Oracle Cloud Service is newly subscribed by firm. And for the first use of My Service, the administrator account is locked  and to unlock it, the system is asking personal information such as mothers name, prefered color that I did not declare before. So I need your support to unclock the administrator account in order to get start the service

Hi,
If you want Oracle to unlock your account you need to get in touch with them, this is a public community forum, so we can't really help you.
Did you check if in your company there is not somebody with an active and valid account with admin permission able to unlock yours?

    I just bought a new laptop and my ipod nano will not stay connected to my computer. When I first connect the ipod it starts to sync on my ipod but not on itunes. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. I cannot transfer any of my songs to my new laptop because of this. I have tried to reinstall itunes, reset my ipod and use a different port. None of these things worked. Any ideas?

    Hi Parmkshinde,
    Here's why you should use Wifi to do a wireless software update:
    While you'd be able to download an update over 3G/4G, the updates are so big that you'll be waiting a really long time (also, you'll eat up a ton of your monthly wireless data), so Wi-Fi is much easier here. You should also make sure you've got plenty of battery life. The download and installation process can take some time, so if you've got less then 50% battery, you may want to plug in to a power source.
    Hope this answers your question!
    Cheers,

    Hi all:
    I am new to Oracle. After installing Oracle 10g I tried to run it but I had Directory Server Connection window popup. It said "To use this tool you must first connect to server. Click on the OK button to select a server". I did not see any server I could choose. And also during installation I had warning or error message but I chose to continue installing.
    Please help me to get this fix....
    Thank you

  • Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Drivers 4.0.2206 timeout on first connection to SQL Server Express after it sleeps

    Our builds kick off and run integration tests. They are configured to hit a SQL Server Express server.
    If the builds have been quiet for a while, the first test to connect fails after stalling for 20 minutes.
    Subsequent tests are fine.
    Reversing test order does the same thing, with a different test.
    We noticed in the SQL Server express log the server saying it is waking up after being idle.
    Microsoft SQL Server Express with Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Drivers 4.0.2206.
    Connection times out after 20 minutes.Occurs with the first connection made after the SQL Server Express server wakes up from going to sleep.Connections after the first are just fine, until SQL Server Express sleeps.SSL enabled. Timeout duration for the connection failure is unaffected by setting timeout options for the connection.  Work around:
    cron-like job that runs every minute that makes a simple query on the server keeps the server from going to sleep.
    Has anyone else run into this?

    Hello,
    SQL Server Express will go to sleep if idle, this behavior is not configurable.
    When SQL Express transitions from idle to active some of the memory that was released needs to be reclaimed; this results is a slight lag during "startup time" when you're first connecting to SQL Express.
    The other sort of sleep occurs when a database with AUTO_CLOSE unloading itself after a period of inactivity. This can be resolved by setting AUTO_CLOSE to false.
    You can refer to the following blog about more details about this:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlexpress/archive/2008/02/22/sql-express-behaviors-idle-time-resources-usage-auto-close-and-user-instances.aspx
    You can try to upgrade the SQL Server Express to a non-free version to get rid of this.

  • Slow first connection using Oracle 10g xe and Visual Studio 2008

    {noformat}
    Good day,
    I'm slightly unaccustomed to using forums, so bear with me.
    My initial connection to the Oracle database takes approximately 30 seconds. It seems to be waiting for a connection before timing out and trying another connection which works, as all subsequent connections work immediately. I'm unsure how other people's responses in forums can help me due to the plethora of configurations, so here's mine. My comprehension of the oracle world is still growing, you'll have to explain the terms you're using for me, Hoping you can help.
    I'm using Visual Studio 2008, set to use 32 bit debug mode, on a Windows 7 Pro platform. Also using Oracle 10g Xe, and have installed the 32 bit version of ODAC 11.2 (11.2.0.1) to aid making a connection from Visual Studio to Oracle.
    I have a database set up and a user with system admin rights. This is all local for a programming project and will never see the light of day outside of my personal machine.
    I am using code to connect, not the GUI. I wish to code this project completely without the aid of the GUI. so my connection string within Visual Studio C# is (pw/id hidden)...
    string xe = "Data Source=xe;User Id=xxxxx;Password=xxxxx;";
    OracleConnection conn = new OracleConnection(xe);
    My c:\devsuitehome\network\admin\sqlnet.ora file is this:
    # sqlnet.ora Network Configuration File: C:\DevSuiteHome\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (LDAP, TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT, ONAMES, HOSTNAME)
    And my c:\devsuitehome\network\admin\TNSNames.ora file is this:
    tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: C:\DevSuiteHome\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
    Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    XE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = xe)
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <machine name)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    Just for good measure, my tnsping xe shows:
    "Used paramter files:<br/>
    c:\devsuitehome\network\admin\sqlnet.ora<br/><br/>
    Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias<br/>
    Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521)))(CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = xe)))
    OK (0 msec)"
    So, how can I make that initial connection faster so I don't spend 15 years testing my application due to slow start-ups? :)
    Thank you.
    Kevin.

    I have formatted my hard drive since my first post. I was running window 64 bit with a higher version of the ODAC and that proved to crash my machine with faulty error messages about memory. I have reverted to a previous version of the ODAC tools and everything works very smooth now. Still the connection time is consistently 20 seconds or longer on the first attempt.
    Just a little more information.. I am currently taking a college course with 15 other students, as you can tell by the impersonal machine name, where programming using visual studio 2008, and Oracle 10g xe is expected. All of us are using a 64 bit environment and we all have difficulties cutting down the load time of making the first connection to Oracle. Some people are longer making the connection, but none are shorter.
    One other note. After the first connection is made, taking 20 or more seconds, and is closed, all subsequent openings of the connection are instantaneous, for all of us.
    If there is ANYTHING more I can get for you, please let me know. With my environment stable as it is, I will not need to format or change any information for the foreseeable future.
    Here is the information you requested
    1 The connection method I am using, I have chosen the manual connection for you, however the delay exists if the connection is made through the GUI as well.
    Historically, I am getting slow connection speeds through adding the connection through the GUI or by a manual connection. Here is how I am doing it manually. I have the connection being created in 20 seconds, which is the best I can get.
    Imports Oracle.DataAccess.Client

            con.ConnectionString = connString
            Try
                con.Open()
                MessageBox.Show("Connected!")
                con.Close()
                con.Dispose()
            Catch ex As Exception
                MessageBox.Show(ex.Message)
            End Try

    I fought for weeks about the ODAC version 11.2.0.1 that you see in the previous post, and that would be a whole new thread. Suffice it to say I have a reliable environment to program in with this 10.2.0.1.0 version that I am running now, and the connection time has not changed, it is still minimum 20 seconds load time, sometimes up to 25.

  • Jdbc hangs on first connection only

    We are running a number of java applications against an Oracle 11g database. The applications are all running on disk-less machines. We are seeing weird behaviour where the first connection, and only the first connection for each application hangs.
    We even see this for sqldeveloper, if you start sqldeveloper and try to make a connection, it sits there with the bar going back and forth until you click cancel, at which point every connection you attempt to make after that is fine.
    We are pretty sure this has to be a problem with JDBC running on a disk-less machine. We have some ODBC applications that run fine on these disk-less machines and we can run the java applications fine on a machine with a disk that has the same architecture as the one without.
    We have tried to turn on JDBC logging by using the ojdbc5_g.jar and setting oracle.jdbc.Trace=true, but have had no success, we have also tried doing it programatically by setting DriverManager.setLogger() and setting it to System.out, but haven't seen anything new.
    We are using the oracle:thin driver and are running on red hat 5.0 with Java 1.5 and a 64 bit architecture, against Oracle 11g . Does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on?
    Edited by: user538801 on Aug 11, 2009 12:15 PM

    We found it, it was a pretty obscure issue. The JDBC getConnection() method makes a call to the random number generator. This call hangs due to the system entropy being 0 on the disk-less blades, when the JVM starts up it waits on the first call to the random number generator for the system entropy to get above a certain threshold which it doesn't do.
    The solution was to use a different random number generator, by default the JVM uses/dev/random which requires sufficient entropy to seed the first call, we changed it to /dev/urandom by setting java.security.egd which is slightly less random, but does not hang on the first call.

  • First connection to the database is very slow.

    i am using oracle 10g and i have developed asp.net web application and i deployed it in 64-bit machine. when i tried to access my application url, first connection to database is taking about 30secs. but consecutive things after first connection is taking only 2 or 3 seconds.
    the query is well tuned and tested.Query is taking only 3 secs to get the results.
    But i dont know why it is taking 30secs for the first time to execute..
    Please help me to solve this issue. It will be helpful for me

    Thanks for your reply peter.
    I have tried , without connecting database, i just hardcoded data values then i tried to access my application at that time it was very fast.
    Then i came to conclusion that problem is in some where in data base connection. because my query is also fine tunes.

  • Very slow first connection with Oracle.DataAccess 4.112.1.2

    Hello, I'm having some troubles with connecting using Oracle DataAccess component. In particular, when using .Net 4 Framework, the first connection to the database takes about 20-25 seconds!
    Here's my setup:
    - Web server running 64-bit Windows Web Server 2008 SP2 with IIS 7.0
    - Oracle server running 64-bit Windows Server Standard 2008 SP2 with Oracle 11g
    The version of ODAC component is 2.112.1.2 / 4.112.1.2
    The first strange thing is that, when I set an application on .NET 4 in IIS, I need to "Enable 32-bit Application" in order for it to work.
    I made some tests with a very simple query: "SELECT 1 FROM dual" and here's the results:
    - Classic ASP (ADODB.Connection): a fraction of a second to connect
    - .NET 2 with System.Data.OracleClient: a fraction of a second to connect
    - .NET 4 with Oracle.DataAccess: 20-25 seconds
    Moreover, if I launch the first connection thru Classic ASP, then the .NET 4 connection is very fast, as it happen in any case from the second connection on...
    This way, I excluded the problem is in the connection string, since it's always pretty much the same. I also excluded it could be a TNS problem, since they all use the same TNS (I think).
    That's all I've come up with, and I'm not a big Oracle expert so I hope someone here can help me sorting the situation out!
    Thanks,
    Stefano

    Thanks for your reply.
    I already tried messing around with that parameter.
    At the moment, it was set as:
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NONE)
    I commented it and nothing changed.
    Thanks anyway :)

    How are you trying to connect the database using JPA?
    Has your datasource got bind successfully. You should check all these things first. If your datasource has not got binded then debug for that.
