First play plays audio again

In DVDSP2 I have a logo with music audio bed as first play. They play fine, but then when the player continues to the first menu, two seconds of audio from the beginning of the first play plays again. No video just the first few bars of the music. This doesn't happen in simulation mode, but it happens every time on the disk on a variety of players. What is wrong?

A couple of questions: how long is the first play
video? Is the audio the same length? Does the first
menu have any video or audio? Also, it doesn't happen
in Simulator, but does it happen if you play the
VIDEO_TS folder on your hard disk with DVD Player?
Just trying to determine if your set-top box is the
cause, or whether maybe the audio is repeating
because it's not the same length as the video.
That was it. Audio was longer than video. Thanks!

  • When I play my Ipod shuffle 3rd gen there's a moment when I start hearing interference until it stops playing, when I turn it off and on again it starts playing from the first song all over again, and once it sounded like the music was slowing down.

    My Ipod shuffle 3rd gen starts playing songs with some kind of interference until it stops playing, when I turn it off and on again it starts playing from the first song all over again, and once it sounded like the music was slowing down.  First I thought it was the earphones, but I exchanged them for newer ones and so far its the same

    You may want to do a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If it's a software or data corruption glitch, the Restore should fix it.  After the Restore, reload or resync your songs, and try it again.  As a test, you may want to initially select a small number of songs to put back on the shuffle.

  • How do i play multiple audio files simultaneously using AudioQueue?

    I've basically gutted what I don't need from the "Speakhere" sample app and I'm left with something I can use to play audio files. I converted wav files to aiff and then renamed the aiff to caf (Just in case this matters). I even tried shortening the files to 10 seconds long, but no difference. I am able to play files singly, but am unable to play more than one file at the same time. When I try to play multiple files, the first one plays correctly but the second will play a horrible long beeping sound. Sounds almost like a buzzer and sometimes will sound like a high pitched beep. My code has all the audio components like the speakhere app (AudioQueueObject, AudioPlayer, AudioViewController). I've changed the AudioViewController to be just my "AudioController" class where when I initialize, I pass in the name of the file and it replaces this line of code:
    CFStringRef fileString = (CFStringRef) [NSString stringWithFormat: @"%@/Recording.caf", self.recordingDirectory];
    with this:
    CFStringRef fileString = (CFStringRef) [NSString stringWithFormat: fileName, self.recordingDirectory];
    Any suggestions? I've been yanking my hair out trying to figure this out and I simply can't. I'm about ready to pull an "Office Space" but instead of beating up a printer, I'm going to destroy my macbook.
    *NOTE: I have only tried this in the simulator, but I'm assuming it will do this on the real thing so I haven't bothered to try.

    Unless I'm mistaken, you need one AudioQueue object for each audio file you want to play. In one of my apps, I basically copied the code provided in the [AudioQueue programming guide|http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/MusicAudio/Concep tual/AudioQueueProgrammingGuide/AQPlayback/chapter4_section_1.html#//appleref/doc/uid/TP40005343-CH3-SW1] and made a wrapper object for playback. So then you can do something like this:
    MyAudioManager *manager1 = [[MyAudioManager alloc] initWithFile:@"file1.caf"];
    [manager1 play];
    MyAudioManager *manager2 = [[MyAudioManager alloc] initWithFile:@"file2.caf"];
    [manager2 play];
    // etc...
    If you want to play short files (~10s or less), you can use the simpler AudioServices functions along with SystemSoundID's. It will work fine if you have playback from AudioQueue and AudioServices at the same time.

  • HT1399 I was able to see the lyrics while playing the audio when my iOS was 6.1.4 now i do not know what to do to see the lyrics while playing the audio or a karaoke

    I was able to see the lyrics while playing the audio when my iOS was 6.1.4
    now i do not know what to do to see the lyrics while playing the audio or a karaoke after upgraded(?) to iOS 7
    Is there any chance to see the lyrics in iOS 7 or i want to degrade it to 6.1.4?

    Thank you for responding. I'm not sure if my complete original message came through. It was just today that an automatic update notice came through, and I installed the update that was offered. So I have to guess that version — 10.1.10 — is the latest version that's available to me. My OS is 10.6.8. Again (in case the complete message isn't appearing), I'm on an older Mac, specifically MacBook 2.1. Perhaps this is the problem, and I never should have updated a few years ago. If so, I wonder if there's any way I can go back to that earlier version that worked well for me, rather than the last few versions, which have not.

  • Creative Zen 32GB "There is a problem playing this audio" AAC

    GCreative Zen 32GB "There is a problem playing this audio" AACZ All right, this is driving me nuts. I have a Zen 32GB and a Vista 32-bit machine. I have been encountering a lot of problems playing AAC files on my Zen--many of the tracks stop short, and the error message "There is a problem playing this audio" appears.
    These are AAC files that I ripped off my own CDs using iTunes, so there are no DRM issues. ? I'm not sure if the problem lies in the actual ripping process (although the problem tracks play on my iPod without problem), the importing into my Zen using Zen Media Explorer, or my Zen trying to play the tracks. I've tried turning off my antivirus program, as well as checking the box in iTunes that double-checks for audio errors after ripping. I thought at first that it could be related to scratched CDs, but it also happens with pristine CDs.
    I have latest firmware (.2.03) installed, and also the latest version of Zen Media Explorer.
    I've searched this forum as well as Google for this exact error message, and don't get any related hits. Can anyone out there help me? Please?

    Thanks for that response--I was beginning to feel a little neglected. It's disappointing, though--one of the reasons I bought the Zen was because it advertised AAC compatibility, so that I could have just one library of AAC files for my iPod and Zen, instead of entirely duplicate libraries of AAC and WMA files. Most of the AAC files I've imported into the Zen play fine--I just have to check all of the tracks to see which ones have that audio error. Usually, if I re-import the track, it comes out fine (eventually).

  • Streaming audio from my IPAD to my Apple TV from Rhapsody application.  when Apple TV go into Screen Saver mode, about 5 minutes after that it stops playing the Audio Stream and goes into Sleep mode.

    I am Streaming audio from my IPAD to my Apple TV from Rhapsody application.  when Apple TV go into Screen Saver mode, about 5 minutes after that it stops playing the Audio Stream and goes into Sleep mode.  I am using the Optical Out from the Apple TV to my receiver, the Apple TV is hard Wired to the Network, the IPAD is Wirelessly attached to the network (it continues to play the Audio Stream).  When the Apple TV is turned back on it resumes playing once I manual select it for output from the IPAD.  All device are on current releases of software.  I have no Video hooked up to the Apple TV.  How do I correct this?

    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • I would like to play an audio cd on my macbook pro. on either the mac or MS parallel window as I have that installed but can't

    I would like to play an audio cd on my macbook pro. on either the mac or MS parallel window as I have that installed but can't

    iTunes is part of OS X, which implies that iTunes was deleted, or that your OS X installation is corrupt.  In either case, the easiest approach usually involves downloading the combo update for OS X — the so-called combo update, and not the delta update — and installing that.
    Applying or re-applying the OS X combo update won't alter your user files, but will reload all recent OS X changes, and should also cause iTunes to be re-loaded.
    If you are running Mavericks 10.9, then download and install the OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 combo update.
    You'll want to have a backup of your system — updates don't fail often, but they can fail.  If you don't have Time Machine or some other form of backups running, get that going first; before further changes here.

  • MXF file plays with audio on Source Monitor but timeline imports only the video

    Hello,
    This started happening like a few hours ago. But it was working perfectly before! This is driving me insane!
    This is the situation (Premiere CC, updated to latest version):
    - I have a bunch of MXF files and if I play them on the Source Monitor, audio and video play perfectly.
    - The moment I drag the MXF file onto the timeline, only the video is imported, not the audio.
    - I tried to drag only the audio, using the different ways that Premiere provides but it won't come at all.
    I managed to import audio and video doing the following: close all sequences, and drag the MXF file in the timeline with no sequence opened thus it will create a sequence with the imported audio and video from the MXF file.
    BUT if I try to drop the SAME MXF file in this brand new sequence, only the video will come again.
    Does anyone have an idea of what is going on? And why it suddenly stopped working?
    Thank you!

  • DVD Studio Pro not playing back audio of asset converted from FCP via compressor.

    I exported project via compressor:
    File Extension: m2v
    Estimated file size: 4.34 GB
    Video Encoder
        Format: M2V
        Width: 720
        Height: 480
        Pixel aspect ratio: NTSC CCIR 601/DV
        Crop: None
        Frame rate: 29.97
        Frame Controls: Off
        Aspect ratio: 4:3
        Field dominance: Bottom first
        Average data rate: 3.6 (Mbps)

        High quality
        Best motion estimation
        Closed GOP Size: 15, Structure: IBBP
        DVD Studio Pro meta-data enabled
    This took about 7.5 hours.  I exported the audio separately as AC3. Finder plays it sound & pictures.  Quicktime plays the video.  DVD Studio Pro, when I drag the assets (video, audio) to the timeline editor, so I can play it in the viewer, it plays the audio the video is black.  No setting in view or any other setting will get it to play the video.  This project is due to ship today and I don't want to re import it if I don't have to.
    I exported this project before the MPEG2 export as a Qicktime with .mov suffix.  This plays alright, but there is artifacting around motion.  I think this is due to low VBR, but don't know.  Can ayone help?

    If I may chime in...
    I'm a little confused on the "what plays what" part, but  all that really matters is what DVDSP sees/plays.
    I've worked on a system like yours and what I'd recommend is:
    1. NEVER export via Compressor. It's just ungodly slow on anything less than a Quad. Export a self contained QuickTime Movie using the first export option and use that to feed Compressor.
    2. Segment your output into manageable clips (I like 15-20 minutes) both to perfect the encoding and so you aren't re-encoding the whole show if something goes sour. It will all play fine as long as it's all in the same DVDSP timeline.
    From what you describe, I'm thinking you're on an early version of Compressor that had A-Pack as the AC-3 encoder. This is no biggie, I mention it mostly to verify. Early Compressor was good too.
    Make maybe a 5 minute piece to tune up. Just export as normal, then into Compressor. Your encoding values seem about right. Get the AV pair into DVDSP and it should play. I'm guessing that part of your problem is that the processor is fighting to handle the project size. Build the test clip project and look at it in DVD Player to view what would have been burned. If all looks OK, go for it. If not, bring back the results for discussion. This should be a snap, it's just a really big project.  Keep your head up, I had a friend do a 225-minute disk on his G5...

  • Zen Nano 1GB (not plus) not playing DRM audio bo

    Okay. So I've read very similar problems here, but none quite like mine. I've read through my manual (actually, I only have the downloaded manuals, and there doesn't seem to be one for a Zen Nano GB... It's not a Plus and it's not a Nano 52MB).
    My whole reason for purchasing my Nano was b/c it can play DRM audio files & I want to listen to audio book downloads.
    In any case, I know not to drop and drag my DRM files, that won't work.
    I got a (refurbished, works fine) Zen Nano GB a few weeks go. If I drag and drop regular mp3 or WMA audio files, they work fine. If I sync regular song files with WMP, they work fine.
    It's the DRM files I'm having problems with. I tried sync-ing with WMP , (after opening the DRM file and obtaining the license (these are audio books from NetLibrary.com, and I've followed their instructions as well as those for the Nano). Once I've obtained the license, I sync. The audio book appears on the Nano, but will not play.
    I tried updating (or, perhaps it was downgrading) the firmware, and then used WMP 9 to sync, and managed to get one audio book to play. I thought I was ready to go. It was awesome. The whole book played and I enjoyed it.... but... once I finished the book, and re-synced and tried to add a new book.... nothing.
    I've re-installed various versions of firmware, tried on WMP and WMP 9 AND tried using Creative's own software to sync (after opening the files in WMP and obtaining the license)... Nothing. Lots of wasted time, tho.
    I'm not quite a newbie with mp3 players or computers, but I am capable of "missing" something.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide & please let me know if I forgot anything specific that could aid in any solutions,
    MomLikesMusic (and audio books!)

    To "downgrade" firmware (I don't have any idea if that's what it's really called, it's certainly not an upgrade!):
    Through another posting on this message board, I found a link to this site:
    http://dapjukebox.altervista.org/mod...ownload&cid=85
    which has other firmware versions available (some are still on the Creative downloads page as well, but the oldest ones are not). The site seems to be in Italian (?).
    I downloaded and saved (and virus-scanned) the firmware of _0_02.
    Then, I followed the installation instructions from another firmware download from Creative:
    "To install this firmware, do the following:
    1. Download the [_0_02] file into your local hard disk.
    2. Make sure your player is connected to your computer.
    3. Double-click the downloaded file.
    4. If you are prompted to reset your player, click OK.
    5. If the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on the computer screen, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the wizard.
    6. When the firmware download dialog box appears, click Start and follow the instructions on the screen."
    Because I had nothing on my player, I didn't have anything to lose, data-wise. And it worked. One of these days I may try to upgraded the firmware to see if I can still transfer...
    I saved a few other firmware downloads (updates) to try in the future -- rather than go hunting for them again.
    Please note, the Nano I have isn't listed in the Creative products -- the one I have says Creative Zen Nano GB on it; no where can I find such a thing. Since it's a factory refirbished model I bought off e-bay, I suspected older firmware may work on it... If you have a newer model, it may not work. I'm not an expert (this whole MP3 stuff still boggles my 37-year-old mind sometimes), so be careful what you do to your player!
    Good luck,

  • 1,000 menu items - each selection plays unique audio clip with same video

    Hi all,
    We're familiar with playing different audio tracks based on a menu selection - but we have a large number of clips for this project... so, here's our question:
    A viewer of our 30 minute dvd throws it in the player and selects the city they live. We want to have about 1,000 city names they can choose from.
    Based on their selection, (eg: Los Angeles) the DVD will play and then at 7 different points during playback, we need the name "Los Angeles" inserted/played along the main audio track.  If someone selects Portland, then Portland would be spoken in that spot instead, etc.
    In terms of audio files, we have the one main audio that is the same for all menu selections, except for the spots where the city goes, it is just blank.
    We have recorded 1,000 unique audio clips of just the city name we want to include . (1 to 2 seconds long)
    What's the best way to insert the audio where we need it during playback - or is it even possible? (non-blu ray).  There is audio just before and after the point where the city name has to go, so the timing during playback is critical. (no pause or hiccup when inserting.)
    We thought about outputting 1,000 unique audio tracks (each 30 minutes long) that include the full audio along with the city, but we seem limited in the number of audio tracks on the Encore timeline (at least based on our limited authoring experience - is there a way to get more clips in encore beyond the # of audio tracks it allows?)
    In reading other posts, it seems we can set markers along the main audio track, dump all our city clips on a handful of audio tracks and have them pull in where needed but it seems it will cause the dvd to pause when doing this, and make for an interrupted viewing experience. Is that true?
    Any ideas/thoughts are greatly appreciated...
    kay

    Let's see if someone can tell us how this might be done, but I say the answer is "no."
    First, DVDs are made for playing on TVs as programs, not as interactive media. You pick one audio track, and that is all you get. To do what you want (the main audio track with one of a thousand names spoken also), you need a thousand audio tracks.
    Even if it were possible, I think the number of menu choices (max 36 buttons on a single 4:3 menu) and the max 1 gig of menu on a disk, and if not those, the max 99 vts per disk (and for Encore which uses 1 vts per timeline, a  huge task to figure out how to make all those clips into chapters on timelines) etc.

  • Captivate 7 saved project randomly does not play slide audio in preview project.

    I created a training project with over 100 slides. Each slide has an audio track that I recorded, When I preview each slide it sounds fine. When you preview the entire project, some slides randomly do not play the audio track. Try it again and other slides randomly don't play. How can I fix this and prevent it from happening?

    I concur, but do not have the device with me today, and was wondering if this is a common discrepancy. Has anyone tested Captivate output with slide audio into DPS? Does it work?
