First page of PDF is blank

PDF's that I create look fine in all readers except Adobe Reader for Android where the first page is blank. I can't figure out why though for the life of me. Anyone have an idea why something like this would occur?

Do you have any insight into why this occurred and if there's a way to avoid it until you guys get this fixed? Any ETA on the fix? This is a huge issue for us right now and I'm trying to figure out any workaround possible. Thanks.

I've had a recurring issue which I've l lived with for quite a while and have not been able to narrow down what causes it.
Sometimes a report exported as a PDF has a blank page 1 (missing what should be on page 1 - I only see a black border outline when opening the PDF) and from page 2 on looks normal. Originally the reports were created from a template TDR. After we upgraded to Diadem 2012 I rewrote the report code to dynamically create each report from scratch and the problem happened using both methods. I run this code on different computers and using a variety of source files and I haven't been able to figure out a pattern.
All the reports are being automatically generated so I don't have a TDR to compare to the PDF.
For example, today I generated an Attribute, a dirty and a clean report. Page 1 of the attribute report was blank, but the dirty and clean reports look fine. Page 1 for all 3 reports is a page containing the serial numbers which were used to generate the rest of the report. If there are enough serial numbers to require more than one page, the second page prints fine.
I have a different product which page 1 of the dirty report is blank. There is no attribute report for this product. It's almost like there is some initialization code that needs to happen is not happening, but it fixes itself once it goes on to page 2, and all future reports for the product work fine. But I'm using the same code on a different computer and it is not generating blank pages.
The code for the first page of the attribute, dirty and clean is the same code. The attribute and dirty/clean routines are in different code files so the routine which generates the serial number page is copied.
Looking for any ideas.

I feel for you, this looks like a hard one to narrow down to a solution. I have made automatically generating reports to PDF as well.
It does sound some initialization code is not being ran consistently. With my limitations of can't see code, and really do not have the time if did have code. But I can offer some tips used to trouble shoot similar issues.
1) As far as comparing the tdr to PDF. You can add right before the PDF is made, a command to save the tdr file. That will allow you to verify that the PDF output command is not the issue. It will also allow code to be developed to detect it missing, and log it.
2) Once you have a TDR of the first page not happening, you can develop code to look at the report objects to check that the first page has values in it.
3) Once you have the code that will detect the first page not being present, then this sub or function can be can at various pages of the app, with results logged to DIAdem log or other fie. This has the potential to reduce the possible area causing the issue.
General notes:
a) When you are refering to the specific pages. Is this by page number or by page name? I usually use page name to get the page I want.
b) When it builds the report and report objects, Is the app naming the objects as it makes them? If it was then it would make is more straightforward to check for them missing.
I am thinking that once you have a sample TDR with the missing first page information, It opens up the troubleshooting options.
If some examples of the above are helpful. Just let me know.

Only first page of pdfs will display in Reader for iPad?

When I attempt to open some (not all) pdf files, only the first page of the document will display. The remaining pages show up blank, with the top toolbar also not displayed.
These files are downloaded from my university's Blackboard app, with some working properly and others not despite them all being pdfs. I have tried downloading them directly from Blackboard and uploading them to Google Drive (where they display properly) and downloading them from there, but neither works. All files will open and display properly in iBooks so it seems that the problem is with Adobe Reader. How do I fix this?

Are you running the latest Adobe Reader Version i.e. 11.0.1? Can you please share the file where you are encountering this issue to [email protected]?

Safari 4.0.3 only displays first page of PDF

Since a recent software update Safari fails to display anything other than the first page of any PDF opened within it. This applies to direct downloads, and to previously downloaded PDFs that worked perfectly in Safari only days ago. Any ideas? I do not use any 3rd party plug-ins, only the pure in-line viewer built into Safari. I do not wish to use the Adobe plug-in because is it god-awful slow to launch.
The PDFs are intact, and can be viewed normally in Firefox or Preview. Therefore, this seems likely to be a recently added anti-feature. This is an app-killer for me.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh my goodness, I have spent HOURS today trying to get Safari to download more than the first page of a PDF. Aughghgh!
Someone please help...none of the above work. Control-clicking doesn't work. Replacing the com.apple.Safari.plist doesn't work. Opening in a new window, "saving as" to the hard drive, etc. doesn't work.
It works just fine on my iMac at work, but I am not at work…
I would prefer NOT to use Acrobat Reader if I can help it, because I understand it is incredibly slow.
Does ANYONE know how to get Safari to download a multipage PDF? I don't care if it opens in Preview automatically or if I have to open it later, I just need to get the darn file!

Mail only sends the first page of PDF files

since I upgraded to OS 10.8.3, when I send a PDF attachment using Mail only the first page is sent.

Select the page and go to Tools>Pages>Extract to get the page. Then save as other>DOCX.

Why does Safari only display the first page of PDFs

When I use Safari to view PDFs attached to a web site I manage only the first page of the PDF displays. There is no problem if I use other browsers. Also the problem is specific to my machine as other Mac users can view all pages of the PDF on their machines. I have looked at Safari Preferences but there does not appear to be any incorrect settings.

do you have any 'pdf' plugins showing in HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ ?
If you do, quit all browsers & drag the plugin to the Desktop, or some other folder, then test pdf's again. If they still display oddly, try quitting Safari & removing the file Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist.
If np pdf plugins show, try the plist move anyway & if you still have problems, it's helpful to test this in a New User Account which takes but a few minutes & tells us if it's a system-wide issue, or restricted to your regular user.

In the bottom details pane of Windows Explorer, the PDF can be shown as either just a PDF icon or a thumbnail image of the first page of the PDF.
What aspect of the PDF file determines what is shown, and how is this changed (if possible) in Acrobat?

Neither PDF (the file format) nor Acrobat / Adobe Reader are involved with the "preview" an OS file browser might provide. When present it is provided by the OS. To learn more about the whole thing some web searches will yield a generous population of links to information.

First page on website is blank

I have successfully started a personal domain withiWeb.
My address however shows something like this www.mywebsite/www.mywebsite/firstpage name.html
when I go to MOBILE ME , and look under iWeb, the first page is labeled blank
On the iWeb editing page the first page is www.mywebsite, and the second page is firstpage

You may want to consider renaming your Site to something simpler instead of giving it the same name as your domainname.
On the iWeb editing page the first page is www.mywebsite, and the second page is firstpage

Do not confuse Pagenames with Sitenames with Domainnames.
The first part is your Domainname
The second part is your Sitename
The third part is your Pagename
The Sitename and Pagename is what you entered yourself. You can change it if you want.

Get rid of first page in PDF generated by report designer

When I publish a report from report designer and convert it to print version, the first page of the PDF has - name of the report and last updated information for the whole first page. How can I get rid of this page? is there any setting that I need to do to get rid of the front page with all these details.

Email shows first page of PDF document but won't let me launch iBooks

Hello, I've been trying to launch iBooks from an email with a PDF attachment. The email shows the first page of the PDF document but there's nothing I can do from there. I can launch iBooks from safari to read the PDF but I need to do it via email.

Acrobat Pro 8 will only print first page of pdf at 11x17

Hello all. When I try print 11x17 from Acrobat Pro 8 only the first page prints. I have tried several printers and all do the same. I have tried entering page numbers rather than leaving it on print all. I have tried printing 11x17 from other applications and it works fine. And I am able to print 8.5x11 from Acrobat just fine. I've tried searching all sorts of forums and I cannot seem to find any information on this particular problem. Suggestions anyone? I need to get this resolved...it is highly annoying since we print many 11x17 documents on a daily basis.

I have developed a web dynpro application through which i will be calling an adobe form to export data.
I am calling the adobe form which i have developed from my view in web dynpro, where i am always getting the initial page as blank.
Please provide solution how to skip the initial blank page.

Have you made the content of Body Page as "Flowed" in the subform tab, and check "Allow Page Breaks withing content".

Only first page prints PDF files Adobe Reader 9 kb40558 fix Chinese version

We have been having a problem with Acrobat and Adobe Reader 9 only print the first few pages of multi-page PDF documents. This is fixed with kb40558 for our English versions but the students and I can not find where to make the change to Font and Resource Policy" dropdown to "Send for Each Page" in the Chinese version.
Can someone help - A Chinese language version of the KB or a screen shot of the location where the change is required would be most helpful

Automatically show number of pages in PDF on first (general) page?

I want to have a field at my first page of pdf document which automatically shows how many pages are there in document. Is that possible, if yes, how? i know i can have number of pages in header, but I need special field inside body of my first (general) page of pdf document
