Hello,
I did my first back up (Time Machine) with TC, si it would be faster as recommended,
now wireless won't recognize TC as a disk for Time Machine
??

I had the same reaction. I fussed and looked and fussed some more then the backup/TC was recognized.
This machine/setup/procedure is Very confusing and/or faulty.

If your using the same cable for your wall charger as you are for your computer, than the problem is probably within the cable (if there isn't visible damage to the cable of coarse). The quockest solution would be to buy your self a new cable. There is probably nothing wrong with your wall adapter, so just the cable will do.

Do not setup a TC over wireless.. it is like sitting on the branch you are sawing off.
Plug it into the computer by ethernet.. press and hold the reset until the front LED flashes rapidly and start over.

  • IPod full but now won't recognize any files; how to fix without "restore"?

My iPod mini suddenly won't recognize any of my files or extensive playlists. I just uploaded several songs to it, and when I disconnected and tried to play it, it suddenly showed as completely empty, like I'd deleted everything. I plugged it back in, and while nothing shows up in iTunes with - no songs, no playlists - it says it's still nearly full.
Reading another thread, I found the files on the iPod through My Computer. So they are still there, but for whatever reason the iPod, literally suddenly, can't recognize them as present. How do I fic this WITHOUT having to restore the iPod and then re-add those files (and recreate all of my playlists?)
    Please, please help!

  • OS X 10.6.8 was playing DVD now won't recognize store bought discs.  Normal Discs no HD and the same discs work on imac.  Any thoughts?  Is there a patch or a way to reload possibly or a system utility that I can run?  Thanks anyone

I don't know what changed but it just won't recognize a disc any more.  The DVD player itself seems to open up, but the disc just spins in the case and after 20 seconds it spit it back out like nothing ever happened.  The same disc plays fine on the imac.

  • IPhoto upgraded Library but now won't recognize photos (they're still there but in "Old" folders)

After I started up iPhoto this week, it gave me the "your library needs to be upgraded" message.  I let it do that, then it said it needed to update thumbnails and I let it do that.  Then it opened my library but there are no photos - I get the standard startup message as if this was my first time opening iPhoto.
My library file still shows a size of almost 300GB, and I can go through the package contents to find my photos, but they won't show up in the application.  After the upgrade, they're now listed in folders named "Old Masters", "Old Thumbnails", etc., and there are replacement folders in their place (named the same but without the "Old" in the title).  These new folders are empty.
It seems like I should just be able to delete "old" from the original folders' names and let them take the place of the new versions, but I don't want to do anything that will cause even more problems!  Any thoughts?
FYI: I'm on a new late 2014 Mac Mini (3 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16 GB memory) running Yosemite 10.10.2.  My iPhoto library is stored on an external hard drive which is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - it's the same drive I've used for a long time.
    Thanks for your help!

This has been affecting some folks for the past while. Having the Library on an external seems to be part of the issue.

  • Upgraded RAM but now won't recognize

I just bought a 1GB kit from RAMJET (2x 512mb) and installed the new DIMM's inside my mac. Now when I plugged everything back in and rebooted, the computer is not recognizing the new memory. When I go to "About This Mac" the system profile says there is nothing in the two slots where I put the new RAM. Before upgrading I had 1GB of factory installed RAM (2x512mb).
My system says I have 8 slots (J11 through J44) and that I have "DDR SDRAM with a speed of PC3200U-30330." I purchased 1gig DDR400 128bit. These are the same right?
I read the instruction manual and did everything by the book before opening the case. Is there something extra I should be doing to make this work?

I adding 3 gig of RAM on my SP 1.8. I had all sorts of issues after the first 6 months. Apple blamed the RAM upgrade. I had the vendor replace it and now 2 of new simms are fine, but 2 simms will not be recognized no matter where I put them. All 4 of th enew simms are the exact same thing. Any suggestions or tests I can do before I call the vendor again?

  • Updated to 1.14 ... now won't recognize

I've had 1.13 since I got the touch last year, The past week it's been screwing up so i figured maybe I should update to 1.14. I updated my ipod and then when it said it was all done itunes wouldnt recognize it. So i updated to the latest version of itunes but still nothing. I've restarted the ipod, and my computer, but still nothing. Also, everything on my ipod was deleted, is this normal for an update? How do I get itunes to recognize the ipod? Thanks

Try putting it into forced recovery mode. Turn the iPod off (Slide to power off). Connect the appropriate end of the USB cable to the computer. Press and hold the Home button for a few seconds and then, while you're holding the button down, connect the USB cable to the iPod. If this goes as planned, iTunes may take a few seconds to recognize the iPod and then it will prompt you to restore it. I advise not restoring from backup.

  • Ipod battery change now won't recognize

I changed my battery in my Ipod Nano 3rd gen. It still won't turn on, but iTunes now says "The iPod software update server coult not be contacted. the server does not support this version of iTunes"
I tried 2 different pcs now and still same message.
    And ideas?????

The error message is likely a result of the Nano not being able to store enough juice to fully and properly boot up.  Even if the battery wasn't working properly or shot, it would still be able to power up enough to apper in iTunes.

  • Restored Now Won't Recognize

Okay so iTunes was telling me to restore my iPod and I did but when I've gone back to sync everything again my computer says that it doesn't recongnize my iPod. What do I do? I kinda can't live without my iPod...so...can anyone help me??

Me too. Have tried to restore iPod as had been getting exclamation mark with file. It wiped all tunes off it before I tried to restore so I had nothing to lose. Now in disk utility, the repair procedure is indicating that the volume needs to be repaired but it cannot do it. It won't mount on either desk top or in iTunes. This is a 2nd generation iPod and surely should have lasted longer than 3 years. Apparently to repair it costs £169!!!!
