First podcast episode missing from search

Newbie here...
iTunes is missing my first episode 'Beginning'.  When I first submitted the show it showed up fine.  If you subscribe to the show you get the first episode but if you just search for the show (The QuoteSpoke Podcast) it is missing the first episode.  Any advice is appreciated.  My show and RSS info is available below.

Thanks,

Under neath the list of episodes, the Store says '4 items'. I'm afraid you've fallen over a long-standing intermittent bug in the Store which does this sort of thing. It's not a problem with your feed, and there isn't anything you can do about it. It will probably sort itself out in a few days.

  • UCM 11g File missing from search result although file is accessable

When I do search without any criteria in UCM 11g, some files missing from search result although I know the files were checked into UCM already since I'm able to see these files using url similar to:
    http://ucm/cs/idcplg?idcService=GET_FILE&dID=12345
or use following url to get document information:
    http://ucm/cs/idcplg?idcService=DOC_INFO&dID=12345
the file is not in the search resule even search by ID.
also, the seach result say "displaying 1-20" but only display few files (e.g. 2 files, less than 20)
Is this a known problem? the same search was working in UCM 10 perfectly.
    Thanks

The query seems able to retrieve the missing document. for example, I search by content ID, in the audit log (eanbled as you mentioned) give th efollowing information:
    fusionappsattachments/6     09.13 06:22:03.878     IdcServer-3474     --- @ResultSet SearchResults ---
    fusionappsattachments/6     09.13 06:22:03.878     IdcServer-3474     numFields=66,*numRows=1*,currentRow=0
also, the infomation following above give the deteail field information which match with the missing document.
I looks like UCM just did not bring it to UI as part of search result.
This seems match with my another finding as I mentioned earlier: the seach result say "displaying 1-20" but only display few files (e.g. 2 files, less than 20)
it seems query did find the documents but UI did not show it.
Not sure if this is a known bug.

  • HT1819 I noticed that some of my podcast are missing from the iTunes store. What is the cause of that?

I noticed that some of my podcast are missing from the iTunes store. What is the cause of that?

That suggests that the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • First ten episodes missing not on Itunes

    Good day,
The first ten episodes of my podcast, http://bkfilmtheorists.blogspot.com/, are not showing up on Itunes. I'm at a loss as to why, since I embedded the media the same way I did for episodes 11-20 and those are available without issue.
    http://itunes.apple.com/ne/podcast/the-brooklyn-film-theorists/id416454137
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheBrooklynFilmTheorists
    Any help would be appreciated.

Your feed contains only episodes 11-21 (plus other entries which do not contain media and so are ignored by iTunes).
You are making your podcast in Blogger. Many podcast creation programs or services limit the number ofepisodes which appear in the feed, after which earlier episodes are moved to an archive page on the associated website and removed from the feed: this may well be what is happening here (though 11 is a slightly odd number). There is often a setting somewhere to alter this limit. iTunes itself does not limit the number of episodes, it just reads what's in the feed.

  • 3 episodes missing from a TV series I bought.. how do I get them?

I bought vol. 1 of the "regular show" straight from my iPhone not so long ago, however there wasn't enough room on my iphone to download all the episodes so I cancelled the last 3 (by swiping and deleting) later on I decided to get rid of all the episodes to make way for more music.
Now that I have itunes up and running I re-downloaded that TV series however, I can only see the first 6 episodes that I originally saved to my phone, and the last 3 episodes are no where to be seen. My purchase history and my download history are completely oblivious that I bought the WHOLE series, both on my phone and on my PC
How on Earth to I get those last 3 episodes without re-paying for anything? (I'm hoping if I re-purchase the series, itunes will recognize that I've already bought it and they wont charge me to download all the episodes again).
    Thanks for your time.

What country are you in ? If you are in the US, Canada, Australia or the UK then you can re-download TV shows via the Cloud : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 - if they don't show in your purchase history then I assume that you aren't in one of those countries (?)

  • Half podcast episodes missing

Only half of my podcast episodes are turning up in iTunes - I think this is because Feedburner isn't picking up on them (http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThePilgrimsPodcast). I may be past some maximum information limit. Is there some way to either filter my blog feed to only include posts with podcast audio (like, instead of plugging in the website's URL - plug in the URL for a blogger label)? Or should I figure out another hosting service?
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-pilgrims-podcast/id942105067?mt=2

Your feed has seven episodes with playable media, and these show in iTunes (episodes 7 to 13). It also has numerous episodes which have no playable media, and these are not shown in iTunes. There are 25 episodes in all.
The feed has been originally constructed in Blogger, and if you were expecting to see older episodes in it, it's likely that Blogger is limiting you to 25 episodes shown in the feed, older ones being moved to an archive page and out of the feed - something that many services do.
Of course if you are going to mix weblog and podcast episodes in the same feed then this sort of thing is going to happen. Neither Feedburner nor Blogger can detect the difference. It's better to keep the podcast episodes in their own separate feed. However there may be a setting in Blogger to allow you to include more episodes. The iTunes Store doesn't impose a limit until you get to 301.

  • When i try to submit my first podcast episode, i get an error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed

Hello! i am trying to submit my podcast feed into itunes but get "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed". I'm using the soundcloud podcasting beta, and i've tried almost every thing. Also when i try to test my feed by subscribing to it first, everything works except the episode wont play. any help?
    RSS Feed:http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:141115987/sounds.rss

This is because you have the URL for the media files incorrect. The top episode's file is given as
    http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:141115987/sounds.rss/http://f eeds.soundcloud.com/stream/196914893-behindthereels-ep2-everything-bethesdawav.m p3
If you look at it you will see that it is plainly wrong - you have http in twice. The correct URL is
    http://feeds.soundcloud.com/stream/196914893-behindthereels-ep2-everything-bethe sdawav.mp3
and the same process applies with the other episode.

  • Podcast Missing From Search

    Hi All,
I realize that updating the search index must take a significant amount of time. Certainly the faq says 24-36 hours. However in the case of our show, we've been in the catalog for 12 days now and you still can't find it via the search feature in iTunes.
This is for the IBM Linux Technology Center Podcasts.
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=279009450
I've tried even more general search terms such as IBM and it's not listed there either. Thanks!
    Regards,
    Tom

How long does it take? I have changed my xml since Friday, pinged it several times and I don't show up and it is now Sunday.

  • My first podcast episode disappeared

    Here is my podcast feed:
    http://jeffreybuettner.com/feed/podcast/
I published my second episode today and the first episode is now missing.
For some reason, the feed looks fine: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/running-with-real-estate/id805017790?mt=2
    Any suggestions?

Everything seems normal - there are two episodes in the feed, January 21 and today, February 6, and both show in the web page for the Store, the Store page in iTunes, and when subscribing. Note however that when you subscribe for the first time or afresh iTunes shows ony the most recent episode. In 'My Podcasts' view click the 'Old episodes' button, in 'List' view control- or right-click the podcast name and choose 'Show old episodes.

  • Podcast file missing from itunes and ipod

I uploaded an mp3 file to my ipod and changed the media type from music to podcast. Now the file doesn't show up in any category of my ipod on itunes, and it doesn't show up anywhere on my ipod. However, if I do a search on the ipod for the name of the file, it shows up as a podcast and I can play the file, even though it doesn't show up in the podcast directory. If I can't find the location of the file, how can I delete it after I've listened to it? Syncing my podcasts made no difference.

  • My podcast is missing from its categoy

I produce a video podcast car review segment called Drive. If I try searching for it in Automotive (the category that it's assigned to) it does not appear. My guess is that I'm losing a lot of hits because of this. Any tips for contacting Apple to get it to appear in the category it should show up in? Thanks! Tom
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    One last reply S,
1,000 randomly selected podcasts? Is this for all podcasts or for each category? There are 30 listed in Automotive
I've managed to cajole our web folks to refresh Drive with 3 new episodes and the promise of more each week. I'll see if that restores it to Automotive or Featured lists. I'm not holding my breath.
As to how to get on the Featured list, that remains a mystery to me. Podcasts that are far less popular than mine are on the Automotive Featured list (a Z28 Camaro podcast with only two episodes for instance). Besides, if Drive doesn't show up on an Automotive search, how can it possibly get on Automotive's Featured list? Hmmmm....
My experience with Apple has always been great. So to be unable to correct something so simple is a head scratcher. In the end it may or may not be important for Drive to be listed in the category it's assigned to, but it can hardly hurt. I'd feel better if it were there.
    Thanks for your insight! TV

  • Podcast episode resolution from keynote to GB

I'm importing Keynote presentations in to Garageband to save them as enhanced podcasts for students to view my class presentation when they've been absent.
I began exporting my keynote presentations as image files, then entering them one by one in Garageband as episodes to view the presentation on a Nano.
The image on the Nano is square-ish and cuts off the sides of the slides.
At what point in this process do I adjust the resolution so these slides so they work on the Nano and to what resolution do I change them to?
    Any ideas?

Adjust the resolution of your images to 176 x 132 before importing them into Garageband. To prevent distortion, first create a blank image of this size: then open one of your images, and adjust its size so that the height is 132 and the width is in proportion. Copy: paste into the blank image and adjust so that the width is cropped as you want.

  • Non downloaded episodes missing from list

Before in iTunes when I wanted to get episodes I didn't have, there was a full list right in the source list and I could just hit Get. Now that list is missing and it only shows episodes I have downloaded. I can fix this if I unsubcribe then resubcribe, but then it just comes up again.

In order for those shows to show up in your library you may need to download them, from that purchased page that you described. At some point either they disappeared from your computer or were moved and itunes can't find them anymore. It may take a while, since there seem to be a lot of them, may make sense to do that overnight for few nights.

  • Itunes only showing my first Podcast episode

I added my podcast feed and after approval only one episode showed up. I have now done two more episodes over the last two weeks and they don't appear in Itunes. Anyone know why?
    Thanks in advance!

As you upload new episodes, you have to make sure that the XML file for your RSS feed is being updated (you have to do this manually unless you have software that automates it.) and add a new '<item>' section for each new episode. Episodes are listed in date order (based on your pubDate tags).
ALSO... iTunes only scans your URL once per day. Your new episodes may not appear in the iTunes store page for as much as a day -- although I think they'll show up for users who have subscribed to your podcast almost immediately (because once someone subscribes they don't actually need the iTunes store anymore to find your podcast or new episodes.)
In the tech help for podcasters, Apple does describe how to craft a 'PING' URL which you can use to force iTunes to attempt to see if your feed has updated (without waiting for the daily update that they normally do).

  • Signed messages are missing from search results in a shared mailbox

We recently completed moving all user mailboxes to Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2010.  We also have a policy that disables the 'download shared mailboxes' option in Outlook as it cause .ost files to get cumbersome and cause performance problems.  This
means that shared mailboxes that users have open are all in 'Online' mode.  Since the move to 2013, when users search against a folder in a shared mailbox, the only items that are returned are unsigned messages.  Our customer base very frequently
signs email and these signed messages do not show up in results.  This was working in Exchange 2010 so our users are frustrated by the sudden inability to receive complete and accurate search results.
If they perform a search of their local mailbox, which is using Cached mode, they are searching against their local index and they can find signed messages.  But since the shared mailbox is not cached to their local system, they are relying on the Exchange
server index and it does not seem to be indexing any signed messages.
Does anyone know how to force Exchange 2013 to index signed messages?

try to perform the below steps and check if it works or else we need to wait till Exchange 2013 SP1 which they have planned to bring digital signature message in exchange
    Outlook 2007
In Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify that indexing is complete:
In Outlook, click Tools, Instant Search, and then click
    Instant Search.
When the Microsoft Office Outlook dialog appears, you should see the following:
Outlook has finished indexing all of your items.
New items are indexed when they arrive.
0 items remaining in "Mailbox -<<var>username</var>>"
0 items remaining across all open mailboxes.
    Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013
In Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, follow these steps to verify that indexing is complete:
In Outlook, click in the Search box.
Click the Search tab, click Search Tools, and then click
    Indexing Status.
When the Indexing Status dialog appears, you should see the following:
Outlook has finished indexing all of your items.
0 items remaining to be indexed.
