First lost contacts, now contacts no longer interfacing w/ Favorites/CallID

I have first generation cell phone (bought day 2). I installed 2.0 last week and enabled MobleMe also and thus far before today, no problems.
Midday today I was updating a contact on the iPhone when right before my eyes, 1500 contacts (all of them) disappeared from my iPhone. I contacted AppleCare and they told me it was a known problem. I got the following email from them later today:
Hi sir,
I just spoke to my Product Specialist here and i apologizize for the delayed email, it was a 25 minute wait to ge through.
He said that you should turn mobile me over the air syncing off because right now they are experiencing some problems and you will definitely not come across this as long as your over the air syncing is turned off.
You can go to apple.com/support/mobileme for more information regarding mobileme
Take care
Anyways, I was able to restore the contacts from syncing with my computer, but I see several new problems:
1. Favorites are all numbers--it does not show the person's name
2. Inbound phone calls from people in my Address Book only show their numbers
3. VM only shows their phone numbers, not names
Clearly the phone functions are not referring to the contacts. I have done a restore, rebooted phone twice and synced three times, still not fixing the problems.
Any suggestions?

I did a complete restore as a "new phone" and this seems to resolve the problem (except today when I lost contacts for 1 hour but then they suddenly appeared again.)

  • HT1386 After a full system update phone and comp, some of my contacts have been lost and most of them now only have the numbers remaining, can the lost contacts be retrieved completely somehow.

    At some point in the past, I synched with Gmail.  Looking at my Gmail contacts, I can see that it's missing the same contacts I'm currently missing from the iPhone.  Is it possible that I may have done that sync back in October 2009 (but not since) and then somehow recently over-wrote my contacts content with whatever was there?  Is there some setting I could have tripped to make something like that happen?

  • Muse Lost Contact with my Site

    First of all, I'd like to tell you how bad it sucks to have to go through this process to get support. My recommendation of Muse just went from a 10 to a 4; this is unacceptable.
    Out of NOWHERE, Muse lost contact with my site. I didn't do A SINGLE THING different, but now my site will no longer update. I've gone as far as to delete everything and starting over, uploading 80 pages and 787 files to try to make my site functional again, to NO AVAIL. Even though I've deleted the site, it is still active.
    I've started 'fresh' 3 times. I have never had a problem linking a site to a URL, or Muse to a URL for updating. I'm frustrated and flabergasted. Now I'm at the mercy of the ******* COMMUNITY to get help with something ADOBE's malfunction/ dysfunctional product caused?!?!  W T F .
    How do I resolve this issue?

    The best place to go for immediate support is Live Chat at <http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=muse&topic=using-my-product-or-service> and click on "I still need help…" and then "Chat now".
    The best place to tap into a large group with very deep and broad experience using, developing and supporting Muse is here on the forum. Those active of the forum include fellow Muse users and members of the Muse Technical Support and Product Development Teams.
    What specifically are you attempting that's failing? FTP Upload? Publish? Or something else? Can you provide a screenshot of what error(s) you're encountering so we can better understand how we can help? What's the URL for your site? Thanks.

  • SQL*LOADER script with ORA-03135: connection lost contact error

    Hello,
    I got a really strange problem with a script that transfer data from a database to an other. Each day we recieve the raw data in zipped txt files, then we feed it to the database with SQL Loader. This worked fine until two weeks ago. At first, I thought the error must have been in the script, but it didn't change at all since 3 months. And the weirdest thing is that sometime it works without any problems, but now I get almost anytime the "ORA-03135: connection lost contact" and it seems to happen randomly. It never fails at the same place , thought the data I feed the script is always the same.
    I'm new to SQL*Loader and since the script seems to send all the data, I don't understand where that error come from. Can I do something on my workstation or the problem is on the database server ?
    I think the problem would be that the connection get a timeout out on the server, but we never got that problem on the production server and it has a lot more data to transfer then my little test script.
    Have you any idea on whjat the problem could be ?

    03135, 00000, "connection lost contact"
    // *Cause:  1) Server unexpectedly terminated or was forced to terminate.
    //          2) Server timed out the connection.
    // *Action: 1) Check if the server session was terminated.
    //          2) Check if the timeout parameters are set properly in sqlnet.ora.I would suspect networking issues external to sqlldr & Oracle

  • Upgraded iphone4 to ios5, lost contacts, help!

    Just upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS5 and now all of my contacts on my phone are gone, not good.
    "Just plug in your phone and let oTunes do the rest" they said. Can I please get my contacts back?

    You need to turn off synching through the iCloud and synch through iTunes to your Outlook of Address Book however this will still leave you with linked/duplicate contact cards in your phone and your favorites contacts in the phone as well as all caller id photos etc. will be linked to the old contacts.  In order to get rid of those contacts what I did was added the simple change to the contacts I synched from the computer (I added an exclamation point to the notes sections).  Then synch to your iPhone through iTunes not through the iCloud, then search your iPhone for the first contact name you have in your list.  You will see this will bring up 2 contacts for the same person.  Select either contact then hit the back button.  You will then be in the contact list but you will see in this work around there will be 2 contacts listed for everyone.  Select the contact card and then delete it that does not have the added change so you can tell what is new and old.  This will leave you with the new contact cards and remove the corrupted/lost contacts.  You will lastly need to turn on the iCloud synch and either leave or remove those changes you made (like my exclamation points) from your new contacts.  This is a pain in the tail but the only way I was able to completely fix the issue.
    Good luck!

  • Listener Won't accept connections after time (OERR TNS lost contact)

    I am running 8.1.7.0.1 on Linux 7.1 (all patches applied).
    Things were going great until this morning and my listener now
    seems to be flaking out. After I start it, people can connect to
    the database but within a few minutes they start getting
    ORA-12547 TNS lost contact when they try to connect. If I
    tnsping the database from my client I get the "No Listener"
    message. Doing a status on the listener shows that (2) service
    handlers are active for my database...when I first start it there
    is only one. What does that mean? Does anyone have any
    suggestions? Thanks in advance...

    How is your Apple TV connected to your Computer? I know that you are doing this wirelessly, but is their an access point being used between your computer and the Apple TV? If so, is it and Airport Extreme, or a third-party router? If third-party, what type? N? G?
    What is the distance between your computer and the bedroom? What type of computer are you using Mac or PC? If PC, XP or Vista?
    Sorry to ask all of these questions, but I'm trying to figure out if this is a problem with the distance and, if so, can the router be tweaked to increase its broadcast to your bedroom.
    If the the distance is too great, you might have to purchase an Airport Express to work as an extender. On the other hand, if you are using a Linksys Router, you can change the Radio Beacon to improve signal. If you are using an access point google Beacon Interval, Fragmentation Threshold, and RTS Threshold.
    For example, change your Beacon to 50, your Fragmentation Threshold to 2304 and your RTS Threshold to 2305. This will improve the quality of the signal. You do this by accessing your Router through your web browser: type 192.168.1.1 (or whatever is the equivalent for your router.)
    Well, I'm walking between the raindrops here. Good luck.

  • Restore to earlier date.. lost contacts on 5s after facebook update

    anyone know how to restore to an earlier date? I plugged in to restore but Itunes did an auto backup so now I have a back up of my phone with lost contacts.
    Used to you could right click and pick a date but that option isnt there now.. plz help

    Before you do any else, let's look to see where your contacts (mostly) reside on the Z10.
    Open your Contact app.
    Swipe down from the top bezel to Settings.
    scroll down to turn OFF each of the Social accounts (BBM, BBM video, LinkedIn, Faceboo, and Twitter) accounts, so that you leave ONLY the email, SIM , etc. contacts ON.
    Tap Back at lower left.
    Now, on the contacts main screen, from the middle of the screen, pull down on the screen to reveal your TOTAL number of contacts. Keep note of that number.
    Return to the settings and NOW, turn off the remaining email and SIM card contacts to NOT show.
    Go back and again check the total of number of contacts.
    Now, this final number is the total contacts residing "Local" on the device, not syncing with anything.
    Those local contacts can be deleted in mass, and you can sync with your iCloud contacts if you like.
    How to integrate iCloud contact, calendar, or email accounts on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone
    Let me know if you want to delete those local contacts, and I'll tell you how. See if your sync with iCloud can be setup first.

  • How to recover lost contacts (i just back up my iphone 5)

    I just back up my iphone 5 before updating for the new update.
    After back up from 900+ contacts it became 142.
    so i lost 800+ contacts.
    how can i recover my lost contacts?

    if they are showing in the device as a ghost contact, your best bet would be to restore from the backup:
    iCloud and iTunes can back up most data on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    Backed-up information includes purchased music, TV shows, apps, and books*; photos and video in the Camera Roll; device settings (for example, Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts); app data; Home screen and app organization; Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS), ringtones, and more. Media files synced from your computer aren’t backed up, but can be restored by syncing with iTunes.
    * Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backup of purchased TV shows occurs only in the United States. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

    iCloud
    How to back up
    iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. After you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device is:
    Connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi
    Connected to a power source
    Screen locked
    You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Now from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.To learn more about what is backed up, see the iCloud: Backup and Restore Overview article.
    How to restore from a backup
    When you go through Setup Assistant on a new device using iOS 5 or later, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.If the home screen icons appear on your device and you wish to restore from an iCloud backup, erase your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, select Restore from iCloud Backup. Enter your AppleID and password when prompted.After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content*. For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete. You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device.A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.To check if the restore is complete, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    iTunes
    How to back up
    iTunes can create backups of your iOS device when you:
    Sync with iTunes (disabled if you have iCloud backup turned on)
    Right-click (or Control-click) the iOS device in iTunes under Devices and choose Back Up
    Use these steps to manually back up your iOS device using iTunes:
    Connect your iOS device to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed.
    Click the File menu and select Devices > Back up.
    Or
    Connect your iOS device to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed.
    Open the iOS device's Summary tab. There are two ways to access this:
    Click the device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper right corner. The device button will then be visible.)
    From any view in iTunes, click the View menu and select Show Sidebar. Select your iOS device in iTunes under Devices.
    Click the Back Up Now button.
    To verify that the backup finished successfully, open iTunes Preferences and select the Devices tab. The name of the device will appear along with the date and time the backup was created.
    If using iTunes 10.7 or earlier:
    Right-click (or Control-click) the device and select Back Up.
    How to restore from a backup
    To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:
    Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up.
    Or
    Open the iOS device's Summary tab.

    Do you have a support.oracle.com User Account?
    If yes search there for TNS-12547 and you will get a huge list of possible root causes.
    Just to name a few (which you can check - also compare with your first node):
    Permission oracle executable
    Kernel Parameter

  • HT1414 Lost contacts when trying to copy from iphone 3gs to iphone 5?

    Hi All,
    I was trying to transfer iphone contacts from my old iphone to new one and followed the steps as mentioned on below link.
    http://techtips.salon.com/transferring-contacts-one-iphone-another-4973.html
    I realized all the contacts are now lost and now not on both the phones. Please suggest urgently how can I recover the same.

    The author of the article, or whoever edited it for publication (or both) is a raging moron. I can tell you exactly what happened.
    If you followed those directions to the letter, and you did not ALREADY have at least one contact in whatever address book on your computer you were trying to sync with, then the phones were wiped out by the black address book on your computer.
    Sorry. Nothing much you can do now. They are gone.

    may i know what you have done before....srvctl start...etc...
    do you have done any changes?
    post your oracle version and OS....
    please find below notes from metalink..it may helpful to you....
    This could be many things but a popular issue is when you have a separate ASM Home and the listener is running out of this home (it was the first home installed). Srvctl needs a TNS_ADMIN alias to the network/admin directory in this home instead of using the default ORACLE_HOME/network/admin for the database you are trying to start. For srvctl to work you must
    srvctl setenv nodeapps -n node -T TNS_ADMIN=full path
    on each node in the cluster.
    You cannot rely on a TNS_ADMIN environment variable.
    See Note 420977.1
    Another cause is non-existent spfile, see Note 732683.1

  • Error message "ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact" during dbca

    Background info: I am building a new test 11.2.0.3 RAC cluster running on IBM pSeries hardware with AIX 6.1 OS level. I need to practice building a cluster and then adding a new node later. Because of limited hardware availability, my inital cluster will have 1 node and I will add the additional node later.
    I installed Grid Infrastructure successfully. GI and ASM are online and appear to be working normally. Today I installed the 11.2.0.3 database software. I am now trying to create a test database using DBCA. After entering all of the database information (SID information, where db files should reside, memory sizing, etc.) the database creation begins, then immediately issues the error message "ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact".
    I have searched MOS (Metalink) and also reviewed a few sites using Google. All of the information indicates this problem occurs most often when trying to log into an existing database using sqlplus. I haven't found anything related to this error message during database creation.
    Does anyone have advice on how to troubleshoot where the problem is coming from? Can you point me to some documentation that would help with this issue?
    Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you!

    Srini,
    I was verifying that I understood your request. The last install log relates to the Oracle db software installation and was created by OUI. The DBCA utility has not created any actual install logs. DBCA issues the error less than 10 seconds after I choose the "Finish" button to begin the database creation process. I also reviewed 4 notes on MOS and unfortunately they do not seem to apply. The permissions settings appear correct on all directories for both the database software owner and the grid infrastructure owner as well.
    Here are the last 200 lines from the OUI install log. Thank you again for all of your help!

  • Connection lost contact error

    Hello,
    I get the following error:
    RMAN-06900: WARNING: unable to generate V$RMAN_STATUS or V$RMAN_OUTPUT row
    RMAN-06901: WARNING: disabling update of the V$RMAN_STATUS and V$RMAN_OUTPUT rows
    ORACLE error from target database:
    ORA-03135: connection lost contact
    by a full database backup command: backup as copy incremental level 0 database tag level_0;
    The backup goes on, further datafiles are copied.
    Than the backup ends with this error:
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00601: fatal error in recovery manager
    RMAN-03004: fatal error during execution of command
    The first error seems to be a timeout problem so I modified the parameters in the sqlnet.ora.
    current settings:
    SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME=5
    SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT=300
    SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT=300
    SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT=300
    The modifications haven't solved the error.
    The second error is to generally and I don't know, if this error is in relationship to the first error. Where can I find more information about the second error on my database server?
    DB version 10gR2 on RedHat Linux ES4
    Best regards,
    Mathias

    Hi Tycho,
    I suggest that the backup causes the high load, because at normal operation time the load is between 0.2 and 2.
    I use no compression and only one channel.
    RMAN configuration parameters are:
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 3;
    CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION OFF; # default
    CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '%F'; # default
    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK BACKUP TYPE TO COMPRESSED BACKUPSET PARALLELISM 1;
    CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
    CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default
    CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION FOR DATABASE OFF; # default
    CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM 'AES128'; # default
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO NONE; # default
    backup command:
    allocate channel c1 type disk format '...';
    backup as copy incremental level 0 database tag level_0;
    I can retry everytime, but I have no idea what I can configure to get a better result (no errors).
    Means 'CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK BACKUP TYPE TO COMPRESSED BACKUPSET PARALLELISM 1;' compression is used for my backup command?
    Regards,
    Mathias
