot into Open Firmware, which is coded on the logic board, not on any disk.
You will be presented with a text-based screen. On the second line will be this string -
        Apple PowerMac3,1 #.#.#f# Boot ROM
The "PowerMacc3,1" portion will identify it as being a G4 (AGP), aka "Sawtooth", model.
The "#.#.#f# Boot ROM" will have numbers replacing the "#" character - this shows the current firmware version.
For example, on that line in Open Firmware my G4 (AGP) displays
        Apple PowerMac3,1 4.1.8f5 Boot ROM
indicating the firmware version is 4.1.8, which I know to be correct - I have applied the 4.1.8 firmaware update (now no longer available), but not yet the 4.2.8 firmware update (I do not have OSX 10.2 or later on this machine).
To get out of Open firmware, enter exit at the prompt and press Return; or enter boot at the prompt and press Return; or use the force restart button on the front of the Mac (the small raised-face button under the power button, the left-hand one of the two small buttons).
It has been reported by some users that once the firmware on their machine was updated, it would no longer boot to the original OS (non-OSX) version that shipped with the machine. Based upon comments, though, this does not appear to be a universal result of updating firmware.
Take a close look at the "PowerMac G4 Software Install SSW version 9.0" CD that you got with the machine. What is the part number shown in small print on the right-hand side of the label? The diskl that came with my G4 (AGP) shows this info at that location -
        SSW version 9.0.4
        691-2657-A
    - and the CD is titled in large print "PowerMac G4" with a sub-titled "Software Install".

  • What was the last firmware version for the Zen Micro before M

I would like to know what was the last firmware version for the Zen Micro before the MTP firmware?
Please make sure you are 00% on this.
    Thankyou.

I think it does, but I'm not sure; since I wanted MTP, I only used .x firmware long enough to save the original Creative test files (with MediaSource, not ZMME) before upgrading to 2.x. And yes, I had to li've with 2..02's shorter battery life until 2.20.05 came out.
May I ask why you want to go back to .x firmware? The only thing that will get you is the ability to use it with Win98SE/2000/Me--but only if you can install Creative drivers on every PC you use it with. MTP requires WinXP SP or 2 and WMP 0, but doesn't need any Creative software at all to work. (Microsoft has made an MTP driver for Win98SE/2000/Me, but it requires customization and may not be supported by other software. I'm tinkering a bit with the customization part right now.)
There are other pitfalls in changing Micro firmware families, in either direction--you'll lose all the files on your Micro, you'll have to install a different ZMME (and I've heard non-MTP ZMME isn't quite as full-featured as MTP ZMME), and you'll need a new plug-in for MediaSource to work.

  • Had a failed Firmware Upgrade on a Zen??? LOOK INSIDE FOR POSSIBLE

From the Nomadness.net forums: (I had the same problem and user inferno9 at those forums posted this which fixed my issues - hope it helps!)
The problem was that I had formatted the dri've and attempted to reload the firmware, when, BOOM, the firmware updates would not detect the player. I tried all kinds of different strategies, different drivers, different applications, safe mode, etc...until I FINALLY figured it out.
Buried deep within Microsoft's website, I found this link...

Issues updating firmware on Creative ZEN portable devices after installing Windows Media Player
If you have a Creative ZEN device, make sure the device has the latest firmware before you install the beta release of Windows Media Player . To download the latest firmware, go to Creative Worldwide.
If you try to upgrade the firmware on your Creative ZEN after you install the beta release of Windows Media Player , the Creative firmware upgrade software might not recognize your device.
In this case, remove Windows Media Player , update the Creative firmware, and then reinstall Windows Media Player . Creative plans to address this issue in future firmware updates.
For information about removing the beta release of Windows Media Player , see Rolling back to a previous version of the Player.

  • Where to get latest firmware for Zen Xt

I have a 40GB Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra with firmware version .20.08, which recently has been giving me "Firmware Problem" errors. I used to use AutoUpdate to get the latest firmware, but it no longer supports this device. I also don't see it in the list of devices on the suppport site. It's considered "End of Life" so I can't ask email Creative directly about it. What a pain.
I tried the Zen NX (closest thing on the site to a Zen Xtra) driver .0, but when I run it it gives me an error saying "You cannot use this firmware upgrade for your player. Please download a suitable firmware upgrade."
Does anyone know whre I can find the latest firmware Otherwise, I guess it's time to buy an iPod...

You should be aware that there are signifficant changes with upgrading ( or more apropiatly) changing your firmware version from one starting with a point somehting to a two point somehting firmware, and i would only advise you do it if you realy need to ( ie you need it to work on a windows Vista P.C)
there is a .30.somehting firmware for that player somewhere ( i think) that shouldnt be such a huge change.
goign to a 2.something firmware will:
make the Zen Xtra an MTP device that you can drag n drop stuff to, and it will also help intergrate it with other programmes such as widnows media player on p.cs that dont have the drivers ( i think)?
during the update process ( if it doesnt brick your Zen) everything on you hard dik will be completly wiped, all mucis, playlists and anny other files that you have stored on your player.
?As? with all firmware updates you should make sure that the battery is fully charged and the player is conected to the mains charger.
Updating toa ver2.something firmware is only possible on a windopws XP machine, and that XP P.C must be checked to make sure its is free from windows media player and windows media player runtim, you need to go to the control panel and select remove? on WMP then roll it back to windows media player 0, re-boot your XP p.c, then go back to add/remove programmes, remove Windows media player runtime ( roll back to windows media player ) re-boot your p.c then with a bit of luck the firmware will uipdate to the latest version.
In my opinion unless you realy want the Zen to act as an MTP device, and work on windows vista, theres not much to differentiate between the last ver firmware and the last ver2 firmware, read t6he link below ( if it still woks) and you should get an idea of the hassle i had when trying, then failing ( and eventualy suceeding) in updating the firmware on my Zen Xtra.

  • Firmware update for Zen Xtra, a simple quest

    Hello,
I have purchased my zen xtra on July. It works just fine. When i go to "about" in the menu to see the player's version it says .03.02. I don't know if i need to upgrade the firmware because nomad's page for upgrade provides a firmware with same number: Creative NOMAD Zen Xtra firmware update version .03.02
Does it mean i already have the latest firmware version in my player or do i still have to upgrade it's
    Thanks!
    Al

    Alrichi,
If your player already showing the exact same firmware version as with the download then you would already have the same firmware version. You do not need to update again.

  • Firmware Update???? for Zen Touch??

Does anyone know when a new updated firmware version for the Zen Touch will be released? it has has been 9 months...since,are Creative updating versions once a year I am told,by an insider?.Message Edited by cus07 on 07-3-2005 06:45 AMMessage Edited by cus07 on 07-3-2005 06:54 AMMessage Edited by cus07 on 07-3-2005 07:54 AMMessage Edited by cus07 on 07-3-2005 07:55 AM

I have looked pretty much everywhere to get some idea. I have seen it discussed, but with no real answer. It would be really nice ( respectfully) to know just ... IF... it was coming. Either way. And then a ball park.
This is a really nice unit , but I want one Audible ready that is EXACTLY like the Touch. If I just knew if it was coming, I would be free to buy another elsewhere. I totally love the Zen Nano Plus line and will just have to settle with those. I mainly use Audible, and Old Time Radio etc, Art Bell streams etc.
Oh well....moderator go out on a limb!
    Thanks

  • Thank you David ... for links to previous firmware versions

Thank you david for posting the links to previous firmware versions.  I posted a thread about the WRT54G (V8) and Easylink Advisor not recognizing this router after firmware upgrade.  The timing of your post is excellent.
Just for some more info for WRT54G V8 users.  I had the Easylink Advisor working before firmware update.  After firmware update it still recognized router but NOT to set up new security settings.  Everything was working and dropped connectivity issues seemed to be resolved so I was happy enough.  But I had a conflict I thought was related to the Easylink advisor intsall (it was).  So, I uninstalled and reinstalled.  Easylink would not recognize the router at all afterward.
I think that rolling back to previous version firmware, then going through set up of Easylink advisor should restore functionality to the app. (except for security changes) but I havent tried it yet.
I need the new firmware to keep from dropping internet connection.  So, I am hoping that I will only lose access to security changes through Easylink advisor when re-flashing with the new firmware again.  We'll see.
I assume Linksys will upgate the Easylink Advisor in the near future so that it will recognize the WRT54G V8 router with latest firmware 8.00.4?
Thanks again David and good luck, all.

Yes, that was good news for V:M users but when are Creative going to release new firmware for the Zen Nano Plus and the Muvo players so that it contains FM Recording again?Could the Mods try and find out, please??PBMessage Edited by PeeBee on 2-09-20060:48 AM

  • What is the current AE firmware version for MacBook Pro 2Ghz Core Duo?

My losing connection every so often MPB shows:
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x168C, 0x86)
    Wireless Card Locale: USA
    Wireless Card Firmware Version: 0.1.27

Good question. They basically said I needed to send it in for repair. Afterward I brought up the version and was told it would be up to date if Software Update was completed. I mentioned the difference between the version on my iMac and the MPB and was told that perhaps the MPB AE is defective and not updating. I am just curious to know what others have.

  • Finding firmware version for HBA card

Does anybody knows a command in solaris 9 to display firmware version for HBA cards or other pci cards currently in system

I've not heard of a way of reading add-on card firmware levels from the OBP...
However, you might be lucky insofar that the firmware levels get displayed at boot time. Emulex cards always do this as one of the very first things that pass on the screen after powering up.
