First export test in CC, Very Slow

So, I made a test with a 1:30 min. sequence.
In CS6 the export time is 00:03:52
In CC: 27:43!!!!!
Exactly the same sequence, same export settings, both via Media Encoder CS6 & CC respectly.
What could be the problem?
Title was changed to be more clear. Rendering and exporting are not the same thing. Message was edited by: Kevin Monahan

I ran some more tests.  Here's what I have so far:
Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
i7 2500
8GB DDR3 1333 RAM
1TB HD (single drive)
GTX 560 Ti 2GB, 320.18 driver
CUDA acceleration turned on in both versions
I imported a 4 minute AVCHD clip with a lot of action.  I created a sequence based on that clip.  I exported that clip with no edits or effects to BD and DVD settings identical in both versions.
Using AME for Export:
CC7_BD = 5:58
CS6_BD = 5:43  <---Winer CS6
CC7_DVD = 3:07  <---Winner CC7
CS6_DVD = 3:12
Using Direct Export
CC7_BD = 5:49
CS6_BD = 5:40  <---Winner CS6
CC7_DVD = 1:39  <---Winner CC7
CS6_DVD = 2:55
So, it looks like MPEG2 is faster with CC7 and H.264 is faster using CS6.  The biggest difference is for DVD using CC7.  Look at the times for AME and Direct, nearly cut in half!
Now it should be noted that a brand new project was started in each version.  I've seen reports of older projects opened in CC7 behaving slowly, so I wanted to take that into account.  And in fact my first test was done opening an older project, Harm's 5.5 benchmark project, in fact.  So far, it's looking like where the project was created makes a difference.  Of course, Harm's project was full of effects, and this round of tests used none at all.  That's the next step, repeating these tests with effects, both accelerated and not.

  • Firefox was fast when I first started using. Now, very slow to open and freezes often. Frequent message is "Warning-unresponsive script". Do I need to switch back to Internet Explorer?

    Switched from Internet Explorer because seemed slow. Firefox was fast at first. Then upgraded to Firefox 4 and frequently have trouble opening. Sometimes page doesn't open, or is very slow. If I try to open again I will get Mozilla Firefox Unresponsive or a message that say "Warning-Unresponsive Script". Often have to restart and do the whole thing again. Don't really want to switch back to Internet Explorer, but getting tired of taking a half hour to get into my emails!

    I am having the same problem, but not sure what's causing the slow down. Restarting in safe mode fixes the performance problem... but disabling all plug ins and extensions in normal mode (and restarting firefox) still shows the bug. Any ideas?

  • Discoverer report runs okay in test system but very slow in live

    Hi all
    My Discoverer report takes about 5 minutes to run in the test environment. The same report (absolutely the same SQL in the custom folder in the admin edition and the same conditions and sort in the Desktop edition) takes at least 45 mins to run in live.
    Has anyone faced a problem like this? How can I speed up my report in the live environment? I am using Discoverer version 4.1.48.06.00
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Aruna

    Hey Aruna.
    Are you sure the 2 environments are exactly the same (ie: one recently copied to the other)? Reason I'm asking is that if one has many more records, or one has an index, etc. then that would, of course, cause a difference.
    What about the time when you're running it? Is the production environment an Apps environment and they're running batch jobs, updating shipping info in the last week of the month, etc?
    I would first of all see if the environments are the same by trying something as simple as running the query in TOAD or SQL Navigator or SQL Developer in both environments and then seeing if there's the same difference. If not, then move on to the Discoverer side of things.
    If they're still different, then are the Disco environments the same? Have you turned query prediction, etc. off in DEV but not in PROD?
    Is the DEV box a hot damn new UNIX box with all the good stuff like oodles of memory, multi-processors, etc? And is the PROD box a Commodore 64? Okay, just kidding on the last test, but you get the idea.
    Start at the same relative time (ie: morning). Start TOAD, etc. and see the speed difference there. Then move on to Disco and see the speed difference.

  • Time Capsule: First backup over ethernet is very slow

    My understanding is that a direct ethernet connection between my Imac and Time Capsule would make the initial backup process faster, but I did not notice any improvement whatsoever and the first backup is proceeding veeeeeeery slow. I was wondering if there was something I was missing when I connected by cable.
    Thank you for your help!

    Felix,
    The first backup I did was wirelessly and it was slow.
    So, I erased the TC Hard Disk and hooked it up via ethernet.
    It went much faster.
    I was doing about 1.1 GB every 5 minutes using ethernet.

  • Export to PDF is very slow

    Hi all,
    I am using the following script to export an indd document to PDF file. But the process takes long time. Is there any configurations that can be made to reduce the processing time.
    app.documents.item(0).exportFile(ExportFormat.pdfType,File(<pdfFileName>),app.pdfExportPre sets.item("[Press Quality]"));
    Please provide me some way to reduce the processing time taken for exporting PDF.
    Thanks,
    Anitha

    Tiago,
    For exporting Discoverer has to bring all the data into memory, format it and then export it to the client. It does not use the data cache, so possibly you are running low on memory and your swap/disk is being used -- something to check
    For Discoverer 10g Desktop, the aggregation registry keys are not there by default so that could also cause a slow export and cpu utilization if you have aggregation. See MetaLink document 313444.1 -- it may apply to 9.0.4 as well
    SS,
    You have not provided which component you are exporting from (Desktop, Plus, Viewer) and the versions. There could be several possibilities depending upon the component and the version. The above also applies.
    I also recall and issue with spanish office 2003 in some prior versions -- not sure if that applies to your situation(s)

  • SQVI Export output to Excel - Very slow performance

    Hi All,
    We have a small issue related to downloading the output from SQVI into Excel 2007. Earlier the downloads used to happen very quickly but off late, this has become a performance issue.
    Steps after getting report output on screen- I generally use the option,
    1. List -> Export -> Local File -> Spreadsheet to download to excel. But recently I observed that the Pop up window that comes up for selecting SAVE LIST IN FILE (with options Unconverted / Spread sheet etc) comes after a long wait.....
    Again after i perform these two below steps,  the actual download also takes a huge time...
    2. Choose Table for Radio button
    3. Choose Microsoft Excel
    Please note that I am not facing this issue when i try to download output data from Z Reports.  Can anyone suggest any SAP Notes related or how can we improve the dowload speeeds...
    Thanks a lot in advance to all..
    Rgds,
    Lakshmi Narayana

    problem is your local network/file system and not sap-sytem
    better choose alv list as output and use strgshiftF7 (spreadsheet)
    hope that helps

  • First Request to BlazeDS is VERY slow. why?

    Hi guys,
    When I executing first RPC via AMF on my blazeDS from flex it's so slow. It's take about 10s (!)
    Each next request is executing much faster, I didn't benchmark it but I'm sure it's less than 0.5s
    I'm beggining in flex/blazeDS/java development so please be patient.
    My web server is 6.0.14
    JVM 1.6.0_17-b04
    BlazeDS 3.2.0.3978
    it's my first post

    Hello Beynar,
    Which Servlet container are you using? Most likely the problem you are experiencing comes from caching and other configuration derived from container's settings.
    Sadly, I'm also experiencing similar problem in performance. Currently, using Glassfish and switching to Tomcat.

  • Why first time loading ReportViewer object very slow

    I am interested to know why the first time .net applaction loading the ReportViewer object so slow. It might take over 60s. Is this a performance issue or we need preload the object?

    Hello Steve,
    if you view a report for the first time the report viewer needs to load all dlls needed to connect to the database and to render and display the report. These dlls stay in memory a certain time afterwards.
    That is why the report takes much longer to display the first time.

  • 10g Form - first execute query - very slow

    I have the following issue:
    Enter an application
    open a form in enter query mode
    first time execute query is very slow (several minutes)
    every other time it's quick (couple seconds or less)
    I can leave the form, use other forms within the app, come back and query is still quick. It's only the first time after initially launching the app.
    Any ideas what might be causing this?

    We have the same application running in 6i client/server DB-9i in production. We are testing the upgraded application that is 10g forms on OAS DB-10g. We don't have the issue in the current production client/server app.

  • Simple Soap Test, VERY SLOW with XP, only 5 calls per second !

    Hello,
    I'm just starting developing a web service. My first test shows a very slow performance of only about 5 calls per second:
    Windows XP client localhost -> Windows XP server: 2000 calls per second
    Windows XP client in VM on server maschine -> Windows XP server: 4,5 calls per second
    Windows XP client over 100 MBit LAN -> Windows XP server: 2000 calls per second: 4,5 calls per second
    Windows XP client over 1000 MBit LAN -> Windows XP server: 2000 calls per second: 4,5 calls per second
    So you might think, that is it, but - using identical jars:
    Mac OS X, 10.6 client -> Windows XP server: 880 calls per second
    Windows XP client -> Mac OS X 10.6 server: 4,5 calls per second
    So the problem seems to be the client setup on an Windows XP system.
    This is the service code:
    package net.metasafe.soapbenchmark.server;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    @WebService
    public class TestLib {
         private int count = 0;

              if (b == 0)

              return a / b;

         @WebMethod
         public void resetCount() {
              this.count = 0;

                   return;
              int num = Integer.parseInt(args[2]);
              URL url = new URL("http://" + args[0] + ":" + args[1]
                        + "/services?wsdl");
              System.out.println("Conneting to service '" + url + "' .... ");
              QName qname = new QName("http://some_uri/",

              TestLibService service = new TestLibService(url, qname);
              TestLib tl = service.getTestLibPort();
              System.out.println("Connected !");

              tl.resetCount();
              System.out.println("\nPerforming " + num + " calls ...");
              long starttime = System.currentTimeMillis();
              int i;
              for (i = 1; i <= num; i++) {
                   tl.div(i, 2);
                   if (i % 100 == 0)
                        System.out.println(i);
              long t = System.currentTimeMillis() - starttime;
              System.out.println("Performed " + tl.getNumberOfCalls() + " calls in "
                        + (t / 1000.0f) + " seconds.");
              System.out.println("Calls per second: " + (num * 1000.0f / t));
              System.out.println("Done");
         }Any idea, why this is so slow, if the client runs on an Windwos XP (Pro) system ?
    Is there anything I have to be aware of when choosing the QName ?
    Best regards

  • First execution of sql statements is slow every morning

    Dears,
    we are running an oracle11g database (HP-UX Itanium) and have the following problem:
    Every morning the first execution of statements is very slow.
    After the first execution the statements are running fine.
    Does anyone have an idea where this can come from?
    Is it possible that the cache (shared pool, etc.) will be deleted every night (for example when new statistics are generated or something else)?
    Regards,
    Ilja

    I think you are close to answering your question.
    As you know, Oracle 11g has an automated job to run performance stats every night at approx. 10:00pm (until 2:00am).
    This is run by the dbms_scheduler.
    This could be causing the shared_pool to be flushed because it certainly uses it a lot. I have to manually flush the shared_pool every night in one of my databases before this job runs otherwise I get an ORA-01461.
    But, what I'm surprised is that you have this problem only in the morning.
    It seems you would want to pin your SQL in memory and perhaps set a profile for your execution.
    You don't bounce your database every night, do you?

  • Very slow when testing movie

    Hi,
    I've built a flash project that has multiple alpha tweens etc. Yesterday and all days prior, it ran fine when I tested the movie (using preview mode in flash) but today everything is dragging. The tweens stutter and the whole movie seems to chug along without the smoothness I've always seen.
    Here's what has changed:
    When I tried to open my latest version of fla project today, I got an 'unexpected file format' error. (Other earlier versions open fine.) I searched on that error and found this: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4586656
    ...which recommends an update:
    Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5 Security Update 11.5.2
    I installed that update and  restarted my computer.
    That file now opened ...but now all fla projects are very, very slow as described above (Not just that one that wouldn't open before). Tweening background images even vanish at one point. I'v rebooted without improvement. (It doesn't seem to affect the SWFs exported from those fla files.)
    CS5.5 ver 11.5.2.349
    Win 8.1 (updated from Win8 couple days ago)
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    According to MS it's compatible with Windows 8.1 and Adobe states the same. If you did an OS upgrade, are you sure you updated everything you can (windows updates, drivers, etc)? The GPU is being used more and more putting a huge emphasis on keeping drivers up to date.
