First Annoyance with CS4

Just upgraded last week, after a job came in in CS4. Overall, I'm pretty happy but the first annoying change has just reared its head.
Previously, if you had a font that did not allow embedding in a pdf, Ai warned you when you saved with pdf compatibilty on and saved the file.
Now, Ai will not save the file with pdf compatibility (in any version).
Not the end of the world, but it does screw up proofing the files out through InDesign.
The font in question, by the way, is the Chinese face STSong that comes with the OS.
Yours
Vern

Vern that simply is not the case here are screen shots. It is hard and sometimes difficult to see that there could be another issue and you have some kind of corruption heck out the screen shots:

  • Still weird problems with CS4/My new computer

Here is situation. Machine works very well when I´m editing HD video but soon as I start edit multi-cam: PROBLEMS! And as I watch from monitor that materia that I been edited so far, it works well, but as soon as I try to change cameras, everything slows-down. Like there is too little memory or something. Could the problem be somewhere in that CS4 program? Because I watch same time those CPU/Memory values and they don´t go very hight. CPU about max. 40% and Memory max 4Gb. And basicly: Is thia computer powerfull enough for Creative Suite CS4
My graphics card is, ATI Radeon HD 4870. I have update my bios and  Radeon should be 64bit with latest drivers.
I have ran PassMark Performance test again and again. 2D results are mysterious low and also  disk results ( sequenta write/random seek).
    Everydays I got bluescreens (Bad_Pool-Header, Bad-Pool_Caller etc.)
Also I´ve notised that in that computer shop they connect those Hard-drives in in SAT 3 and 4. Should they be connected in 1 & 2?
Also my "first" hard-drive (C:) shoud be very fast, 10 000rpm but in that performance test, and also in Windows hard-drive test results shows, that information does not move as fast as it should be?
Hard-drive is 300 GB ATA II VelociRaptor drive model FS WD3000HLFS
( http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2503 ). Is that hard-drive appropriate for Windows 7 or vise versa?
Or could that problem be in my memory chips?
In here I ad my DxDiag-file. I wonder why there said that in displey devices: Current Mode: 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) (59Hz) ?? Should it be 645Bit be cause displaycard is 64bit ???

    Thanks for tips!
We may have to clear up the hole computer. I have quite a lot videomaterial in hard-drive D, waiting for edit. In C there are basic brograms, Corel X4 and some players. Nothing bigger. Still, before that, now that "normal" HD editing is working quite well,  I wonder:
Are CPU about  40% and Memory 4Gb values normal when I´m editing with CS4?
Is my computer actual powerfull enough for Creative Suite CS4?
Why in Earth are those 2D values so lame?
Hard-drives are connected in SAT 3 and 4. Should they be connected in 1 & 2?
First hard-drive (C:) shoud be very fast, 10 000rpm but in that performance test, and also in Windows hard-drive test results shows, why?
Could problem be in my memory chips?
    And:
In DxDiag-file, why there said that in display devices: Current Mode: 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) (59Hz) ?? Should it be 64Bit be cause displaycard is 64Bit??
So many questions and so many possibilities...
Thank you very much and sorry all my weird question but I´m about to explode becauise of this stupid machine!!! Arg!
Sometimes I think that it would be better live in stoneage...

  • Recently upgraded to a Canon Mark 3 and now having issues with my RAW files in Bridge and Photoshop. I am operating with CS4. Photoshop produces an error " Could not complete your request because photoshop does not recognize this type of file"

Recently upgraded to a Canon Mark 3 and now having issues with my RAW files in Bridge and Photoshop. I have operating with CS4. Photoshop produces and error " Could not complete your request because photoshop does not recognize this type of file"

Assuming you mean 5D Mark III, Photoshop CS4 cannot directly open raw files from your camera.
Generally speaking, Adobe stopped updating older versions to be able to read raw files from newer cameras when they released a new major version of Photoshop. Photoshop CS4 is no longer receiving Camera Raw updates.
You can double check this yourself:
First you need to determine whether Adobe has released support for your new camera in your version of Photoshop. To do that, look at these two pages. You'll want to find out the earliest version of Camera Raw that can support your camera, then what version of Photoshop can run that version of Camera Raw.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
If you find your camera is supported by your version of Photoshop, you need to download the latest update for Camera Raw. There's more information on how to do that here:
    Keeping Photoshop Up-To-Date
If your version of Photoshop cannot support your camera, you can download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter, which can take your raw files as input and put out DNG format files, which your version of Photoshop can open.
Photoshop Help | Digital Negative (DNG)
The DNG converter DOES work, but if you want maximal quality from your raw files (not to mention the convenience and ease of use of directly opening your raw files) you'll want the latest version of Photoshop. Adobe has made substantial improvements in raw conversion quality in recent years.

  • Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its Encore

My project is edited in CS4.
I moved it to Encore CS4.
I don't want to use any of the supplied menu templates in CS4 Encore.
I was hoping CS4 would be all I needed to create custom menus using scenes from my project.
My question is: Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its built in Encore or do I need some other element from the Adobe catalog to make these custom chapter menus and sub-menus?
    Thanks Jim

OK, I'm back. Here are my steps for creating Custom Menus with PS, En and PrPro:
In PrPro, move the CTI (Current Time Indicator) to the desired Frame. Check Frames on either side, with the Program Monitor’s Magnification to 100%, or maybe even 200% (you’ll need to scroll, but get a really clear picture). You want the clearest Frame in that area. With AME, in CS4, you’ll want to Export that Frame as .TIFF, or .BMP. I use .TIFF for this.
Now, for a caveat. When you Import this Exported Frame into Photoshop, be sure to check the specs., especially the PAR. You may have to use Image>PAR to adjust this to match your Project’s specs. Or, all might be perfect - just check this out.
Now, at this point, I choose the Library Menu, Blank, so that everything is setup. One can create the Menu from scratch, but careful attention needs to be paid to the exact naming conventions. At the very least, unless you’ve done this dozens of times before, use that Blank Menu, or similar as a guide, so you get things done, as they must be done.
Using that Blank Menu, just drag the Layer from your Exported Frame to your Menu image. It will appear above the black Background.
Add, or manipulate your Button Layer Sets, as is required, keeping them together. Remember that Button #1 will be the Button Layer Set, that is lower down in the Layers Palette. This can play a roll with Button Routing, back in Encore. Lower Button Layer Sets will have lower Button numbers.
Now, I always rename my Button Layer Sets, keeping the required characters - just changing the name. I also do all of my Button text in PS, and make sure to turn OFF Sync Button Names.
When done, Save_As .PSD, and then Import_As_Menu into Encore. Note: if you start with the Blank Menu, you can choose Edit in Photoshop, and then when done in PS, you just need to Save, and it will update in Encore. This is a personal workflow choice. I do the Edit in Photoshop route, but it is not necessary. One just needs to Import the resulting .PSD into Encore with Import_As_Menu, so that Encore does all the things that it needs to and recognizes the .PSD as a Menu.
When deciding what to base your Menu on, remember that you can "populate" your Menu with Buttons from the Functional Content. I’d suggest studying these Assets, and picking the ones that work best for you. You can still alter/edit those back in PS, so you just need to "get close."
Pay special attention to the required naming conventions. You cannot deviate from those first characters in the Button Layer Sets. They MUST be followed.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Matrox RTX-2 with CS4

Has anyone had experience with CS4 in combination with Matrox RTX-2 card?
I have recently upgraded from PPro2, and found I never really used my RTX-2 for any of my client's projects in 2.0
because I needed cross-platform compatibility with systems not equipped to support the Matrox encoded media.
If there is no significant advantage I would be inclined to remove the giant card from my system,
improve airflow, and put it up for sale on EBay.
    thanks

We have 3 systems with RTx2 cards. I actually have been a beta tester for them from the old RTx100 days. In fact, I tested one of the first X2 boards before they were released. The RTx2 card is still a viable product to use with CS4. Matrox just released updated drivers that add Windows 7 support. If I were you, I would at least try a few projects with the Matrox card and the latest drivers. On our quad core system, captured native HDV mpeg2 files won't play back smoothly for a 4 camera multi-cam. Drop those same multicam clips in a Matrox project and they play back super smooth.
For me, the RTx2 has been invaluable. We have done hundreds of projects on our RTx2 machines and for the most part, our systems are pretty stable. I am building a new system to replace the original computer I built for the RTx2. It was an older AMD dual core, and the new one will run Win 7 with an I7 proc and 24 gigs of ram with the ASUS supercomputer motherboard.
Another thing to keep in mind is that even though Adobe plans on accelerating the next version of Premiere with the Nvidia CUDA graphics cards, you have to purchase the $1500 card to get some of the same real-time playback that the RTx2 offers. Granted, the Nvidia card will allow better playback of AVCHD, DSLR files and Red files, but the RTx2 came out before those formats became more of a standard. I think you will still see a need for the RTx2 as a good capture and output card going forward. Accelerated exports and real-time filters are an added bonus. Plus, with the ability to add a compressed HD card, you can export to blu-ray with lightning speed.

  • Replacing text on a picture with CS4

I have recently taken a (jpg) picture of a real estate sign and I have been asked to replace the agent's first name with another first name. Can this be done with CS4? How? Thanks in advance. HK

It can be done with any version of Photoshop.
Sample the background color of the sign behind/around the text you're replacing, then use that color to paint over the text. Then type the new text and size/skew it to fit the space on the sign.

  • Addt with cs4

I have addt 1.0.0 for CS3, is it possible to use this in CS4?  I cant find anyway to upgrade it although this site says there is an upgrade.  When i try to load this with CS4, it tells me i need CS3.  I have a new machine and bought a new copy of CS4.  Do i have to load CS3 first and then upgrade to CS4?

ADDT version 1.0.1 will run with Dreamweaver CS4 as well and can be downloaded from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/addt/downloads_updaters.html

  • Faces issue when selecting 'edit with CS4' (or any other external editor)

Ok, so I have a work flow where I effectively use Nik Plugins. I have the complete set so that i can use them in Aperture and CS4. I correct exposure and white balance and crop in Aperture but then have automators set up in CS4 to apply Nik plugin effects via a batch change process ie no manual adjustments needed, start the batch and come back 20 mins later. Anyway thats somewhat irrelevant....
Once stage one is done in Aperture I select faces and see that all looks fine. Suggestions appear over faces etc as you'd expect. BUT if I then select edit with CS4 (via right click) on that image it creates a duplicate image (as its non-destructive) and opens it in CS4. Fine. But if you go in to Aperture the faces on this duplicate image are now all messed up. They are not at all over peoples faces but seemingly in random places. Right click and selecting detect faces does nothing. So in summary if I edit anything with CS4 and hit save so that the changes appear in Aperture then hit faces to tag people I have to effectively start from scratch and delete all the faces (not over peoples faces) and add new faces.
The best way to illustrate this is with screenshots. See this link for 2 screenshots of the issue. http://adamlewis.zenfolio.com/screenshot
Can someone else confirm they have this issue at all first off to see if it is a specific issue to myself or a generic Aperture issue?
After that I guess we can proceed with troubleshooting and solutions.
PS I have repaired my library and rebuilt it and have upgraded Aperture to the latest 3.2.2 (released today / yesterday but note the issue was found under 3.2.1 so its not a 3.2.2 specific issue).

Maybe I should have made it clearer in my original post. The 1st paragraph was just for colour. The fact of using Nik has nothing to do with the issue. The below quote is the issue:
"Suggestions appear over faces etc as you'd expect. BUT if I then select edit with CS4 (via right click) on that image it creates a duplicate image (as its non-destructive) and opens it in CS4. Fine. But if you go in to Aperture the faces on this duplicate image are now all messed up. They are not at all over peoples faces but seemingly in random places."
Thus the issue is generated by merely selecting Edit with CS4. ie no editing done in CS4 and not even saved in CS4. Just selecting edit with CS4 in Aperture creates the duplicate image in Aperture (and sends it to CS4 but lets assume we do nothing with it there at all) but creates a duplicate with face tags in the wrong places.
After further investigation I changed my external editing software option in preferences to Pixelmator and the same issue occurs.
So to replicate the issue in my place there are 2 simple steps that I need to make (and would like tested by someone else):
    1. Tag some peoples faces in an Aperture image
    2. Select edit with (any external editor)
Then go back in to Aperture (immediately) and select faces on the duplicate image created and see if the faces are in the correct position.
Note I have my external editor set to TIFF 8 Bit 300dpi using Adobe RGB colour space.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Need help with CS4 transitions

    Hi,
I am trying to use a cross dissolve transition. To make it simple, I have two clips. I'm obviously doing something wrong here. I've watched the Adobe TV tutorial and all the guy does is to select cross dissolve from the effects box, and drags it over to the clip on the timeline. I think I am doing the exact same thing, but when I play my clip back, I can see no transition effect played back.
Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong place I thought, so I tried putting it in front of the split between the two clips. Then again at the beginning of the second clip. Neither of them worked, so I shut CS4 down, and booted it up again. I started a new project, and put two new clips in it. I put the dissolve transition at the beginning of the second clip, and it worked like a charm. Then to see if that was a fluke, went to a point about 3 minutes earlier in the timeline. So now I am on clip one. I go and make a cut in the timeline, and try to place another Cross dissolve at this spot. It appears to place the transition there because it creates the rectangular box, and it has the name cross dissolve in that rectangular box,but when I try to play it to see the transition, it isn't working. Go back to the beginning of the second clip, and that one still works perfectly.
I noticed that there is a difference in the appearance of the two cross dissolve rectangular boxes. The one that works has a single diagonal line that goes from lower left to upper right in the cross dissolve box, and then there are a whole series of diagonal lines that go from upper left to lower right all across the cross dissolve box . It looks like a whole bunch of dark gray and white backslashes. In the one that doesn't work, there is just that single diagonal line that goes from lower left to upper right. No backslashes on this one. What am I doing right in the first one, but not in the second?
I find that it will work perfectly if I put in a new clip. If I put in the Cross Dissolve at the beginning of a new clip that I add to the timelime,  it will work perfectly. It is only when I try to split a clip that is already on the timeline, and then put the cross dissolve in at that point.
Perhaps it is not possible to do what I am attempting to do. Maybe you can't split a clip and place the transition at that point?

When I am shooting video, it is not unusual for me to be taping a scene of a mountain, for example, and then put the camera on pause, while I briefly position myself to take video of the river that is flowing at my feet. That is what is happened on this clip that I am attempting to put the transition in between. Rather than having the scene just instantly change at this point, from the mountain to the river, it would be nice to have a smoother transition then that.
My mind was working on the problem while sleeping last night, and I think I might understand how to handle it. It might have been too simple for me to think about yesterday. I haven't tried it yet, but would it not work, to insert the mountain scene from my source monitor into the timeline, and then go back and insert the river scene into the time line instead of inserting both of them at the same time. Would these not now be two separate clips on the timeline, and the transition could now be applied?
Your analogy with the DJ is very good, but it isn't quite the same. You are correct in that he would be only fading from one song to the same spot on the same song. In my case I am going from an image of a mountain to an image of a river. Same clip, but different images. I appreciate the help, and your thoughts.

From a creative standpoiint, I don't understand the desire to transition from one clip to the exact same spot on that same clip.  That's like a DJ at a night club fading from one song to the exact same spot on that same song being played on a second CD player.  What's the point?

  • Several problems with CS4 Bridge

I select all images, and go to image processor to make web-size images.  Nothing happens.
I process one image in Camera Raw, hit Open, nothing happens.
Bridge has been crashing almost daily, prior to these problems.
Now, any image I process in raw, opens in Raw dialogue, and I can't open. So, once I process, I can't open it!

    OS 10.6.8,  Bridge 3.0.0.464,  Memory 4GB 1067MHz DDR3
Don't have CS4 installed anymore but it looks to me you have the latest updated version. (can you also check the Output Module and see if you have the option for Header and Footer, if not you could also use the Adobe Output Module to update and see if that helps.)
In general restarting Bridge holding down option key and refresh prefs solves many problems. You can also quit Bridge, go to the user library in your user account and from user/library/ caches/Adobe/BridgeCS4 delete both cache file and plug in. (it refreshes itself after restarting Bridge with a new empty one and you will have to recache which can take some time)
Then from same user library go to application support/Adobe/BridgeCS4/Workspaces and in here delete the file called: !!LastMenu.workspace
Finally from same user library preferences folder find and delete the Bridge plist file (com.adobe.bridge3.plist) It is version 3 for Bridge that came with CS4 so this the one you must delete.
Then use Apple Disk utility (or Cocktail or other maintenance software) and check and repair your disk permissions. After this restart Bridge Holding down option key again and again choose reset preferences.
For image processor problems you also might want to reset the preferences for PS but first try the above method for a start.

  • Serious problem with CS4. Hard to describe...

I just got the CS4 upgrade. I have a zillion sites that
worked fine in CS3 and before. When I work on, save, and upload
pages on these sites now, I first get an error about there being a
duplicate Head area on the page, and then when I upload it, I get
    this:
    http://www.schaefergreenhouses.com/online-flowers/WW-202.html
Here's what the top is supposed to look like:
    http://www.schaefergreenhouses.com/online-flowers/WW-303.html
See all the garbage at the top? What is that? I can't tell.
This has something I'm assuming to do with Templates, I don't
know. Last night I spent the whole night re-building pages to fix
this. I had to take the existing page, open a new one based on the
same template, copy/paste over the info, and re-save to get it to
    work again.
I have 4 sites that are setup the exact same way for this
client, and I went in to another site, opened a page, re-assigned
the template (I had the wrong one on that page), and when uploaded,
back came the gibberish. So, something has changed in CS4 that is
going to cause me some serious headaches.
There is an Advanced Open Window extension on the pages, of
which I made sure was the current version. There is nothing else
weird, except a simple SSI include for the top bar. Which is now
gone, so is that the issue?
I'm clueless, and I just can't believe I have to literally
spend the next 2 days re-building pages on this other site (which
is 4 times the size), plus all the others, plus possibly all my
other sites! I do not want to have to keep CS3, that is idiotic.
Any ideas? Since it's at the top, and I can't see the SSI
    thing, is that it?

Look at the source code generate, you will see this after a
    load of
    javascript:
    </script><!-- InstanceEndEditable
    --></head><!-- InstanceEnd --></html>
The closing html tag should only be at the end of the page.
Then you have some javascript that has &lt;!-- instead of
    <!-- and the
same with its closing //--&gt; which should eb //-->
Then you have yet another opening html tag, and another
    opening head tag.
A little but further down down you have your google analytics
    code after
the closing head tag, it should be before that really.
All these problems are nothing to do with CS4. If you are
    using SSI's
then make sure there is no opening and closing head or html
    tags.

  • Installed CS6 trial but still want to open with CS4

I recently installed InDesign CS6 (Windows) as a trial, but I still want InDesign CS4 to be the default for opening documents. However, when I go to the Open As menu, ID CS4 does not appear. When I browse through Program Files and select C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\InDesign.exe, it points me to ID CS6. Which is incredibly annoying, since the program I selected was Definitely not CS6.
So is there a way to force Windows to associate indd files with CS4 instead of CS6 without uninstalling the trial?

You can edit the registry manually (there are directions in some other threads here, if you search), but that will cause trouble when you start working in CS6 since all of the new files will open with "Missing Plugin" errors that cannot be resolved since CS4 can't open files from anything newer.
I open the correct application first, then use File > Open... instead of trying to use a double-click, but you can purchase the Soxy plugin from Rorohiko.com which will intercept the open commands and automatically use the version from which the file was saved if it is installed.

  • Firewire scratch disk with CS4/ 10.6.4

I'm currently using CS4 in an '07 iMac and trying to use a Newertech Ministack external drive as a dedicated scratch disk. The external drive has been erased and freshly formatted as Extended Journaled, with no OS or any other apps. This was a method(recommneded at the time) I used successsfully with a MBP running 10.5 and a LaCie external drive.
Now, when I try and designate the external as the no. 1 drive on the list in Performance Preferences, it keeps reverting back to the internal drive as #1 after restarting PS. I move the external to the first position on the list and check the Active box. The internal drive is at 2 and the Active box unchecked. When I quit PS and start it up again, the internal is back at the first position with Active checked and the external at 2 and unchecked.
Any way to make it stick?
    Any insight  greatly appreciated.
    '07 iMac 20"/ 10.6.2/ PS CS4 11.0.1/ Ministack V2 via firewire.

    Thanks for replying.
Have been doing service on a bunch of machines lately, so the journaling was done on auto pilot. Have gone back and reformatted the drive as extended.
Trashed the prefs via the 'Command/shift/option' method with no change. What's funny is that there is no " Adobe Photoshop CS Settings" folder in the Preferences folder in Library. So can't drag it to the trash.
    So back to square one.

  • Page Item Observer problems with CS4

I have an observer that observes IID_ITRANSFORM_DOCUMENT and IID_IGEOMETRY_DOCUMENT to determine when a text frame has been moved, rotated, scaled, or whatever.
In CS3, I could call ITextColumnSizer::GetFixedWidth() and get the new width of the column in the frame. (I only care about single-column text frames.)
In CS4, the following case gives me a problem: If I stretch the frame using the "black arrow" selection tool, GetFixedWidth() will return the old column width instead of the new one.
In CS4, the observer gets notified three times (ignoring the times when the command state is ICommand::kNotDone): the first time with IID_ITRANSFORM_DOCUMENT and kTransformChangedMessage, the second and third time with IID_IGEOMETRY_DOCUMENT and kBoundsChangedMessage. The first two notifications are on the kSplineItemBoss -- I don't know what the third one is for. When I call GetFixedWidth(), I get the old width.
In CS3, I get three notifications with IID_IGEOMETRY_DOCUMENT and kBoundsChangedMessage. The last two notifications are on the kSplineItemBoss -- I don't know what the first one is for. When I call GetFixedWidth(), I get the new width.
Can anyone tell me what's going on, or what I need to change to get the new width in CS4? Thanks.

  • Color Problems with CS4 Upgrade

I recently upgraded to CS4 and have been experiencing the following problem. When I open an image from ACR to PS CS4 it looks absolutely nothing like it did in ACR. If I was to describe it, it would be that the image has an overall red tint when viewed in CS4. If I then save this image as a PSD file, and then open it in PS CS3 it matches the CS4 ACR image. So, what have I got set wrong in PS CS4 (which is still all of the default settings)?

I've used dual monitors for many years. I see absolutely no change when moving any image from one monitor to another in Photoshop 7.0.1 through 11 (CS4). Photoshop is smart enough to read the profile for each monitor on the fly.
HI> Although I'm new to the Mac platform, that has been my experience also.
Even when I place half of the image in one monitor and the other half in the other one, Photoshop uses the correct monitor for each respective half of the image.
HI> I agree, for CS3 and Lightroom that is how it works for me too.
My response to Ray's question ("Where does photoshop assign a primary monitor?") has absolutely nothing to do with monitor profiles, only with which monitor will be the primary monitor, i.e. the one that hosts the menu bar with the Apple menu.
That is what you can change in the Display Preferences > Arrangement (Mac System Preferences).
HI> Correct and I agree. But I believe Ray had that setup correctly to begin with, unless I did not understand him.
The one thing that did change in CS4 is that image files now will always open on the primary monitor. In previous versions of Photoshop, you could just move an image to the secondary monitor, close it, and it or the next image would open on your secondary monitor too. That is not possible in CS4, at least in the current version.
    HI> My observation as well.
However, the monitor profile used on each monitor respectively remains the correct one as set in Display Preferences > Color.
Photoshop knows how to apply each monitor profile to each monitor, unless the user has messed that up in Display Preferences > Color.
HI> As stated, CS3 and Lightroom do apply colors correctly. CS4 does not.
In Edit > Color Settings, you should be set to the Adobe Color Engine (ACE), not to Color Sync.
HI> All my observations with CS4 have used ACE. I was getting frustrated and the ColorSync thing was an experiment to see if anything changed.
In my experience, the Apple CMM, Color Sync, has been unreliable for a long time. I just avoid it. (There are other legitimate uses for the ColorSync Utility, such as repairing profiles [Profile First Aid], visualizing and comparing their gamuts, etc.)
If both monitors are accurately calibrated and profiled, and if the appropriate monitor profiles are selected for each monitor separately in Display Preferences > Color, Photoshop will use them correctly on each monitor, in my experience.
HI> CS4 does not seem to work the same way. In fact, if you bring up the images in Bridge CS4 on my setup, the filmstrip version of the image will have the proper color profile (when I move it back and forth from one monitor to the other) and the selected preview image will not! I believe this is a bug in CS4! CS4 should apply the same color profile to each image in Bridge regardless of which monitor I move the window to.
Something is going wrong in Ray's setup, but there are not enough details to tell what. Screen shots of all the settings would be helpful.
HI> I'm not sure how your monitors are setup. Perhaps you have two monitors that are nearly the same and therefore your color profiles are close enough to not see the difference that Ray and I see. My monitors are setup correctly and I believe that Ray's are too.
Even the cheapest calibrator puck will produce a more accurate profile than can be achieved through Apple's built-in or any other eyeball calibrator like SuperCal.
HI> I use Graytag McBeth. However, even if I did not use any calibration, I should see the same results in the same window for Bridge CS4, regardless of how far the profiles were off! Comparing that with CS3 and Lightroom makes me believe that this is a software bug in CS4 not a setup issue.
